Chapter 97 The Mosquito Guarding the Gate

Seeing that Shang Tian seemed to intend to leave, the burly man immediately stepped forward and asked, "Can you avenge us?"

Shang Tian neither said he could nor he couldn't; he simply smiled and looked at the burly man, asking, "How will you report this?"

Even the deepest blood feuds can be resolved with a single bolt of lightning.

The burly man gritted his teeth and said, "Kill that damned prefect."

"It's that simple?"

Wu Weisheng sighed, "That prefect has three thousand soldiers protecting him, so getting close to him won't be an easy task."

Shang Tian nodded. "Are there any other people in the city?"

If possible, it wouldn't be a bad idea for him to take over Jizhou.

“My sister is in the prefectural government,” the burly man said through gritted teeth.

If his mother hadn't threatened to kill herself, how could he have abandoned his sister and left?

But now, even my mother is dead.

He swore he would not be a human being if he did not kill that corrupt official.

Shang Tian looked at the burly man with some surprise and asked, "Are you willing to come with me?"

Go with him?

The burly man raised his head. "Can you save my sister and kill that prefect?"

"I can only do my best for the former, but I will definitely accomplish the latter for you."

In situations like this, no one can guarantee that anyone will still be alive.

The big man naturally understood the implication of Shang Tian's words. He gritted his teeth and said, "If you can save my sister, I am willing to serve the Shang family for three generations."

"Okay." Shang Tian looked at the remaining crowd and asked, "Is anyone else here?"

"Can you really avenge us?"

"Yes." For Asahi, there's nothing I can't do.

An old man stepped forward shakily, saying, "My Wang family is willing to pledge allegiance to you. Please ask you to find a doctor for my grandson."

There was no doctor in the village. Thinking of this, Shang Tian frowned. "Is there not a single doctor among you?"

The group looked at each other and shook their heads. How could such capable people end up like them?

Shang Tian sighed, looked at the old man, and said, "I can only provide you with food and clothing, but I cannot be a doctor."

The last two words, however, seemed to weigh a thousand pounds.

A human life is worth a fortune, isn't it?

Old Wang shook his head with a wry smile, "Thank you, young master, I have enough to eat and wear."

There was really no other way. If he continued to struggle to make ends meet, he would lose more than just a grandson.

"Father." Old Wang held onto Old Wang's arm, his heart heavy with grief.

His father, who had worked hard all his life, was now in his old age still having to worry about his children and grandchildren, which was truly unfilial of them.

Old Wang patted the back of his hand and smiled, "It's good that you survived."

Upon hearing this, the grown man's eyes reddened. "Your son is unfilial," he said, each word choked with emotion, a sound that tugged at the heartstrings.

"Husband." Wang's wife stepped forward and stood behind him, still holding a swaddled baby in her arms.

Shang Tian felt a pang of resentment at his own incompetence, but there was nothing he could do for the moment. He simply said, "I'll take you back to the village first."

Seeing the group leave, a few people with ulterior motives followed them out of the cave. "Where are you going?"

One of them waved his hand and said, "Let's go and see."

Seeing this, the remaining people secretly followed them. There were no zombies on the way back, but because the journey was long, they walked for half the night. By the time they arrived at the gate of Shangjia Village, the sun was already high in the sky.

Everyone was exhausted and starving. Shang Tian frowned and said to Mosquito, who was guarding the door, "Open the door."

"Yes, sir." Mosquito ordered the gate to be opened, allowing the group to enter.

Just as they were about to close the door, several people rushed over.
