Chapter 7 Accidental Injury
The three of them tried their best to avoid the zombies and walked for another ten minutes before finally reaching the back door of the hospital.
As Li Hangyuan said, there were indeed only a dozen or so wandering around here, and they were gradually gathering around.
Zombies are now more difficult to kill. Their speed is beginning to approach that of ordinary people, and they no longer have stiff joints and slow reactions.
Gu Chao and Zhang Rui were leading the way in front, one on the left and one on the right, while Lu Ming was picking up the bodies that had escaped the net at the back.
The two men took the fire axes they found on the road and chopped them down in two bangs, leaving only a headless corpse. If they hadn't had to avoid their sharp black nails, they might have gone even faster.
Lu Ming was also swinging a baseball bat vigorously, hitting the zombies' heads like playing whack-a-mole.
She was weak and didn't know how to do it, so it usually took her many hits to kill one, and her arms were so sore that she couldn't lift them before she had killed a few.
After the cleanup was complete, the two men worked together to break the lock on the back door. As soon as they opened the door, they heard a loud shout: "Get out!"
Zhang Rui immediately pulled the slower Lu Ming out first, while Gu Chao waited at the door.
Lu Ming turned around and saw two figures rushing out one after the other. The man in front was burly and strong, while the man behind was tall and thin.
Gu Chao slammed the door shut, fastened the chain, and blocked the group of zombies coming from behind.
Without time to exchange pleasantries, the three of them quickly caught up.
With the addition of two main forces, their journey became much easier.
Gu Chao and Hubei Xiongyao led the way, Gaoshou brought up the rear, and Zhang Rui protected Luming. Just as they were getting close to their destination, a small group of zombies suddenly surrounded them. They looked like they were the workers who had been working on the mall construction.
The two people behind hurried forward to help, and Lu Ming was gradually left behind.
"Help! Wait for us!" At this time, a loud shout came from the small path between the two buildings on the right, mixed with hurried footsteps.
Before Lu Ming could see who it was, he was knocked to the side by a huge force.
A small tricycle had overturned on the left, loaded with construction materials. Lu Ming fell onto it, feeling a sharp pain in his left leg and screaming.
The tall, thin man who was closest turned around and saw Lu Ming being hit by the rushing people. He couldn't help but curse: "Fuck!"
He ran back and looked into the alley. Seven or eight people were running towards them, followed by a trail of zombies.
Without bothering to ask about the situation, he pulled out the iron bar that was stuck in Luming's left leg, squatted down, and carried her on his back.
Lu Ming felt dizzy from the pain, and only when the tall and thin man carried her into the mall and put her on the ground on the second floor did she feel a little better.
Fortunately, the artery was not injured, but the amount of bleeding was considerable. Most of the pants on the left leg were soaked, which looked quite scary.
Gu Chao locked the door downstairs and when he came up and saw it, his heart suddenly tightened.
He came over with a frown and asked, "What's going on?"
The tall and thin man looked angry. He gestured to Gu Chao to look at the people sitting slumped not far away and told him what had just happened.
Gu Chao's face looked grim. He swept his cold eyes around, clenched his fists, and remained silent.
He opened his backpack, took out medicine and gauze, and half-knelt beside Lu Ming.
The little girl was sweating profusely due to blood loss and fatigue. Her face was as white as paper with a faint bluish tint. She bit her lower lip tightly, her eyes were watery, and she looked at him aggrievedly.
He couldn't help but soften his voice: "I'll bandage you, bear with it."
Lu Ming hummed softly and turned away, not daring to look at his wound.
What kind of plot is this? Why is she always the one who gets hurt? She has never been hurt so badly before!
Gu Chao used a dagger to cut open his pants, revealing the hideous bloody hole.
He thought he had bandaged countless terrible wounds, but today he was a little hesitant to start.
He took a deep breath, washed his hands, and then made up his mind to pour alcohol into the wound.
A severe burning pain came over him. Lu Ming covered his mouth with one hand to muffle his scream, and only let out a small whimper. His eyes were red and tears rolled down uncontrollably. He was trembling with pain.
His other hand tightly gripped the other side of his pants, his knuckles turning white from the force.
After the bandage was done, Lu Ming was already covered in sweat. He looked exhausted and leaned weakly against the wall.
Gu Chao also breathed a sigh of relief as if he had completed some important task.
The ground was too dirty, so he looked around and asked a few people to bring a few wooden boards placed far away. Then he split them and stacked them against the wall, wiped them clean, and built a simple chair for Lu Ming.
