Chapter 121 The Corridor of Death

Although the vampire in front of him looked like he was drooling over his blood, Phil Gray was not afraid at all. Not to mention that the homeowner and Leopold were around and would not stand by and watch him be sucked, he was not someone to be trifled with either, and this vampire might not be able to beat him.

“No, I think this wine tastes very good. It’s slightly spicy on the palate and incredibly fragrant, even better than some of the finest wines on Earth,” Phil Gray said to the vampire with a smile, taking a small sip.

"Really? You're quite an interesting little fellow. Two or three hundred years have passed, and I wonder what the human world is like now. It's rare to see a living person as fearless as you." A hint of nostalgia flickered in the vampire's blood-red eyes as he leaned back in his chair, a curious expression on his face. "But can you tell me, what are you relying on to dare to attend a rebirth feast of a group of dead so openly?"

Phil Gray glanced at Frank and Leopold, then said to the vampire with feigned mystery, "I have a friend who is a big shot. Putting aside other places, in your Northern Region, he can definitely walk around like a madman."

It seems this vampire isn't a high-level undead; he didn't sense the Death Knight's protective aura, at most he's just someone of the same level.

"Oh? Who is it?" The vampire's eyes flickered, looking quite interested.

"Of course I can't tell you, he told me to keep a low profile."

“Alright.” The vampire was a little disappointed, then heard Frank’s voice again, “Don’t be so curious. Go back and give my regards to your chieftain. Tell him that my long-cherished wish is finally coming true. Tell him to come to my resting place when he has time. I have something for him.”

“Yes, Mr. Frank.” The vampire nodded, finally sitting properly in his seat and turning his attention to the rest of the banquet, no longer staring at Phil Gray.

"Wait a little longer, the lord will come to find you. He will definitely ask you about that person. When that happens, don't say that you don't know that person's true identity. Just say that you have a friendship that transcends life and death, that he values you very much, and then take the opportunity to ask to return to the human world and request that the lord open the Death Corridor for you."

A faint voice reached Phil Gray's ears; it was Frank's voice, but Frank did not speak in his sight.

I guess he used some special method to transmit his voice to himself so that others wouldn't hear.

Phil Gray didn't care; all he cared about now was how to get back to the living world through what they called the Death Corridor.

He turned his gaze back to the Skeleton Lord, who was calmly surveying all the undead present. Although he had no eyes, only empty eye sockets and blazing spirit fire, all the undead could clearly sense his gaze.

After the newly born skeletons were taken away, the ordinary undead people gathered at the entrance were also dispersed. The final part of the rebirth feast was for all the distinguished guests to enjoy the delicacies of the human world.

Phil Gray glanced at the food on the table; it was indeed very lavish, with roasted lamb chops dipped in gravy, bread rolls wrapped in foie gras, fragrant herring pie, and several small plates of rosehip jam, among other things.

He was simply curious about where these spirits got their earthly food from and how they were able to digest it.

Just as he was lost in thought, he heard Frank tap on the table in front of him. He looked up and saw the Skeleton Lord walking towards him.

Phil Gray quickly stood up and went to meet him.

"Guest from the mortal realm, do you have a moment to chat with me?" the Skeleton Lord said in a friendly voice.

“It’s my pleasure,” Phil Gray nodded.

“My lord, I have to go too. It’s not that I want to interrupt your conversation, but I was summoned by him and became his companion. I can’t leave his side for even a day.” Leopold walked over and said with a helpless expression.

“No problem, Frank, come over here too. It’s rare to see you out here.” The Skeleton Lord turned and walked towards the castle stairs.

"As you wish." The homeowner floated up and followed behind them, then gave Leopold a look.

They all went up to the second floor of the castle, where the guests below turned their attention to Phil Gray and began to whisper among themselves.

The vampire, still seated, shrugged. He was genuinely curious about who this important figure was. He thought about the guys who roamed the Northern Region and eliminated them one by one, but he couldn't find any of them who had the patience to interact with the living. After all, they could easily crush even the undead, let alone the living.

After passing through the stairs, we went up to the second floor of the castle. There was a simple reception room on the second floor, with a carpet embroidered with skull patterns and several long benches made of bones.

Although there was no light, the presence of the Skeleton Lord and Leopold's spirit fire made it easy to see the surroundings.

"Please sit down."

Phil Gray thanked him and sat down on the bone bench.

"Do you know Death Knight Wild?" the Skeleton Lord asked bluntly.

“Yes, he is my good friend.” Phil Gray recalled Frank’s words and admitted with a smile, his eyes revealing a sense of nostalgia for his friend.

He truly missed his brief time at the Papacy, and the guidance and care the Papacy had given him when he first arrived in the world of Vell.

"Do you know his recent whereabouts?" the Skeleton Lord asked.

“He must have been summoned to the temple by the God of Death. If he comes out, he should tell me,” Phil Gray said with a smile.

Hopefully, the homeowners' information is accurate.

"Hmm, is there anything I can do for you in the Abyss?" the Skeleton Lord asked again.

“I entered by accident, and I have a favor to ask of you.” Phil Gray looked sincerely at the Skeleton Lord. “I hope you can open the Death Corridor for me so that I can return to the human world. If you help me, I will be eternally grateful and tell my friends about your kindness.”

The Skeleton Lord was silent for a moment before slowly speaking, "Do you know anything about the Death Corridor? Why didn't you wait for Lord Wilder to come out before taking you back to the human world?"

“I don’t really know, but I have very urgent business to attend to in the human world. My friend is being threatened by the enemy, and I must get back as soon as possible. So I can’t wait for Wilder to come out. Besides, I don’t expect him to come out anytime soon. I know that an audience with the gods is such a great blessing for him. How can I disturb him because of my own business?” Phil Gray said with a faint smile.

The Skeleton Lord nodded, seemingly convinced by his answer. "Very well, the Death Corridor is the boundary between the human world and the abyss, an endless dark passage. There are many mindless spirits there, bound by the power of death, unable to leave or find peace. They will attack any living being that enters the Death Corridor, attempting to take their life and soul. Only a very few powerful or fortunate beings can pass through the Death Corridor and return to the human world."
