Kuro gripped the hilt of the sword and slowly drew it.
"Fine, I won't drag this out any longer. Someone like you will be a threat sooner or later. I'll take care of you right here."
If we take advantage of her current low profile and eliminate her, there won't be any problems.
The knife was just a standard-issue military knife, not a famous one, but as Kuro swiped two fingers upwards, the girl clearly shuddered.
The blade gradually began to gleam.
That light made the hairs on her body stand on end.
Having lived on the Grand Line, she was far superior to the ignorant pirates of the East Blue.
The girl wanted to leave, but she couldn't move at all. The blade seemed to have locked onto her, and no matter where she ran, she would be hit.
You'll die!
That killing intent was genuine!
This man really wanted to kill me!
"The Unknown Divine Wind..."
"I surrender!"
"?"
Kuro wiped the blade, tilted his head to look at the girl, and saw her change, her body slowly shrinking into a seven or eight-year-old white-haired loli.
"I surrender. Do with me as you please."
The girl collapsed to the ground, rubbing her stomach. "Damn it, I exerted too much effort just now, and now I'm hungry again."
"They surrendered just like that?"
Kuro thought about it and gave up on killing her; he really wasn't that interested in killing a little girl.
"Tell me, who are you, and what is your purpose in coming to the East China Sea?"
“My name is Flor Rida. I come from the Grand Line. I am a user of the ‘Energy’ Fruit, which allows me to absorb the energy of others upon touching them.”
Flo Rita sat up, glaring fiercely at Kuro. "And who are you? With your strength, why are you still just a branch sergeant in the East Blue? Are the Navy blind? How can they not see a monster like you?"
The two exchanged a glance, remained silent for a moment, and then said in unison, "Of course, it's for safety!"
"Um?"
Kuro froze, looking at Flo Rita. In her eyes, he saw a hint of shock, and a touch of surprise.
Sheathing his sword, Kuro sat opposite her. The two looked at each other for a moment, then said in unison, "You go first."
"There are too many monsters in the Grand Line. I'm not strong enough. I don't want to go there (so I ran away from there)."
"..."
"!"
You understand me!
A true friend!
Kuro said excitedly, "I really don't want to go to the Grand Line. With my strength, I'm not strong enough for that. What about the Four Emperors and the GM Army? If I run into some powerful fighters, it would be so troublesome. Getting injured would be the least of my worries; I might even die."
Flo Lida nodded vigorously: "There are too many monsters on the Grand Line. I live in fear all the time, but I can't get enough to eat, so I had to come to the East Blue. The people here are weak and easy to fool. I love it here!"
"Not getting enough to eat?" Kuro glanced at her, then suddenly realized, "The downsides of your abilities?"
Lida lamented, "I am a 'Spirit Person' who ate the 'Spirit Fruit.' The downside of this ability is that I can't get enough to eat. Since I ate this fruit at the age of eight, I haven't had a full meal in ten years. There are too many monsters on the Grand Line, and I don't dare to be too blatant, so I came to the East Blue."
Flo Lida, 18 years old, from the Grand Line, is a user of the Spirit-Energy Fruit.
It can absorb all the vital energy of the person it touches and use it for its own benefit, but the downside is that it is difficult to get full.
However, she didn't want to become a pirate and attract the attention of the Navy, so after thinking it over, she came to the East Blue.
Being cautious by nature, she fabricated the rumor of "Florida's Treasure" to lure greedy people to the destination, then double-crossed them, and after obtaining the treasure, she would find a way to exchange it for food.
"You're going a bit too far. Look at these people, they've become emaciated from being starved by you."
Kuro pointed to the townsman who had fainted on the ground.
Hearing this, Lida felt even more aggrieved. "I told them they could leave their own food, but they were too scared and didn't leave any for themselves. I couldn't say it outright, and I was really anxious too."
Lida felt even more aggrieved when this was mentioned.
"I have to use my Observation Haki every day, which is already exhausting enough. Can't they just listen to me?"
Since becoming a 'spirit person', she has to exert a lot of effort to do everything. In order to conserve her strength, she has always maintained the appearance of an eight-year-old girl, and only uses her spirit to transform into her original age when fighting.
Not to mention that she has to use Observation Haki every day, which only makes her hungry faster.
She never intended to kill anyone; she just wanted to have enough to eat. The townspeople who tried to escape were simply weakened and knocked unconscious by her ability after she sensed them. They would recover in a few days.
She was originally planning to leave because she had almost completely devoured the island, and if she continued, the island's ecosystem would really collapse. However, she sensed someone's arrival and was thinking of doing one more job, but she didn't expect to encounter such a monster.
"I said, I've already surrendered. Even if you want to kill me, at least let me have a decent meal!" Lida said somewhat unwillingly.
Why should I kill you?
Kuro's eyes were filled with surprise. "Want to eat your fill? It's easy! Just join the Navy. The government is so rich, you can eat however you want."
"What a joke. I don't want to have anything to do with the Navy or pirates. I just want to eat my fill and don't want to fight."
"Come with me!"
Kuro pointed to himself and said, "Don't you think we're a perfect match? You want to eat your fill safely, and I want to live to die safely. If we're together, we can just drift along in the East Sea. Wouldn't that be wonderful?"
He had no intention of smuggling gold, but two heads are better than one. The fact that the other party was so strong yet unknown showed that he had a very strong sense of security.
