Chapter 77 Absurd Relationship

No sooner had the king finished speaking than someone entered, bowed respectfully to the king, and stood on the other side of the palace.

Phil Gray glanced at the man and saw that his curly hair was turning gray, he was leaning on a cane, and he looked very much like Ernest. This was the Duke of Surrey, not only George's father, but also Ernest's father.

Phil Gray glanced at his companion behind him and noticed that his hands were trembling slightly.

He patted the other person's hand, in a reassuring gesture.

Although we don't know what happened between Ernest and his father, it certainly wasn't a good memory.

Glen nodded slightly. “Your Majesty, your nephew colluded with the Church of the Dead and the Church of Dreams, causing the deaths of nearly a hundred female chosen ones in the Dark Night Parish, creating nightmare monsters, and plunging the entire port into panic. I believe he should be publicly tried and hanged.”

The Elder of Life looked directly at the King and said, “In short, neither the Church of Life nor the Church of Dawn will allow such a person to continue living in the world.”

“No! Save me, Father!” George cried.

The Duke looked somewhat haggard, his head bowed, and he remained silent to the side.

"Let's see who dares to hang my darling!" a shrill female voice rang out, accompanied by hurried footsteps. Phil Gray saw a woman carrying a long dress walk into the hall.

She wore a long purple dress, had a dignified face, and wore a colorful pearl necklace. She was plump and glared angrily at the two elders.

"Sani! What are you doing here?" the king shouted.

George cried out in surprise, "Mother! Help me!"

Sani looked distressed. She walked up to George and stroked his forehead. "You say he killed someone, but where's the evidence? And no matter what he did, I won't let you kill him."

Glenn glanced at her, then looked at the king sitting high on the throne. “The people behind me are all eyewitnesses. We two elders would not frame an ordinary person. As for the bodies of the victims, they have been handed over to the Dark Night Cult for disposal. They will probably send you a letter in a few days to tell you the whole story.”

If His Majesty is unable to conduct the trial, I will take him back to the Papacy for a religious trial!

King Puna stood up and smiled. “Elder, don’t worry. As king, I will not protect any guilty person, even if he is my nephew.”

He shouted sternly, "Guards, take George away! Issue a public notice that he will be tried in front of the people in the square this afternoon and hanged!"

The king then strode over to the Duke of Surrey and patted him on the shoulder reassuringly. “Duke, there is no need to be sad. Just pretend that your son did not exist. Your daughter is far more intelligent and talented than him, and you are not without a successor.”

The guards on both sides stepped forward in unison, ready to drag George away.

"No!" Sani hugged George tightly, and the guards, mindful of her status as a princess, could only stand still.

"Take the princess away too, and don't let her come in again!" The king's face darkened, and he turned his back.

"You can't kill him! Your Majesty, you can't protect your nephew, but can't you protect your son? You're going to kill your own son with your own hands!" Princess Sani collapsed to the ground, her makeup ruined by tears.

"What?"

Everyone present looked on in astonishment; it was simply unbelievable!

Princess Sani and the King are siblings, and isn't George her illegitimate son with the Duke of Surrey?

The entire palace fell silent as everyone processed the information in the princess's words.

"What nonsense are you spouting! Shut up!" The king glared angrily at the princess. "He's my nephew! How could he be my son!"

The others turned their gazes toward the Duke of Sari, their expressions inquisitive.

Sani then stood up and cried out in a shrill voice, “He is your son! Why is it that the child of that viper can become your only prince, enjoying wealth and power, while my poor George has to suffer so much!”

The Duke of Surrey stood quietly, seemingly detached from this absurd scene, without uttering a word.

No one could deduce the truth or falsehood of the matter from his expression.

The king's chest heaved with anger as he looked at Sari, who seemed completely unconcerned. "Your son, your woman, aren't you going to say anything?"

Sari bowed slightly, his expression calm. "No, it's your son and your woman."

The king was momentarily speechless, slumping back onto his throne. "You... what did you say?"

His face aged considerably in an instant, and his eyes were fixed on Duke Sari. "Your slander and defamation of the royal family is a capital offense!"

"I'm just stating a fact. For so many years, I really wanted to tell everyone the truth, but my cowardice and tolerance kept it buried in my memory. I paid a heavy price for it. My wife and son have both left me, one by death and the other by life!" Duke Sari said sadly, tears welling up in his eyes.

Phil Gray looked at Ernest behind him, only to see him with a slightly parted mouth and a complicated expression as he looked at his father.

"What exactly happened?!" the king demanded angrily, coughing and pointing at the guards who were still standing there in shock. "Get out of here! If anyone utters a single word about what happened today, I'll throw you all alive into the abyss of the dead!"

"yes!"

The guards were trembling with fear and quickly ran out of the palace.

Sani sobbed softly, "Brother, you've always known that I have a crush on Darcy, the former pope of the Church of Destiny, but he doesn't like me."

Hmm? Is the original owner's father involved in this?

Phil Gray never expected this.

“More than twenty years ago, he was invited to the palace to attend your inauguration ceremony, and I added some drugs that I got from the Pink Cult to his wine.”

Sani bit her lip and spoke slowly.

Pink worship? That's a group that worships a god of fertility.

The king angrily pointed at the princess, "Are you out of your mind? He's a pope of divine renown, how could he not see that there's something poisoned in your wine?"

“Yes.” Sani looked straight at him. “He definitely figured it out, so he left. And when I woke up during the day, I was faced with my own brother’s face!”

“Even if Pope Darcy were angry, he wouldn’t retaliate against you like this.” Glenn shook his head. “I know him well. He is upright, kind, and benevolent. All the good words seem to have been tailor-made for him.”

Phil Gray looked at Glenn's turned face and knew he was talking to him.

“Yes, of course it wasn’t him. I found out later that it was just a coincidence.” Princess Sani said with a sorrowful expression.

"Impossible! I clearly went to the Orchid Theatre, which had just moved to the capital that night..." the king muttered to himself, but recalling those distant details, he could no longer convince himself.

“Regardless, he has the purest royal blood in his veins. Do you still want to kill him?” Sani stared into the king’s eyes and asked, word by word.
