Dear cousin:
It's as if we're meeting in person as I read this. I send you my sincerest greetings from afar. I haven't heard from you in a long time, and I miss you and Edith's life on the island.
I want to know if you are doing well there? Have you adapted to the island environment and life? Have you experienced a thrilling and exciting journey with your pirate friends? Have you fulfilled the divine prophecy and allowed more people to feel the mercy of fate?
I have good news for you: I am about to return to the Holy See, back to the embrace of destiny. This is something we have both longed for. Apostates will eventually face the wrath of God. I will use their blood to nourish a purer flower of destiny, as a sign of my respect for God! I know you have been wandering with me for a long time and have not seen the faces of your loved ones. So this time, I hope to meet you again in destiny, to have a good time with my uncle and aunt, and to witness this important moment in my life.
If you and Edith are determined to go to North City, please be very careful on the way. War has broken out on the continent of Ver. Gods from the Crimson Calamity, the Plague Keepers and other sects have come to the scene, as if a conspiracy is brewing. I only hope to see you and Edith arrive safely.
Finally, I look forward to meeting you again and sharing our stories and experiences.
Best wishes!
Your cousin Phil Gray
Under the bright lights, Phil Gray put the letter he had written into an envelope, stamped it with the Flower of Destiny seal, and instructed his butler to send it to Jonas Plantation.
They planned to set off tomorrow. Since he had not reached the level of divine revelation, he could not be teleported to the Western Continent through the main church channel. Fortunately, he had the Holy Son's mount, the Pegasus of the Sun, which would take only five days to reach the Church of Destiny.
He only just learned that the four white horses with a wisp of golden hair on their heads were actually the most precious Pegasus of Dawn, which were said to be able to extend golden wings and take off wherever there was sunshine.
These horses were not only given to noble figures such as the Holy Son, but also to knights who had contributed to the dawn, such as the Radiant Knights squad that accompanied them this time.
If my cousin receives this letter, it will take them at least half a month to reach North City without special transportation, which would be just in time for me to arrive after I have reorganized the Papacy.
He wanted to show his cousin a completely new cult of destiny, and also wanted to hold a welcoming ceremony for his future "brother's wife" according to the Grey family's etiquette, so as to give his cousin face.
Thinking of this, Phil Gray smiled slightly.
"Knock knock knock!"
There was a knock at the door, and before he could open it, Eli walked in.
"Boss, I did it! I can communicate with my sister with my soul now, and I can feel the emotions she expresses to me. I've stabilized that wisp of her soul, and it won't dissipate anymore!" Eli said excitedly, his body trembling uncontrollably.
"That's great!" Phil Gray couldn't help but feel happy for him.
"I want to search for more things that nourish the soul to make her more stable, but I don't know if the matter of the Abyss Altar is true?"
"Alright, perhaps we can summon Mr. Frank and ask him?"
Eli nodded.
Phil Gray spoke, walked to the door and closed it tightly to make sure no one else would come in. He then stretched out his hand, and a black magic circle appeared in his palm. He softly called out the name of his undead companion: "Frank!"
The gates from the abyss slowly opened, and Mr. Ghost Frank emerged amidst the thick fog.
He looked around and realized that he was still in the Holy Son's residence, so he knew that they were still in the City of Light.
"Why are you summoning me again so soon?" Frank asked with a smile, looking smug, as if he had experienced something good on the other side of the abyss.
Phil Gray recounted what had happened to Eli, and then inquired about the Southern Monarch and the altar.
“Oh, so you must be talking about the altar in the center of the Southern Region. The monarch of the Southern Region is a powerful ghost, and most of his people are also ghosts. So he opens the altar once every hundred years to heal the people whose souls have been severely damaged over the past hundred years, repairing their souls. Even if only a wisp of soul remains, it can be restored to its original state once it reaches the altar,” Frank said. “If it weren’t for my old friend being a skeleton and settling in the City of Ten Thousand Bones in the Northern Region, I would have gone to the Southern Region too.”
"It only opens once every hundred years? When will the altar be opened again?" Eli asked.
“Let me think. This is a grand event that only happens once every hundred years in the Southern Region. The last time I heard about it was forty years ago, so it must be almost sixty years before it starts again,” Frank replied.
"Huh? It's been that long?"
Eli was somewhat disappointed; sixty years was too long to begin.
I don't know if my sister's soul can last that long, and I really want to see her right away.
Phil Gray placed a reassuring hand on Eli's shoulder, then asked Frank, "Are there any exceptions? Could we start earlier?"
Frank glanced at him. "A special case? He wouldn't help unless it's someone very important to that monarch, would he? Or can you offer him a price that's tempting enough?"
Phil Gray felt he had nothing to attract a quasi-god, so he could only stand next to Eli and sigh with him.
"Alright, although I can't help you ask that monarch to open the altar, I can find some things in the abyss to stabilize your souls. That should be enough to sustain you for sixty years. You can just participate when the altar opens next time," Frank said, seeing their dejected expressions.
"That's all we can do for now." Eli could only suppress his disappointment. No matter what, his sister hadn't disappeared, and they still had a chance to meet again—that was enough!
“Well, once we’ve settled things on the continent of Ver, I’ll go to the Abyss with you. You know I’m quite favored by the gods, so maybe I can ask the God of Death to intervene personally? That way, we won’t have to wait so many years.” Phil Gray winked at him and smiled.
"Thank you, boss." Eli breathed a sigh of relief, feeling as if a weight had been lifted from his heart. He should trust his own judgment; what was there to worry about with this boss?
"Alright, you've finished telling your business. Now it's my turn. I have a great deal for you. If you're willing to do it, forget about searching for things that stabilize souls; I guarantee you'll become the richest and most powerful person in the world!" Frank said excitedly, but for some reason, Phil Gray sensed a conspiracy.
"What kind of business?" he asked warily.
Seeing his expression, Frank rolled his eyes at him: "It's definitely going to be in your best interest!"
