Daily Life 3 [Extra]

Daily Life 3

The entire planet Bailu has no winter season. Since birth, Nan Yayin has only seen sunny days and light rain, and has never even seen a downpour.

Qiao Yan told him that he couldn't even imagine snowing, and he could only write the character because he had learned it in a book.

"Is it snowing all the time on the Great Cold Star?" Nan Yayin asked, her voice filled not with doubt, but with bewilderment.

Qiao Yan sat down next to him. "It's been snowing the whole time. There's only the difference between light snow, heavy snow, and blizzards."

"So the reason you couldn't come back that time was because of the blizzard."

Qiao Yan nodded, "Yes, it's difficult to build transportation infrastructure on the Great Cold Star. There are people living underground, but starship ports can't be built underground on the Great Cold Star. We still have to rely on surface transportation, and we can't leave when there's a blizzard."

Nan Yayin had no concept of snow, only finding it troublesome. He leaned against Qiao Yan, feeling a little sleepy. "Will we be unable to leave then?"

Qiao Yan rubbed his eyes. "I checked the recent weather. The wind and snow on the Great Cold Star are relatively mild right now, so it won't happen."

Nan Ya Yin leaned against her and murmured "Mmm" before falling asleep. His eyes were very sore, probably because he had been dealing with too much work these past two days, constantly running around. He could clearly feel that his health had deteriorated considerably; before, he could even work non-stop without sleep and still manage.

It seems that when someone cares about his health, he becomes a little weaker. He snuggled into Qiao Yan's arms and fell asleep, feeling her gently pressing his temples and patting his back, making him even sleepier than before.

"Go to sleep, I'll wake you when we get there." After saying this, Nan Yayin fell asleep. Lately, he had been feeling inexplicably at ease, but he didn't think about why.

When he woke up, he was already in the car on his way to the hotel.

He opened his eyes and looked around, only to see Shuyin and a miniature version of Xiaolu sitting opposite him.

"Sister said she was going to buy food, she just left." Nan Shuyin hugged Xiao Lu. "Didn't brother sleep last night?"

Nan Yayin breathed a sigh of relief when she realized that Qiao Yan hadn't disappeared. "I didn't sleep for too long."

He was too embarrassed to tell his sister that he couldn't sleep because he was too excited, and that Qiao Yan had to hold him until he forced himself to fall asleep in the middle of the night.

Nan Shuyin looked around, covered Xiao Lu's ears, and said to her brother, "I couldn't sleep last night. I got up and looked at my schoolbag many times."

“Brother, look outside!” Nan Shuyin pointed to the window. “Sister said it’s snowing.”

Nan Yayin looked out the window and saw something white and fluffy floating down from the sky to the ground.

He pressed himself against the windowpane, and the snowflakes looked like little elves to him.

Suddenly, something warm touched his cheek. He turned his head and saw it was Qiao Yan.

"Hot ginger tea." Qiao Yan placed it in his hand. "Don't stand too close to the window, it's cold outside."

"Is this snow?" Nan Yayin sipped her ginger tea, unsurprisingly sticking out her tongue from the spiciness.

Qiao Yan laughed without giving her any face, "It's the local custom here that ginger tea only has a little bit of sugar in it, so drink it slowly."

Nan Yayin coughed and accused, "Why didn't you say so sooner?"

"I didn't even have time to say anything," Qiao Yan said innocently. "I just went to order food, and when I saw you were asleep, I ordered this restaurant. It's quite a distance from here to where we're staying. You can look around the whole way, but there's not much to do outside in this heavy snow."

Nan Yayin placed the ginger tea on the table and waited for Qiao Yan to sit down and lean against her.

"What's wrong? Are you still sleepy?" Qiao Yan rubbed his neck and teased him softly, "You didn't sleep at all in the first half of the night, I thought you would be full of energy today."

"I don't want to sleep." Nan Ya Yin leaned against her. "I've had enough sleep."

He suddenly remembered, "How did I just get off the starship?"

“It was your sister who carried you down,” Nan Shuyin said slyly. “Brother, you slept so soundly. You must have stayed up all night just like me.”

Nan Ya Yin's ears turned bright red, and she sat up straight immediately. "I... I'm just a little excited."

Watching the two of them go back and forth, Qiao Yan smiled, took a sip of ginger tea, and then coughed lightly. This time, the ginger tea seemed to be even spicier than before.

"Are you alright?" Nan Ya Yin looked at her. "Didn't you say you were going to wake me up?"

Qiao Yan coughed even harder after hearing what he said. Nan Ya Yin handed her a tissue and waited for her to wipe her mouth before saying, "Didn't I call you? I just couldn't wake you up."

"ah?"

"You didn't want to wake up at all. Every time I called you to get up, you would slap my hand away. I had been calling you for half an hour beforehand." Qiao Yan found the scene amusing. Fortunately, the luggage was delivered directly to their hotel this time, otherwise Qiao Yan didn't know how much stuff she would have to push.

"Yes, really?" Nan Yayin scratched her face.

Qiao Yan feigned lingering fear and said, "I just found out you have a bad temper when you wake up. I finally managed to wake you up and you glared at me, no, you gave me a disapproving look."

Nan Yayin was so amused she almost got angry. "It's not that exaggerated, is it?"

He tugged at Qiao Yan's sleeve, "It can't be that exaggerated, can it?"

Qiao Yan immediately waved her hand, "No, I was exaggerating."

Nan Yayin snorted and turned to look at the snow outside. It was snowing, and it wasn't very bright outside. The dark windowpane reflected light like a mirror, and apart from her own flushed face, she could also see Qiao Yan turning to the side and gently shaking his shoulders.

