A hint of confusion flashed in its eyes, but it was quickly drawn back to its attention by Xiao Cheng's constant provocations.
"roar--!!!"
Its bloodshot eyes stared at the tiny human in front of it. It let out a loud cry, its entire upper body suddenly rising from the ground, and then its two front paws stomped down like small mountains.
Fang He rubbed his palm, which was scalded and blistered, and pressed it against the cave entrance, turning his head to observe the strange cave.
It doesn't seem to be man-made, but rather naturally formed. The other end should be open, and you can vaguely feel a faint cool breeze blowing out from inside.
The cave was pitch black, as if all light had been swallowed up. There was no strange smell in the air, nor any unusual noise.
He cautiously peered out of the cave, glancing hastily at Xiao Cheng as she walked away into the distance, and at the giant lizard that was relentlessly pursuing her.
The mess left along the way proved the lizard's astonishing destructive power.
There was no time to waste. He took a deep breath and turned to walk into the deeper darkness.
Xiao Cheng was chased for a long time, but unfortunately he didn't have a suitable weapon. He was no match for the tough-skinned lizard with his bare hands.
All they could do was dodge.
In the brief moment of dodging, she hurriedly turned her head and glanced at the mountain wall.
They were already too far away to see the cave, let alone Fang He. In the end, they could only come to one conclusion.
This giant lizard should join the demolition crew.
However, so much time has passed, Fang He should have come out by now, let alone going into the cave to take a look, or even if a new one were dug out on the spot.
Xiao Cheng took a slight breath and looked up at the bright sun.
"Damn it, let's be reasonable. I only accidentally hit you with a rock a little bit. Aren't you tired of chasing me for so long?"
She had long since figured out the lizard's attack pattern. Taking advantage of its sweeping tail, she raised her hand, grabbed the tip of its tail, and with a somersault, landed steadily on its back.
Then I was covered in a particularly pungent fishy smell.
It was extremely smelly.
Why can't we smell it down there?!
Xiao Cheng's face froze.
"Go take a bath!" She covered her nose tightly, and with one hand free, she endured the nausea and pulled off the lizard's skin, then stood firmly on its back.
If your skin is too thick, your senses won't be as sharp.
The lizard watched helplessly as its prey vanished, then started circling around in a daze, its tail slapping against the ground as it continued its relentless search.
But they still came up empty-handed.
It roared loudly in a fit of rage, its entire body shaking. Xiao Cheng almost fell off, but at that moment she didn't care about the stench and gripped the ground even tighter.
The lizard finally gave up, turned around, and slowly crawled towards the rock wall.
The sunlight shone on its back, making its skin increasingly dry. A few meters away from the rock face, the first piece of cracked skin fell from its neck.
Like toppled dominoes, spiderweb-like cracks quickly spread across the lizard's back, including the piece of skin that Xiao Cheng was holding.
Her pupils contracted sharply, but it was too late.
The lizard suddenly shook its body, causing pieces of skin to peel off its back.
Also thrown to the ground was Xiao Cheng, who hadn't quite regained her balance. Due to inertia, her body rolled forward uncontrollably, stopping right under the lizard's pouncing forelegs.
At the critical moment, the lizard suddenly stopped moving.
It slowly lowered its head, its wide-open mouth seeming to be smiling but not quite. A scarlet tongue protruded, and it feinted, circling around Xiao Cheng.
Hot, foul-smelling breath brushed against her face, and thick saliva was about to fall.
The lizard's foot slammed down, right next to Xiao Cheng, creating a deep crater.
The lizard growled softly, its tongue curling towards Xiao Cheng.
Then gunshots rang out suddenly.
Bang--
The lizard's huge and heavy body was thrown out and crashed heavily against the rock wall.
Rocks flew everywhere, and the ground shook violently.
Xiao Cheng raised her hand in surprise to touch the sticky blood splattered on her face, then immediately stood up and looked in the direction from which the gunshot had come.
The surrounding scene began to pixelate rapidly, with blocks of all sizes rising upwards, compressing the space until it finally formed a completely blank, enclosed compartment.
The bright red bloodstains were the only bright spot here.
The lizard's corpse suddenly began to shrink, eventually becoming as tall as a person, and lay limply in a pool of blood.
Nineteen raised his hand to wipe his dusty face, put down the still-smoking gun, looked at Xiao Cheng with lingering fear, and breathed a slight sigh of relief.
"Luckily I arrived in time, otherwise you would be dead! How are you? Are you alright?"
"without……"
Xiao Cheng hadn't fully adjusted to the sudden change in space and didn't know how she had suddenly returned here.
Before she could finish speaking, she suddenly looked down at her chest as if sensing something.
The horrifying penetrating wound had healed completely, leaving no trace, as if it had never existed.
besides……
She could still feel her heart beating.
Thump, thump.
With unprecedented force, it demonstrated its presence.
So... Fang He succeeded? Was there really something the merman was looking for in that cave?
Xiao Cheng was completely confused. She didn't know what that thing was, but it was probably related to the reason she had returned here.
If nothing unexpected happens, Fang He should have arrived here at the same time, but like last time, he was assigned to a different cubicle.
