...It's so noisy.
Xiao Cheng listened to the sounds around her in a daze; they were noisy but distant, as if they came from another world.
But the sound quickly became clear, as if the barriers between worlds had been completely broken down, and fresh, moist air rushed in, filling her chest, which felt as if it had been parched for a long time.
A cool, moist touch came from beside her, and waves of water surged up, soothing the lingering pain on her body.
Xiao Cheng slowly opened her eyes. Before her was a clear blue sky, the sounds of insects chirping and birds singing, and the rustling of grass blades in the wind.
She was lying on the riverbank, half of her body submerged in the water, her clothes wet and sticking to her body, making her feel somewhat uncomfortable.
So what is the current situation?
Xiao Cheng slowly sat up, his mind starting to work again after a slight pause. He went over the events that had just happened in the previous instance and finally came to a conclusion.
Perhaps I am truly dead.
I don't know how Fang He is doing, and I didn't get to see him one last time. On the bright side, maybe he successfully escaped the instance after passing the trial.
As Xiao Cheng thought this, she suddenly felt a little irritable, and a subtle feeling of loss welled up in her heart.
Just then, a familiar electronic notification sound suddenly rang in her ears, breaking the silence.
"Ding-dong."
"Attention all players, the dungeon 'Absolute Creation' has been loaded. We wish you a pleasant gaming experience."
Suddenly, ripples began to spread across the river, and two lines of crimson characters faintly appeared in the water.
[Attention players, the game has officially begun.]
[Game rules are being improved, and game objectives are being set. Please explore on your own.]
Xiao Cheng was completely bewildered.
So what's going on here?
Have dungeons become so outrageous that they don't even spare the dead?
But clearly, no one here could answer her question.
A strange, thick fog suddenly spread, turning everything into a white expanse, with a mirage-like corner of a building faintly visible deep within the fog.
Then the fog quickly began to thin out, and the full view of the building gradually came into view. It was a six-story building with walls painted a gentle milky white. On the windowsill of each room on each floor, there was a pot of rosebuds waiting to bloom.
In the very center of the first floor, a disproportionately large steel door is tightly closed, clearly separating the building from the outside world.
Xiao Cheng was even more confused.
She seemed to have been here before, although the building wasn't this new back then, and was even considered abandoned, but there was no doubt about it.
This is her first copy.
"Wow..." she exclaimed involuntarily, before realizing that she seemed to be able to speak normally now.
That's good news.
Regardless, once the game has started, there's no way it can be stopped halfway. Xiao Cheng stood up, wrung out his half-wet clothes, and then walked straight towards the building, stepping on the soft grass.
As she approached, she discovered that the door was not locked, but rather ajar, revealing a very narrow crack. The moment she reached the doorway, it creaked open automatically, revealing a magnificent and spacious hall inside.
The layout is quite different from the abandoned version; there is no guardhouse or elevator. A wooden staircase spirals upwards along tall, sturdy columns, with intricate and elaborate openwork carvings on the railings.
A purple plush carpet was laid out in the center of the hall, with a circle of fabric sofas on it. Three players with indistinct faces sat on the sofas and turned their heads to look the moment the door opened.
"A newbie?" the man on the far right said unhappily. "He's getting in the way, might as well just kill him."
“Be gentle with the newcomers, Number One.” This time, it was a woman who spoke. She leaned affectionately against Player Number One, but she didn’t seem weak at all. She wasn’t a harmless canary, but an extremely dangerous venomous snake.
The remaining person was some distance away from them, silent, seemingly relaxed as he leaned back on the sofa, but in reality, his muscles were tense, and he was vigilantly watching for any movement.
Number One chuckled ambiguously, lightly pinched the woman's cheek, and then waved towards the door: "Come on over there, newbie."
Xiao Cheng was too lazy to argue with him now, so she walked over in a very good-natured manner and sat down on the single sofa opposite the three of them.
The moment they sat down, their faces suddenly became clear, and numbers appeared above their heads one by one, from right to left, namely number one, number two, and number three.
"Little sister, you're number six." The second woman giggled, half-covering her mouth. "First time in a dungeon, right? Have you even looked into the rules? Why didn't you find an experienced player to guide you?"
"It's okay, anyway, my older brother and sister are all experienced players, they'll definitely be more than capable of teaching me." Xiao Cheng smiled innocently, her eyes crinkling. "I happen to have a question to ask you right now."
"Brother and sister, are you all dead?"
The words had barely left his mouth.
The second woman maintained her fake smile, but her gaze instantly turned extremely sinister: "What kind of joke is my sister making? It would be such a pity if such a lovely newcomer were to die by accident."
"Ah! I'm sorry! I didn't understand! I said the wrong thing!" Xiao Cheng realized what was going on and apologized repeatedly in a flustered manner.
Number Three, who had been silent until now, suddenly coughed lightly and turned his head casually towards the direction of the stairs: "Number Four and Number Five have been going up to investigate, why haven't they come back yet?"
"Why don't I go up and take a look?" Xiao Cheng said eagerly, behaving like a newbie eager to integrate into the group.
