Chapter 3 The Boy Who Fell from the Sky

Fan Zhiyi was running in front, and more and more ghosts were chasing him from behind.

He couldn't go on, he was exhausted, his legs went weak and he knelt down, subconsciously protecting the child first.

Forget it, I'll die. At worst, I'll turn into a ghost and protect this kid. At least one of us has to survive.

By then, they will all be ghosts. I don’t believe that I can’t defeat them. Let’s fight like ghosts.

With this strange thought in mind, Fan Zhiyi held the child tightly in his arms, but the expected pain of being bitten by the evil spirit did not occur.

In a flash of white light, a shrill roar was heard from the evil ghost.

Fan Zhiyi opened one eye to look. The sword light was so bright that it illuminated the courtyard as if it were daytime, and the person who came seemed like a god descending to the earth. His white robe mixed with his high-bound black hair fluttered in the wind. He descended from the sky with his back to them, and his appearance could not be seen clearly.

Dozens of sword shadows shuttled back and forth, and the evil spirits were reduced to ashes. The visitor quickly adjusted a few spells with his fingertips, and the sword shadows exploded, and the courtyard returned to silence and darkness.

The sword shadows merged into a translucent white sword, which the visitor sheathed on his back with one hand. He looked at Fan Zhiyi, who was holding the child, with a dark and unclear gaze: "Give me the child, and come with me."

"Ah?" Fan Zhiyi's mind was blank, but he still didn't let go easily, "Why do you want a child?"

Vaguely, Fan Zhiyi seemed to understand the disgust in the other person's eyes. This person thought he was being an idiot.

"What can I do? Hurry up." The other party urged.

Although I don't know who the other person is or whether he is a good person, in this situation, it is better to let this person who has the ability to protect himself take care of the child. And if the other person really has bad intentions, with his ability, he can directly snatch the child away.

Fan Zhiyi thought about it and felt that there was still a high probability that he could trust the other party.

But the child kept holding on to his collar tightly and seemed very scared.

Fan Zhiyi patted his back and comforted him softly, "Don't be afraid, don't be afraid. This brother will help us."

The child still clung to Fan Zhiyi. Fan Zhiyi was afraid that this seemingly bad-tempered god would find them annoying and abandon them, so he didn't dare to delay any further. He picked up the child, supported himself on the ground with one hand, and handed the child to him: "The child just got a little scared."

After all, in such a world that he doesn't understand, if he wants to survive, he still needs to have powerful native inhabitants by his side.

The man frowned and reached out his hand. Even in the darkness, from such a close distance, one could still make out his handsome features. However, his movements were awkward, and he didn't know how to take the child.

Fan Zhiyi instructed: "Put your hands here, like this..."

The other party was a little impatient: "I know." Although he said this, his movements became gentler when he took the child, and the expression on his face also eased a little, and he breathed a sigh of relief, as if he had finally solved a huge problem.

He seems to be a good person, Fan Zhiyi thought.

The other person was walking in front and seemed to be very familiar with the haunted house. He walked very fast. It was a bit difficult for Fan Zhiyi to keep up with him alone, but it was not easy to ask the other person to stop and wait for him. After all, it was such a critical moment and he didn't want to be a burden.

He also found that this person didn't care about his life or death at all. It seemed like he came in just to save the child, and it didn't matter what happened to him.

So, this person is actually this child's relative? But judging from the child's reaction just now, it doesn't seem like it.

"Do you know the child?" Fan Zhiyi followed and asked in a low voice.

"I don't know him." The other party answered quickly almost as soon as Fan Zhiyi finished speaking, with a tone of disgust, and quickened his pace, always keeping a steady distance from Fan Zhiyi.

Fan Zhiyi: "..." Would a weak man like him eat this wizard who could kill countless evil spirits with one sword?

After following the twists and turns for a long time, Fan Zhiyi was already exhausted and out of breath. He didn't dare to stop because the other party would not wait for him. If he stopped, Fan Zhiyi thought that his life would be over.

Finally, the door in front opened, and a magic circle with golden light appeared.

This exit really looked like an exit, which instantly made Fan Zhiyi feel a little more energetic and hopeful.

A cold wind suddenly blew, and the sound it made when it passed through the treetops in the pavilion was like the cry of a ghost.

Fan Zhiyi shivered and felt chilly.

The young man who had been leading the way in front also gradually slowed down his pace. The moment the wind stopped, the child was sent back to Fan Zhiyi's arms in a flash.

The boy yelled, "Run!"

Fan Zhiyi didn't know what was happening. The cool wind stung his neck, and the cold sword brushed past his face and pierced into something behind him. Fan Zhiyi's arm was grabbed by the young man and pushed towards the door.

Fan Zhiyi ran forward without any hesitation, and the child held on to Fan Zhiyi's clothes tightly.

The door doesn't look far away, but for some reason it seems so long to run towards it.

The next second, everything in the haunted house seemed to come alive, and countless shadows floated out in all directions. When he was only one step away from the door, Fan Zhiyi heard the familiar laughter and the sound of a kitchen knife scraping across the wall, which gave him goosebumps.

He looked back and for a moment, not caring about anything else, he jumped onto the ground holding the child and rolled a few times. This time, he rolled further away from the door.

Fan Zhiyi held the child in his arms, and when he stopped, he immediately stood up and took a defensive posture, ready to run at any time.

"Brother, this is for you." The child spread out his hands. "This was given to me by that brother. He said he could protect me."

In the child's palm was a bright yellow talisman, which was sweating profusely as he held it. Even though Fan Zhiyi didn't understand anything, he could feel that it was a good thing.

Fan Zhiyi swallowed his saliva, looked away and rejected the tempting offer, staring intently at the thing rushing towards them.

The female ghost hit the wall, and her limbs seemed to be embedded in the wall, allowing her to lie on the wall like a gecko, and then bounce over.

"Listen carefully, run towards the gate, run out, and find a safe place to wait for your brother to come find you!" Fan Zhiyi said as he rolled up his sleeve to reveal the scar. He didn't know when it started bleeding again, and now the whole sleeve was soaked with blood.

After saying that, Fan Zhiyi stood up and waved his arms, running away from the door while waving, to give the child a chance to escape.

The young man who was engaged in a fierce battle over there glanced at him, gritted his teeth and cursed: "Idiot!"
