Chapter 4 All I can do is keep running

It seems that what Baibai said is indeed true. His blood is really useful, but it is too useful!

Fan Zhiyi felt like he would be captured by various ghosts at any second, and he screamed at the top of his lungs: "Ahhhhhh, help!"

Why is he trying to be a hero? What kind of hero is he trying to be? Is now the time to be a hero?

This was an extremely fierce chase. As expected, the one who gradually stood out from the group of ghosts with miserable deaths was our female ghost with a kitchen knife.

"No, sister, do I have a grudge against you? Why have you been chasing me since the moment I appeared?" Fan Zhiyi burst into tears.

Even though I was the one who lured them with my blood, as a ghost, can't I have some self-awareness and not blindly follow the crowd? Herd mentality is bad! Can't I just go after that boy...

Well, Fan Zhiyi fell silent, as if pursuing him was indeed more cost-effective.

so……

“Help!”

Fan Zhiyi also wanted to run towards the boy, but the road was almost completely blocked by ghosts, so he could only bite the bullet and walk down.

There was a big turntable in front of him. He squatted with his hands in his hands. The female ghost's knife hit the tree. Then Fan Zhiyi crawled to the side quickly using his hands and feet. His hair was grabbed. His entire scalp felt like it was about to be torn off. The piercing pain spread from the top of his head.

No, what's the point of growing your hair so long?

Fan Zhiyi knew that he could not escape and was surrounded by ghosts led by a female ghost.

When he saw the female ghost's huge teeth coming at him, Fan Zhiyi closed his eyes and put up his hand to block it, screaming in pain. He felt like his hand was about to be bitten off, and tears flowed down his face in pain.

He subconsciously kicked the female ghost and actually kicked her, but what could he do if the female ghost didn't let go? She stared at him with her dark eyes.

The next second, only the head of the female ghost was left biting Fan Zhiyi's hand. Her body was kicked away by someone, and the smelly blood splattered all over Fan Zhiyi.

Then his head was pierced from top to bottom, and he finally got loose.

Fan Zhiyi fell to the ground due to the force, and stared blankly at the young man with a vicious face.

The boy looked very unhappy, with undisguised disgust on his face, and kicked the head far away.

Fan Zhiyi was frightened. He looked in the direction of the head and saw the headless body of the female ghost swaying as she tried to pick up her own head. Fan Zhiyi felt goose bumps all over his body.

The young man did not put the sword back into the scabbard, nor did he look at Fan Zhiyi. He walked towards the exit. Fan Zhiyi immediately used all four legs to catch up with him.

What no one noticed was that the blood on Fan Zhiyi's arm dripped onto the ground and was miraculously absorbed by the ground in an instant.

The house returned to a deathly silence.

The moment he stepped out of the barrier, Fan Zhiyi's knees went weak and he knelt on the ground, gasping for breath.

This feeling of escaping death made him feel like he was dreaming, as if the next second he opened his eyes he would be lying on his beloved big bed again, and then began to repeat his monotonous life, going to work, coming home, washing up and reading novels.

Just looking up, he saw a straight street, empty of people, with quaint buildings on both sides. The wound on his arm was still painful, reminding him that everything that had just happened was not a dream, bringing him back to reality.

After running and sweating, Fan Zhiyi calmed down and felt cold when the wind blew.

What's more, he had thrown away his outer robe in order to make it easier to escape. If he had known earlier, he would have put it in his arms.

"Brother." The child saw them and ran out from the hidden corner.

For no apparent reason, Fan Zhiyi felt a sense of relief, as if he had escaped death. He smiled and waved the child away, "Brother is dirty and smells bad, don't get too close."

"Get up, let's go." The young man interrupted them. He didn't know when he moved ten steps away, and he hated not being able to be in the same space with Fan Zhiyi.

Fan Zhiyi had already noticed this; he wasn't a fool; he knew the boy disliked him. Now that Bai Bai was gone, Fan Zhiyi's future was uncertain, and he had no idea what to do next.

This is a shitty system. How long will it take for it to be online again?

Fan Zhiyi stood up. His legs were still weak. He bent over and supported his knees as he began to move forward tentatively and tremblingly.

The boy picked up the child and walked in front, with no intention of paying any attention to him.

Fan Zhiyi looked at his still bleeding hand and asked, "Excuse me, is there any medicine or something?" He scratched his head a little embarrassedly. This should be what he said, "My hand was bitten."

“…” The young man in front ignored him.

Fan Zhiyi: “…” Okay, you’re being cool and aloof, right?

"Excuse me, what's going on in that haunted house?" If only the damn Bai Bai was here, it would be great. He was thrown into this place without knowing anything. Now, if he wants to survive, it seems he has to hold on to the thigh of this seemingly powerful man in front of him.

"..." Fan Zhiyi was about to have a social anxiety attack. "No, brother, if you have any dissatisfaction with me, just tell me and let's try to solve it. There are only three of us now, and there are so many ghosts in that house. We can't cause a split."

"Fan Zhiyi, shut up, you're so noisy. Also, stay away from me, you stink." This was the most the boy spoke to him.

Fan Zhiyi shut up obediently this time, because he remembered what Bai Bai said, that his original body was abandoned in a haunted house by their team, and his name in this book world was also Fan Zhiyi.

So this person knew him, so he couldn't be one of the people who left him behind? Then what was going on?

But in this quiet atmosphere, following the young man forward, there was no one on either side, and there was no light at night, it was extremely dark. Fan Zhiyi was a little scared, and when he was scared, he wanted to speak.

When he was still alive, he lived in an old residential building. When he returned home at night, there was no light on the first floor. Fan Zhiyi would walk up the stairs alone, singing revolutionary songs loudly. He could even hear his own heartbeat and always felt that something would jump out from behind him in the next second.

"Come to think of it, it feels like that female ghost, the one holding a kitchen knife, seems different from the other ghosts in the house. Maybe she's the boss or something." Fan Zhiyi didn't expect the other party to pay any attention to him, but it would be super scary if no one interacted with him, so Fan Zhiyi looked at the child.

Come to think of it, even though he didn't know the child's name, he and the child were already close friends. Moreover, the child was very well-behaved, and Fan Zhiyi liked him very much: "What's the child's name?"

The child opened his black eyes and shook his head.

"Then I'll call you Xiaobao, okay?"

Xiaobao nodded, looking particularly well-behaved. Fan Zhiyi couldn't help but touch his head, causing the boy to quicken his pace in disgust.

Xiaobao's hair was messy and his face was dirty, but the boy didn't seem to dislike him at all. He was still holding him well. It seemed that he simply hated him, right?

Okay.
