Chapter 2: Unethical System

After hearing what Baibai said, Fan Zhiyi no longer cared about the incense ash on his hands and continued to crawl forward slowly: "Don't be afraid, little friend, I am a human being." Although his action was a bit strange, he is really a good person.

The host couldn't bear to watch it any longer. If he had a physical body, he would definitely hold his forehead and roll his eyes: "Host, please walk carefully. You scared him."

"I'm just out of energy. You know the path you've taken. If it weren't for my determination, we would have been finished long ago. Speaking of which, you reminded me of a piece of software."

"What software?"

"Evil map."

“…”

The purpose of the Bad Map is that when more people walk on it, it becomes a road. The map is determined to share this road that everyone can walk on with more people for the benefit of the public.

Fan Zhiyi's heartbeat calmed down. He gave up his primitive way of walking and regained control of his limbs. He stretched out his hand towards the corner and smiled, "Don't be afraid, little friend. I'm not a ghost. Let's escape together."

Fan Zhiyi waited patiently, then whispered, "The magic circle here will soon become ineffective. Trust me, I will protect you."

Finally, a little hand timidly stretched out and placed in Fan Zhiyi's palm. It was very cold. Fan Zhiyi held it. The child finally walked out of the shadows, squatted down with Fan Zhiyi, covered his mouth, and stopped crying and making a fuss.

Because there was no light, Fan Zhiyi couldn't see the child's appearance or expression. He just thought it was very small. Then he thought that he, a man in his twenties, was so scared in such an environment, not to mention such a small child. He didn't know how long he had been there or how he got here, so he couldn't help but feel a little more pity for the child.

"Host, we have to keep moving. We can't waste too much time here. First, you have to wrap your hands, otherwise it will be too easy to expose your position."

"I understand." Fan Zhiyi wanted to pull his hand back, but the child held it tightly. Fan Zhiyi smiled, touched his head, and comforted him, "It's okay, don't be afraid. You can hold my clothes first."

The child was very well-behaved. After hearing what Fan Zhiyi said, no matter how scared he was, he let go of his hand and instead pulled the corner of Fan Zhiyi's clothes.

Fan Zhiyi tried to tear off a piece of clothing scrap to bandage his hand in a cool way like in the novels, but then he found out embarrassingly that he couldn't pull it off because the quality of the clothing was quite good.

Forget it, just roll up these long sleeves and tie them up.

After finishing, Fan Zhiyi brought the child to the door stealthily, opened the door under Bai Bai's instructions, and then took the child to follow the glowing route.

Hey, Fan Zhiyi suddenly felt that it was good to have Baibai as the system to guide him.

After the rest just now, Fan Zhiyi felt that he was able to recover and began to ask about the reason for traveling through the book and so on.

He was originally an orphan. He finally got a job and earned money, planning to save some money and retire well. His daily pleasure was to read novels after get off work. As a result, he accidentally stayed up late and died suddenly.

Bai Bai told him that as long as he completed the task, he would have a chance to be resurrected.

But when Fan Zhiyi asked what the mission was, Bai Bai replied in a solemn, mechanical voice, "I wore the wrong clothes. I just consulted the control room while I was escaping."

"Was I in the wrong book?"

"No, we've traveled to the wrong time. We..." The voice at the end was a little out of order, like the crackling sound of an old TV because it couldn't receive a signal. Fan Zhiyi didn't hear it clearly.

"What did you say?"

"Host, the book you traveled through is..." A vague electronic voice said, "Your name in this book is Fan Zhiyi, from the Tianyun Sect... You went out to kill ghosts with..., but ended up being left behind because of......"

"What? Baibai, the signal is bad over there." Fan Zhiyi complained. As a result, the luminous route in front of him disappeared, and the electronic sound in his mind turned into a series of noises, forcing Fan Zhiyi to cover his aching head. His ears felt a little empty and ringing, and he leaned against the wall for a while to relax.

Fan Zhiyi shook his head and called out in his mind: "Bai Bai, Bai Bai?"

No one answered. Fan Zhiyi was in tears. This broken system must be messing with him.

Fan Zhiyi was alone, disheveled in the wind, and shivered. Then the child he was holding pulled him, and he came to his senses.

The child pointed ahead. Fan Zhiyi stared blankly at the darkness ahead and finally had to accept the worst reality: Baibai might have malfunctioned.

But he had to escape, and he was with a little kid, and he had promised the kid that he would take him out.

The route just now pointed to the right. He had to be more careful when he was alone, as he couldn't do it with cheats.

Fan Zhiyi stuck his head out and took a quick look. Seeing that there was nothing unusual, he took the child out.

After turning right, there is a straight route. Fortunately, nothing suddenly pops out, otherwise Fan Zhiyi feels that he will be scared and scream and fall to the ground, and the whole team will be wiped out.

But unfortunately, the road eventually led to a fork in the road, and Fan Zhiyi was in a dilemma, not knowing which way to run.

He knew he didn't have much time to hesitate, so he chose to order the popsicle and clicked on the left.

After walking a few steps, perhaps due to the animal's premonition of danger, Fan Zhiyi squatted down quickly and felt a chill on his head. When he looked up, he saw that the kitchen knife was stuck in the wall. He was instantly scared and broke out in a cold sweat. Without saying a word, he picked up the child and ran away.

The child happened to see from behind Fan Zhiyi's shoulder that the female ghost twisted her body completely backwards and fell down in order to pull out the knife, but her eyes were staring at them through her hair, and her smile was particularly weird.

The female ghost fell with a loud thud, followed by the creepy sound of bones snapping together behind her. The female ghost bent her waist 180 degrees and crawled behind them.

The child opened his eyes wide with fear, grabbed Fan Zhiyi's collar and whimpered a few times, then covered his mouth tightly.

Fan Zhiyi wisely didn't look back, fearing that if he did, he would be so frightened that he wouldn't even have the strength to run. He pressed the child's head tightly against his chest, preventing him from looking back.

Fan Zhiyi was not a very fast runner to begin with. Now that Bai Bai was gone and he was holding a child, it would be strange if he could outrun that crazy ghost.

Go north, where is the exit? Why is there another fork in the road ahead?

Fan Zhiyi never thought how lucky he was, and this time he was extremely unlucky. The path he chose was simply a path chosen by heaven. Is there anyone who can tell him why there are so many ghosts?

As I ran, I found that these forked roads were actually connected in the end. In other words, it was a road that I couldn't figure out, but it split into two forks in the middle.

Which Baopilong designed this route!
