Chapter 127 Rest on the Island

Is it a small island?

Phil Gray rubbed his stomach; it was empty and he was a little hungry. Finally, the outline of an island appeared at the edge of his vision, but it wasn't very clear.

“Looks like it is. You’re lucky,” Frank replied after floating forward a short distance.

The white shark carried him relentlessly toward the island, finally reaching land before sunset.

“I don’t know what kind of island this is, or how far it is from Malu Island.” Phil Gray stepped onto the somewhat dry land, which was covered with withered plants and scattered pebbles.

"Food, oh, I need to eat something." He chewed on the candy Caroline had given him, but it was the last one.

Fortunately, they had reached land. He glanced at the two undead in the air. One of them stood there like a wooden figure, and its strange appearance could startle people if they didn't look at it.

The other one looked left and right, as if it hadn't seen the world in a hundred years.

As darkness fell, he gathered some dry firewood and lit a campfire by the sea.

After catching several sea fish with the Flying Blade of Destiny using great effort, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"I'll go inside the island and see if I can help you find a way out." Frank couldn't contain himself any longer; he was practically drifting away with the sea breeze.

Phil Gray could understand his feelings. If he had been trapped in the abyss for so many years, he would definitely want to see the sights of different places after coming to the human world. Besides, ghosts never get tired.

He smiled and said, "Then I'll trouble you, Mr. Frank. If you have any other food, please bring some back for me as well."

"no problem."

The ghost vanished quickly.

Night had fallen, and the only sounds on the quiet island were the crackling of the campfire and the ebb and flow of the tide. He couldn't identify the species of the fish, but they were quite large and looked very fresh.

"I wish I liked storing food in my space like Patrick does. I'll definitely remember that next time." Phil Gray idly drew the pattern of the Flower of Destiny on the beach.

Fate is so strange. Now he and his companions are separated, and he doesn't know what they are doing now. He can only hope that each of them can escape danger and wait for the day they can reunite.

Also, he forgot to tell Caroline to be extremely careful, since that strange church had already been destroyed, yet it swallowed her up in the scene.

"God of Destiny, please guide me!" Phil Gray prayed silently, though he couldn't do so with the ghost present.

He threw a branch, which pointed to his left.

"I hope this isn't meaningless. Let's head in this direction tomorrow!" He stood up and looked in that direction. The vast sea stretched endlessly, with only occasional small ripples, as if something was moving beneath the surface.

The aroma of fish wafted over, and he smiled as he looked at the golden-brown grilled fish.

“I’m back. This island isn’t big, but for some reason the plants aren’t growing very well. There are only some fruits like these. Would you like to try some? I don’t think they’re poisonous.” Frank floated over, and several red fruits fell from the sky, landing in Phil Gray’s arms.

"Thank you." Phil Gray thanked him, then took a bite. It was sweet and sour, tasting similar to strawberries on Earth, but with the crispness of an apple.

I don't know what kind of fruit it is.

“Mr. Frank, may I rest here for the night and head in that direction tomorrow?” He wiped his hands and pointed.

“No problem, let me check the moon again. You rest. Tomorrow I’ll use this to summon that unlucky shark back for you to ride.” Frank smiled and said, his gaze softly fixed on the moon, the ghost’s body appearing and disappearing in the moonlight.

“Okay, thank you.” Phil Gray casually lay down on a pile of dry plants. “I see you are so attached to the human world, so why did you choose to go to the abyss in the first place? Were you a follower of the god of death in your previous life?”

"Of course not, I was the light of wisdom in my lifetime."

"Huh?" Phil Gray looked at Frank in surprise. The owner of this resting place had actually worshipped the god of knowledge and wisdom in his lifetime?

"I stayed in the Abyss only to find someone. I thought I could be a ghostly couple with her in the Abyss, but I later learned that she was not in the Abyss, but had entered the Wheel of Life. Unfortunately, hundreds of years have passed, and I have almost forgotten what she looks like." Frank had a faint smile on his face, as if he was reminiscing about the past.

"Is it the girl in the painting I sacrificed for you?" Phil Gray asked after thinking for a moment.

"Hehe, yes."

"Oh, so do you regret it?"

"No, perhaps I regretted it at first, but I found that after becoming a ghost, I had endless years to pursue truth and knowledge, so I let go of my remorse. I just really, really want to come and see the human world."

Chatting with Frank, accompanied by the sound of the sea, Phil Gray drifted off to sleep.

"Hey! Wake up! Something's happened!"

Phil Gray heard Frank's voice. He rubbed his sleepy eyes. The glaring sunlight made him feel uncomfortable. It was already daytime, and it seemed quite late.

"What's wrong? What happened?"

"The spirit that followed you has left on its own," Frank said with surprise.

"What?"

Phil Gray looked around at the sky in all directions, but he couldn't find the strange figure.

"He's lost his mind, so why did he suddenly leave? Did anything happen before that? And how did he behave just now?"

"I don't know. I was thinking about something when that guy suddenly emitted a powerful aura. It was the divine power of the dawn. I was afraid he would hurt me, so I stepped back a distance. Then I saw him fly away, but he left in the direction you pointed out yesterday," Frank shook his head and explained.

This is truly bizarre. Has he regained his intelligence?

Phil Gray frowned. Although he was happy that the guy was no longer following him, he was also worried that he might cause trouble after leaving. However, as it seemed, he was only dealing with the undead, so there shouldn't be anything to worry about.

Thinking of this, he said:

"Let him be. It's good that he's leaving. It's time for us to continue our journey."

“Okay, I was actually quite doubtful about your direction yesterday, but that guy also left in this direction, so there shouldn’t be any problem.” Frank said, taking out the flute from yesterday and starting to play his “signature” tune.

Phil Gray watched the great white shark swim towards him and swallowed the words he was about to say. He had originally intended to suggest making another flute from the branches on the island, but now it seemed that perhaps the shark preferred this sound.
