Chapter 26

Chapter 26

Xuan Niao Paradise has a history of two hundred years. It was originally opened for children, but it was later discovered that adults also like such a fun place, so it has become a place loved by both adults and children.

It wasn't a holiday, so the amusement park wasn't crowded. Nan Shuyin, seeing characters she'd only ever seen in cartoons, exclaimed, "Brother! Look over there! I told you, Mengmeng Rabbit and Susu Cat are real! You always told me they were fake!"

She was so happy that she couldn't sit still in her wheelchair, twisting and turning as she looked around, until she finally realized that she hadn't brought the teddy bear with her.

Children's emotions can come and go like storms, Nan Shuyin covered her eyes with her hands.

Nan Ya Yin immediately knew something was wrong. "What's wrong?"

"I forgot to bring the teddy bear," Nan Shuyin said, wiping away her tears. "I'm the only one playing here."

Nan Yayin wiped away her tears, "It's okay, we'll bring it again next time, it will definitely forgive you."

She was so sad; she should have remembered to bring the teddy bear out and play with it.

“Then let’s go back and bring it over as well.” Qiao Yan squatted down as well.

Nan Shuyin shook her head, "No, that would trouble my sister again."

"How about you take these pictures with the terminal and show them to it?" Nan Yayin switched the terminal to the photography software and handed it to her sister.

Nan Shuyin was still crying, her fingers gripping the terminal, sobbing softly, "I was playing outside, I left it at home, boohoo."

But her older siblings were surrounding her, so she felt embarrassed to cry for too long, since they had already come out to play with her.

Xiao Lu's screen flashed, and she took out a small brown bear from her internal storage compartment. "I'm taking it with me."

Qiao Yan/Nan Yayin: "Wow."

"Xiao Lu!" Nan Shuyin exclaimed, grabbing its mechanical arm. "Thank you!"

She took a piece of candy out of her breast pocket. "This is for you."

Nan Yayin looked on with a mixture of amusement and exasperation. From his perspective, he no longer understood the innocence and naivety of children, but he found the scene quite adorable.

"So cute," Qiao Yan said with a smile.

It was as if he had spoken his mind aloud. "What?"

"I say Shuyin is really cute." Qiao Yan looked at him and then at Nan Shuyin. "Being able to cry for a teddy bear and give candy to the robot as a thank you gift, that's their friendship."

"You truly deserve to be called a teacher." Nan Yayin clapped her hands. "Has anyone ever said you'd be well-suited to be a kindergarten teacher?"

“You’re the first to say that, but I think I have some experience.” Qiao Yan looked him up and down.

"What do you mean?" Nan Ya Yin felt that her words were very pointed.

"The literal meaning." Qiao Yan smiled and walked forward.

Nan Yayin didn't understand. After thinking for a while, she felt that what she said must not be a nice thing, so she chased after her and questioned, "You're not talking about me, are you?"

"Who knows?" Qiao Yan walked faster and faster.

"You must be talking about me!" Nan Yayin stepped forward and grabbed Qiao Yan's clothes. "Isn't that right!"

Qiao Yan confirmed that Shu Yin and Xiao Lu were not far away, then turned to look at him, "Is that what you want?"

Her ambiguous words led Nan Ya Yin into another strange paradise. He opened and closed his mouth, finally managing to say, "Don't talk nonsense."

"Okay." Qiao Yan lowered her eyes. "I'm sorry."

"No apologizing!" He hated hearing Qiao Yan apologize every day. "What's there to apologize for?"

Nan Yayin ran towards Nan Shuyin as if fleeing, while Qiao Yan walked slowly over, always catching a glimpse of a bright yellow figure in his peripheral vision.

There was a person dressed as a mascot who had been following them from the entrance, and she noticed them not long after they left.

"It's not the right time yet," Qiao Yan thought. He needed to calm down and resolve the dangerous situation before he could even think about pursuing Nan Yayin.

When did they find out we were coming here? Did they know from the beginning, or was someone following us?

Xuan Niao Paradise is the largest amusement park on Bai Lu Star. Most families with children bring their kids here to play, so it's hard to guess how they found out about it.

Qiao Yan didn't make trouble here. She walked towards Nan Ya Yin and caught a glimpse of the mascot costume coming this way.

"What's wrong?" Nan Ya Yin asked, seeing her serious expression.

“Someone is following us,” Qiao Yan said softly.

"Follow them!" Nan Yayin whispered, then mimicked a serious expression, "Where are they?"

Qiao Yan wanted to laugh, but knowing that laughing now would surely anger Nan Ya Yin and cause her to run away alone in the square, she held back.

"That yellow duck costume."

"Hiding in a mascot costume? That's outrageous! It would be terrible if Shuyin wanted to take a picture with it." Nan Yayin pretended to be calm and walked to the wheelchair, staring intently at Nan Shuyin.

