They escaped!
Seeing that no one was chasing him from behind, William breathed a sigh of relief in the air.
The backup plan that was left would then be useless.
Otherwise, he was prepared to let the entire island explode with steam.
Thankfully, they didn't chase after us...
As for fighting, William was already fighting with a psychological shadow in his heart.
However, Kuro's murderous aura triggered him, and under its influence, he could no longer control the images in his mind.
William's mind was filled with images of the pirates who died back then, and the fragments of his own dead men, which completely extinguished his will to fight.
He always felt that he would die the same way as them, all because of the fear of Kuro wielding his sword, and it was getting deeper and deeper.
What should we do then?
Of course they ran away!
William didn't care why Kuro didn't chase after him. Logically, he could have done it, but it was a good thing that he didn't. He couldn't worry about that.
His dream is to become a great pirate, not to defeat Kuro; the two are not contradictory.
As for overcoming inner demons...
He can at least block one of Kuro's attacks now, which is an improvement.
Originally, he had been preoccupied with the memory of Kuro's stab when he was a child, but now it seemed that he could catch the stab, which meant that Kuro was not insurmountable.
He will continue to work hard to overcome this inner demon little by little, so that he won't be easily killed by Kuro.
"Kuro, aren't we going to chase them?" Lida asked Kuro on the rare beast island.
Kuro shook his head: "Why chase after him? It's not good if we catch him, and it's not good if we don't. Let's just leave it at that."
If we catch him, it wouldn't be right not to stab him a few times.
He'll lose face if he can't win her over...
Although he wanted William to become famous and experience what it felt like to live in constant fear and danger, he didn't want to use himself as a stepping stone.
As a dignified vice admiral and admiral candidate, how can he fail to capture a pirate from the East Blue? Wouldn't that make him look like Smoker, that idiot?
They tried to capture 30 million people but failed, which made him the fifth emperor.
He can't even catch a 30 million dollar prize that hasn't been decided yet. What's wrong with him? Is he going to become the Pirate King?
"I know what he looks like now, and the bounty is about to be issued. We just need to force him to come to the Grand Line."
Kuro took out the cigar box, picked up a cigar, then looked at the remaining stock in the cigar box and shook his head, saying, "Forget it, the cigars aren't urgent. It's more important for him to leave the East Sea."
Given the choice between satisfying his own desires and making someone he envied and resented suffer, Kuro chose the latter.
Why smoke a cigar!
Kuro is always upset if this guy doesn't have some bad luck on the Grand Line.
Why was he forced out of the East Sea after racking his brains trying to avoid leaving? And not only that, he ended up in a new world.
As a pirate, this guy managed to stay in the East Blue for so many years without being discovered. If Kuro hadn't wanted to know the origin of the cigar, probably no one would have discovered that such a thing was hidden in the East Blue.
He's a pirate!
Pirates and marines are different. Marines can choose not to be famous, but why should pirates not be famous? If they don't want to be famous, why be a pirate? They should go back to Shells Town and open a bathhouse!
But with his subordinates in front of him, he couldn't say that. He could only say, "His current reputation isn't enough for me to chase after him. Let the pirates of the Grand Line test his mettle."
These words garnered approval from the rest of the navy, except for Lida and Clooney.
Indeed, their Vice Admiral Kuro is quite remarkable. Why would he personally hunt down a pirate who has no reputation whatsoever?
"Let's go. Seeing the person is enough. We'll stay in the East China Sea for a while; I need to make sure this person leaves the East China Sea. Otherwise..."
If he's really determined not to leave, then even if Kuro thinks he's 'harmless,' he won't let him live.
Besides, this person isn't entirely harmless.
He also has the charge of secretly stealing the kingdom.
This is a classic case of someone trying to be a local bully. Even if Kuro wasn't envious, jealous, or resentful, he would never let him do such a thing.
...
On the flagship of the Sam Pirates' fleet, William landed on the ground, his hands swirling around to create a large amount of steam that clung to all his sailboats. Immediately afterward, a burst of steam erupted from the stern, making the ships even faster.
"William, are you alright?" Elmira asked anxiously as soon as she saw him.
William shook his head: "He tricked that Kuro and escaped. Damn it, why would a vice admiral target me?"
"Perhaps it was just a whim..."
Elmira thought for a moment and said, "We are indeed different from others in the East China Sea."
Everyone knows that the pirates in the East Blue are no match for them.
Perhaps it was because of this that the golden lion set its sights on them.
But with Jin Ni's strength, he could have wiped them all out, or at least reduced a large portion of them. So why did they escape after only losing some insignificant subordinates?
William had also been thinking about this, and finally, something dawned on him, and he murmured, "Arrogance, is it..."
He couldn't think of anything else besides this.
You can't exactly say he dislikes me in the East China Sea; that's a very weak reason.
Only the reason that he disdained to pursue him could convince William.
“William, what’s the next step?” Swell asked.
William glanced at his men. Apart from the men who hadn't made it ashore and who looked normal, his three surviving confidants all had expressions of resentment and frustration on their faces.
