Chapter 8 Sudden Battle



But then, the man sneered and, without hesitation, abandoned his longsword, pulling out a dagger from somewhere and thrusting it at Chen Qian's fist.

We've been tricked!

Shen Qian felt a sinking feeling in his heart. Just as he was feeling somewhat lost, everything went black before his eyes, and he lost consciousness again.

Woohoo!

The piercing siren seemed to be ringing right above his head, and he suddenly woke up, struggling to climb out of the stinking water.

The stench of blood in his ears and nose masked the foul smell, or perhaps it was the lingering effect of the life-or-death struggle that made Shen Qian oblivious to his current disheveled state.

Two corpses floated at his feet, one in front of the other.

The man who had almost killed him was now floating face up in the foul water, a rusty dagger stuck in his throat.

He shook his slightly dizzy head and tried to straighten his back.

Did the system take over his body again at the critical moment?

But what exactly happened?

Before he could sink in, he didn't have time to check his AFK (away from keyboard) history, because he could hear hurried footsteps coming from both the passages in front of and behind him.

When the bright beam of the flashlight shone on them, it was accompanied by a loud shout: "Hands behind your head, don't move!"

A sudden gust of wind arose, and two figures in uniforms waded through the water, rushing towards him.

Shen Qian knew that now was not the time to explain his identity. Upon hearing this, he raised his hands to cover his head without hesitation and pressed his body against the wall, behaving very obediently.

"Police officer! You're under arrest!"

With a cold shout from behind, a strong hand pressed him against the wall, and then a metal rope tightly bound his hands.