When they reached a small corner, there was a path that could lead to other areas from the back, but Qiao Yan had read the notice before coming in that it was under renovation, so most people went directly to the central stage area and few people would use this path. Qiao Yan thought it was time, so she told Xiao Lu and the others to go into the crowd first, but not to go too far or get too scattered.

The duck costumed character also crept over at this moment. Her vision was greatly impaired, and she often couldn't see people clearly.

Before she could even move, the doll's head was turned 180 degrees, and now she couldn't see anything. She tried to turn the headgear around, but was pushed and shoved, and didn't know where she was. Why were there so many people here? It was a weekday, so the crowd shouldn't be this big. Feeling that no one was pushing her anymore, she quickly turned her head and finally could see things again.

Before he could catch his breath, he felt someone grab his throat. "Whose orders did you come here on?"

Qiao Yan!

With her neck being choked, she couldn't speak, and clearly, she couldn't even get any air in. Her brain quickly became oxygen-deprived, and the mascot costume was already stuffy, making her vision blurry.

She needs to breathe!

Suddenly, the sky brightened, and someone removed her hood.

"Qi Haiwei?" Qiao Yan released his grip in shock. "How could it be you?"

Qi Haiwei took a deep breath and rubbed her neck. "I almost died."

"I came because I was worried. Didn't I tell you to be careful of others?" Qi Haiwei said, panting. "Who knew you would not only be careless but also run into such a crowded place?"

"How did you know I was here?" Qiao Yan frowned. "Shouldn't you be in class today?"

Qi Haiwei showed her the terminal, which read, "Qiao Yan is about to go to Xuan Niao Paradise. Accompanying him are a male Omega, a child, and a robot."

"Don't you understand? They can see everything you do." Qi Haiwei rubbed her neck. "If I had known you could even notice me, I wouldn't have done all this to make things worse."

It's so clear, it's like they've installed surveillance on her. Where exactly is the problem?

Nan Shuyin was unaware that the most famous park in the new district was actually Xuan Niao Paradise. She only learned about it from Xiao Lu, and the last thing she learned was from the hovercar.

She only mentioned Blackbird Paradise once.

Qiao Yan glanced at the time the message was sent; it happened right when she left the hospital.

There's absolutely no possibility that Xiao Lu could be hacked, so it must be the hovercar. Eavesdropping? Or hacking?

If hacked, he could simply drive the hovercar to their desired location without attracting attention at the Blackbird Paradise.

"Is this only sent to you?" Qiao Yan looked at the virtual sender on her terminal.

Qi Haiwei shook her head, "I don't think she only sent it to me. I've already clearly refused. She's probably just trying anything as a last resort."

He rejected her, yet he still sent her the message? Is that even possible?

Oh no!

Qiao Yan immediately realized that she had been moved away. "Your disguise skills need to be improved. I will talk to your instructor."

What? Qi Haiwei stared in disbelief, clutching the hood.

We've fallen for their trap!

Qiao Yan didn't think they would message Qi Haiwei again. Unless Qi Haiwei was lying to her, there was only one possibility: she had been unintentionally used by them to attract attention.

Qiao Yan had always believed she was their ultimate target; that if they were together, she would be their first enemy. Now it seems they weren't so kind; they had been watching "us" all along!

She rushed out of the alley, only to be met by a crowd; there hadn't been this many people just moments before. Why now of all times!

A burst of loud music blared, "Welcome everyone to our Happy Dream Factory! Now it's time to sing your hearts out!"

Qiao Yan looked at the people a few meters away, forcefully pushed through the crowd, and called out, "Nan Yayin! Xiao Lu!"

She shouted with all her might, but the crowded people around her distorted her voice, and the music on stage completely drowned it out.

"Nan Yayin! Xiao Lu!"

careful!

Qiao Yan couldn't hurt the innocent people around her, so she begged them to make way for her, but it was too noisy. The drumbeats of the music completely drowned out her voice, and the passersby around her covered their ears and shouted, "What?"

hateful!

Qiao Yan forcefully pushed through the crowd, and the people around her kept complaining. She apologized all the way, and when there were only a few people left, she seemed to suddenly hear a gunshot.

The music on stage was exhilarating, but the familiar figure before her eyes was nowhere to be seen.

Several people in front of her screamed loudly, and Qiao Yan's ears rang. She could only hear clearly after the piercing sound ended.

"Murder! Murder!"

People in circles around them heard the news and scattered in panic.

Qiao Yan was bumped several times. She tried her best to support herself and move forward. Everyone was running away, but no one knew where they were running to.

The crowd was shouting for help and uttering terrifying words like "murder," yet the performers on stage were still singing energetically songs dedicated to adults and children.

Qiao Yan felt as if she was about to drown in the sea. She tried to push the surface of the sea, but what she was met with was an even higher wave.

"Stop running! You hit someone, you know that?!" The man's voice sounded extremely impatient. "I told you to stop running! You hit a child!"

Upon hearing Nan Yayin's voice, Qiao Yan blocked the crowd that was about to rush towards her.
