Chapter 6 You're Really a Scoundrel

Kuro needs this kind of talent!

Lida's eyes lit up too. Yes, this man seems quite suitable.

He holds a minor position in the navy, is quite strong, and doesn't seem to be the type to be a battle maniac. If I joined him, I could probably just eat and sleep all day long... that kind of life.

Lida drooled with longing.

“You only get one chance. Otherwise, I’ll take you back, announce that you’re an ability user, and then throw you into ‘Impelton.’ You know that place, right? It’s too difficult to get a full meal there,” Kuro threatened.

"Don't say anything, I promise, but you have to promise to let me eat until I'm 80% full... no, 60% full is enough!"

If I join him, I won't have to live in fear every day using my Observation Haki, and I can just move to a different place every now and then.

Her domineering aura was already very taxing; otherwise, she wouldn't have been able to devour an entire island in such a short time.

"I'll make sure you're well-fed!" Kuro assured him confidently.

Then he regretted it...

The cleanup of Flo Rita's situation was easy. After the townspeople woke up, Kuro simply told them that the monster had been punished by the heavens and had been struck dead by lightning, and that the ruins were proof of that.

He left half a month's worth of food for the townspeople, and he himself had half a month's worth of food left. He would only be back at the 153rd branch for two or three days. Even if a big eater came, how much could he possibly eat?

That was what Kuro originally thought.

"Lida! You ate half a month's worth of food in one meal?!"

Inside the office, Kuro roared at the white-haired little girl next to him.

Lida was still holding a carrot in her hand, chewing as she said:

"I can't help it, I'm just too hungry. I've been starving for the past few months while using my Observation Haki, I've never had a full meal. Besides, it'll be quick to get back, I left some food, so don't worry about it."

"How could we not care? That little bit of food isn't enough. What if we encounter a storm? What if we run into a Sea King? What if we run into some bored Shichibukai who's just here for a vacation in the East Blue!"

Kuro bared his teeth and claws, almost going berserk: "Then we'll be pitifully adrift at sea, swallowed by a huge wave and sinking to the bottom of the ocean. My dream will be over. What a joke!"

Lida stared at Kuro speechlessly, finally understanding why this man was only a sergeant.

I was already being cautious enough, but I didn't expect him to be even more cautious than me.

A person with superpowers may not be human, but you are truly cunning.
