I hurriedly found his guest room and locked the door.
Phil Gray felt that the power of death within his body had reached a critical point. Then, even purer and richer power of death surged in, constantly tempering his soul and body.
At this moment, he exuded a chilling aura, and even his skin had turned pale.
If anyone else were present, they would surely find that he gave off the feeling of a corpse, exuding a heavy aura of death that was enough to send chills down one's spine.
Finally, the power of death calmed down and slowly merged with the other divine powers, returning to a state of nothingness. Phil Gray also returned to his original form and regained his vitality.
He is a Death God's Chosen One of the Blessing level!
Phil Gray closed his eyes, listening intently to the voice of the divine, "In seeking the truth of death and burying the lost souls, you have gained the friendship of the dead..."
Friendship of the dead?
Phil Gray smiled with delight. The skill that the God of Death had given him this time was actually quite interesting and very useful!
"The skill granted by the Blessing level—Undead Companion—can randomly summon an undead from the Abyss of the Dead. The undead can exist for one day, and the summoned undead will treat the summoner as a companion..."
However, there are conditions to summoning. Phil Gray frowned. "You need to prepare some offerings. Certain offerings can even summon specific undead? What counts as an offering?"
He was eager to try out the skill as soon as possible, but then he thought about what would happen if he couldn't recall the undead he had summoned. After all, the skill didn't specify whether it would last for a day, and it wouldn't be good if the other people on the ship found out.
After carefully reviewing the skills I currently have, I found that the Fate skill set includes Eye of Fate, Fate Blade, and Fate Wall; the Death skill set includes Right Hand of the Dead and Undead Companion; the Day skill set includes Burn; and in addition, there are gloves used to create dreams and condense the Sun Sword.
Phil Gray was quite satisfied with so many skills. If he wanted to continue improving his strength, besides waiting for divine guidance, he could also seek out the right hand of a more powerful dead person or collect so-called sacrifices.
Looking in the mirror, he found that the mask on his face was still covering him well, and there was nothing different about his body. Although his skin had become a little whiter, it was so subtle that probably no one would be able to tell the difference.
Pushing open the door, the cabin doors on both sides were open, and a few passengers were carrying luggage, preparing to head to the Gold Coin 9 for their return journey.
"What's wrong? I sensed something was off with you just now. Are you feeling unwell?"
Eli's voice suddenly rang out from the side, and Phil Gray then realized that his partner had been leaning against the wall outside his door the whole time.
"I'm sorry to have worried you. I just completed the God of Death's Proverb and broke through again." Phil Gray returned an apologetic smile.
"Huh?" Eli smirked. "Fine, you're something else. I wouldn't be surprised if you suddenly became a god one day."
“Heh, not quite.” Phil Gray shook his head, then, remembering Eli’s familiarity with the Church of the Dead, asked in a humble manner, “Do you know what offerings the followers of the God of Death usually use to summon the dead?”
Eli looked surprised. "You're asking me, a follower of the God of Life?"
"Stop pretending, you definitely know. Tell me quickly, the skill I gained this time is related to summoning the undead, but it requires a sacrifice to summon them. Is the sacrifice food? Treasure?"
Eli crouched down, tapped on the wooden planks of the ship, and chuckled, "Perhaps you could offer this ship as a sacrifice?"
"Won't the Commercial Church consider me an enemy?" Phil Gray asked helplessly. "You mean, anything can be used as a sacrifice?"
“Yes, after all, everyone has their own preferences, and so do all the dead. If you offer your socks as a sacrifice, maybe one of the dead will like them?” Eli laughed heartily.
"Alright, when you reach the Abyss of the Dead, I'll sacrifice my socks to summon you out."
"How do you know I'll choose to go to the Abyss of the Dead? I'm a follower of the God of Life!" Eli asked curiously.
Phil Gray suddenly fell silent. Yes, Eli was clearly a follower of the God of Life, so why did he subconsciously feel that Eli would end up in the Abyss of the Dead? Even though he knew a lot about the Church of the Dead, it was still too illogical.
He rubbed his temples. "I don't know why I have this feeling."
“Don’t jinx it. My faith is very strong, and I would never betray my god.” Eli raised an eyebrow and turned to walk forward. “Alright, let’s not block the way here. The passengers on the Gold Coin Nine who are going to Malu Island will have to move in later.”
They strolled leisurely through the cabins and around the dining room.
“We’re setting off tonight. According to the waiter from the other day, it will take six days to reach Malu Island. We’ve already sailed for two days, so it will probably take another four days,” Phil Gray calculated.
“Oh, right, Bernie said that to welcome the new passengers, there will be a ball in the ballroom on the third floor after we set sail tonight. He invited us to attend. Are you going?” Eli stopped and asked.
Phil Gray looked up at the natural-style house in front of him, with the words "Gold Coin Bookstore" written on it. So Eli's destination was the ship's reading room.
But that suited him perfectly.
“What’s the point of a ball? Isn’t this place much more interesting?” Phil Gray chuckled and went inside.
"Huh? How did we get here?" Eli was a little puzzled. He didn't have a map of the ship's rooms, and he just wandered around aimlessly without expecting to end up in the reading room.
Seeing Phil Gray's interested expression, he joked, "You don't still want to be a member of the Light of Wisdom, do you? I think your love for books is about the same as those old men's."
"No, I just want to learn more about the world of Will, or about things related to the Chosen Ones. After all, I've always been an ordinary person, and I lack knowledge in this area. I can't keep being treated like someone who has no common sense, can I?"
Phil Gray glanced at it briefly. The collection of books in Gold Coin No. 3 was quite extensive, but a large portion of them were books like "How to Become the Richest Man in the World" and "One Hundred Ways to Acquire Gold Coins," which was very much in line with the style of the Business Church.
“If you want to learn more about the Chosen Ones, you can try visiting a church school.” Eli’s fingers traced the titles on the bookshelf, pulling out a book titled “The Secrets of the Church of Life: The Unknown Past.” “Haha, that’s interesting. What are commercial churches doing collecting these?”
“Hmm? A church school?” Phil Gray asked curiously.