Still laughing, Nan Yayin pressed her face against the glass, feeling as if she were so hot she could melt the glass.

He didn't know if it was because of that sentence, but when he first arrived at the hotel, he really felt dizzy and lightheaded.

Qiao Yan immediately noticed that something was wrong with him and put her arm around him, asking, "What's wrong?"

Nan Yayin shook his head. He felt unwell, but it would be too much of a downer to have a problem on the very first day.

"Where should we go now?" His voice was hoarse, a stark contrast to his earlier demeanor.

Qiao Yan put her arm around him and led him inside, saying, "We're not going anywhere. Let's go into the room first and take your temperature."

"It's not that exaggerated." Nan Ya Yin didn't want to walk on her own after being led by her, and leaned against her like a child who had just learned to walk.

Nan Shuyin followed behind them, "Brother, have you been drinking?"

Qiao Yan used his other hand to hold Nan Shuyin's hand. "Yes, he got a little drunk from the ginger tea."

Nan Shuyin chuckled and said, "Brother's alcohol tolerance is so low."

Upon entering the room, Qiao Yan found the medicine and thermometer in the luggage that had been delivered. "Go sit on the bed."

Upon hearing this, Nan Yayin sat on the bed, her legs together, sitting upright as if she were in class.

"Okay, you're so obedient," Qiao Yan said, suppressing a laugh as she brought the things over.

Nan Yayin hugged her and said in a hoarse voice, "I don't have a fever."

"This isn't something you can decide." Qiao Yan placed the thermometer on him and held him for a while.

"38 degrees Celsius, you still have a fever," Qiao Yan said. "Take a pill first."

Nan Yayin obediently swallowed the medicine from her hand, drank some water, and lay down on the bed, completely limp and motionless.

After adjusting the temperature, Qiao Yan said to Shu Yin, "I've prepared a room just for you."

Their hotel room was more like a living room, complete with a bedroom, kitchen, and living room.

After settling Nan Shuyin in, Qiao Yan returned to their bedroom.

Nan Yayin stirred when she heard the sound, probably knowing that Qiao Yan had arrived and then went to rest.

"Don't you feel uncomfortable sleeping like this?" Qiao Yan saw that his face was buried in the pillow and tried to help him pull it out, but her hand was wet and cold.

"What's wrong?" Qiao Yan asked softly, turning on the bedside lamp a little brighter.

Nan Ya Yin's voice was so hoarse she could barely speak. Leaning on her shoulder, she murmured, "I..."

“It’s normal to get sick.” Qiao Yan knew he was starting to complain about himself again. “Only people get sick.”

She kissed his forehead. "It's just a fever. You'll be fine soon after taking the medicine."

Nan Yayin pushed her away a little, "Don't let me infect you too."

My throat felt like it was being slashed by a razor blade.

“You’ve just arrived and aren’t used to the weather here yet.” Qiao Yan grabbed his wrist. “I caught a cold the first time I came here because it was so cold.”

"But."

"The rides on Dahanxing won't run away, and we have plenty of time to experience them." Qiao Yan wiped his tears with a tissue. "You poor thing, how can you have so many tears? Are you thirsty?"

Being sick always makes people instinctively want to be close to the people they trust and love, and Nan Ya Yin was no exception. He leaned into Qiao Yan's arms and shook his head.

“You’re too tired.” Qiao Yan patted his back. “That’s why you get sick when you relax. You’ll get better soon.”

She touched his slightly damp hair. "You're already sweating."

Nan Yayin didn't want Qiao Yan to leave, but she had to go get some water. He sat on the bed waiting for her, and when she came in, he snuggled into her arms.

"Sleep for a while?"

Nan Yayin shook her head; she had slept long enough today.

"Shall I hold you and sleep for a while?" Qiao Yan lay down.

Nan Yayin didn't want to sleep, but after hearing what she said, she felt she should sleep a little longer.

He nestled close to Qiao Yan's neck, falling asleep to the scent of cream, "Qiao Yan."

"Um?"

Do you find me annoying?

Why do you say that?

"Because I have heat cycles and I get sick."

"I didn't know you were so hard on yourself. Everyone gets sick sometimes. Alphas are susceptible to illness too."

“There is no such thing as a Beta,” Nan Ya Yin retorted.

Qiao Yan saw that this little troll was almost asleep, but a single sentence woke him up.

“Betas get sick too.” Qiao Yan kissed him. “Everyone gets sick.”

Nan Ya Yin nestled closer to listen to her speak, feeling the trembling on her neck until his breathing gradually became steady.

Qiao Yan looked at his profile, which was slightly illuminated, and smiled as she poked his brow, which was furrowed even in his sleep. "It won't be a bother, it will only make people feel sorry for you."

When Nan Ya Yin woke up the next day, she felt much better. She opened her eyes and saw Qiao Yan, who was already up. She was sitting by the window, and snowflakes were whistling by outside.

Hearing him wake up, Qiao Yan came over and touched his forehead with hers. "I told you I'd be fine soon."

She kissed him. "Drink some water."

Nan Yayin looked up at her, stunned and speechless.

"What's wrong?"

"I think I've dreamt about this scene before. You were sitting by the window, it was snowing heavily outside, and then you came over..." He stammered, only looking at the tenderness in her eyes.

So dreams can come true after all. Nan Ya Yin reached out and hugged Qiao Yan. He felt the glands on the back of his neck throbbing. He pleaded, "Qiao Yan, can you mark me?"