The tall, thin man had been keeping an eye on Gu Chao and Lu Ming. Seeing this, he couldn't help but wink at the other two, his face full of gossip, as if "something's up with the boss." While Gu Chao was trying to transfer Lu Ming to the wooden board, he walked aside, pulled Zhang Rui aside, and quietly asked, "Hey? Who is this girl? When did the boss find a little sister-in-law for us?"
Zhang Rui frowned, looking unhappy: "Don't talk nonsense, it would be bad if someone heard it."
The tall, thin man was even more curious. Wasn't it his sister-in-law? His boss looked normal, but in reality, he had no compassion and was as hard as iron. He had never been close to anyone except the team members.
Why is there an exception this time?
Oh, that gentle one, tsk tsk, the more he looked at it, the more awkward it felt.
There was no light, so the few people had to make a small fire, sit around it and distribute dinner.
Lu Ming was starving, but he couldn't eat because of the pain from his wound, so he just gnawed on some dry biscuits.
The tall and thin man held it in for a long time. Seeing that Lu Ming looked better and was looking at them curiously, he couldn't help but laugh and said, "Boss, why don't you introduce yourself?"
Lu Ming was amused. This guy was so lively. She thought everyone in their team was serious and solemn.
When Gu Chao saw her, his expression softened unconsciously and he pointed at Lu Ming: "This is Miss Lu Ming."
Then he introduced the other side, "Yan Song, Lin Cong."
The burly one was Yan Song, and the tall, thin one was Lin Cong. Lu Ming matched the names with the people, then smiled faintly: "Hello."
When the two met, there was a flash of surprise in their eyes.
Oh my god, this girl is so cute, who can resist her?
They usually either train or carry out missions around the world. There are few opportunities to see the opposite sex, and the beauties they meet are either companions or enemies. This is the first time they have gotten along with an ordinary girl as cute and beautiful as Lu Ming.
Lin Cong was still nonchalant: "Hello, hello, have you known our captain before?"
"I don't know him."
"Huh? Then how did you get kidnapped...ah, why did you end up with them?"
Lu Ming didn't know what to say, so she looked at Gu Chao for help. In fact, she didn't know why they wanted to take her with them.
However, Gu Chao was not a good storyteller and dismissed them with just two sentences - "Stay at her house for the night. It's not safe for the little girl to be alone, so take her with you." The two newcomers couldn't help but feel disgusted. What was he talking about? He didn't explain anything clearly. They didn't believe that the boss was such a loving person.
Zhang Rui added, "Not only that, but he saved my life yesterday." He had clarified the matter during the break and was deeply moved. Seeing their suspicious faces, he became anxious and quickly recounted what happened yesterday.
After the two heard this, Yan Song's already round eyes widened even more, like a bear: "Can you do this? You're asking a girl to save you. This is too embarrassing for us."
Lin Cong also retorted: "That's right, don't tell anyone you know me when you go out. Not only did you fail to take good care of me, but you also made me suffer. Are you still a man?"
Gu Chao, who failed to take good care of the person: "......"
Zhang Rui felt embarrassed and aggrieved. He didn't want to have a fever, and he didn't want to be a dead dog! Why don't you talk to the awake person?
Captain? Oh, if you dare, go ahead.
Lu Ming was also embarrassed: "Don't act like I'm so great, I didn't do anything."
Being taken hostage, I feel like I'm being held back.
Lin Cong retorted, "Hey, sister, you're missing the point. If I really asked you to do something, this guy would be kicked back home. The key is that your kindness is rare, much better than many people. It's like a millionaire donating 100 yuan and a millionaire donating 10 yuan out of a monthly salary of 1,000 yuan. The meaning is different."
Zhang Rui raised his eyes and said, "Get lost. I'm older than you. Call me brother."
Lin Cong: "Hey, I said ranking by strength. What do you want to compete?"
Zhang Rui snorted: "If you have the guts, tell the deputy captain the same thing when you see him."
Lin Cong choked, but still managed to hold on: "The deputy captain is a wise man, he wins by brainpower, he can't compare with us."
Yan Song couldn't help but said: "You are the only fool, don't take us with you."
"Fuck! Brother Song, where are you from?"
"Of course it's on the side of the smart people."
Lin Cong: “…”
They shouldn't be in the mall, they should be in the parking lot, arguing every day!
A few people talked and laughed, their nerves, which had been tense for several days, finally relaxed. A trace of warmth swirled around the swaying firelight in this small world.
Gu Chao watched the others playing around and couldn't help but look at Lu Ming. Seeing her eyebrows curved and two dimples on her face, he smiled. But when he thought of her injury, the smile faded.
He frowned. If he didn't get tetanus, would this kind of injury become infected? But with the current situation in the hospital...
I can only meet up with them first and then find a solution.
A sense of uneasiness lingered in his heart.
