Chapter 60: Empty Shell

Liu Ruyan drank some wine.

The neighbors were very enthusiastic, or rather too enthusiastic. She was as innocent as a little white rabbit and she couldn't resist their enthusiasm at all.

So she, who had never touched alcohol before, drank a little.

During this period, Aunt Zhao and her neighbor Aunt Wang kept talking to her, making her dizzy.

What they repeatedly told her was, "Chen Ya is a good boy, you must hold on to him."

Liu Ruyan was at a loss whether to laugh or cry.

Just now when they came out of the Regent Hotel, Zhao Yanan was warning Chen Ya not to take advantage of her easily, because Liu Ruyan's status was too high for him to reach for.

Unexpectedly, when she turned around, she was told something similar yet completely opposite.

She wouldn't be angry. After all, these kind neighbors didn't know she was very wealthy.

Liu Ruyan still felt quite warm.

In the past, let alone having meals with her neighbors, she didn’t even have any neighbors.

Although the cooking skills of the meals brought by each family vary, they all taste equally warm.

Before coming to Chen Ya's place, she had never eaten such a warm meal.

When Liu Ruyan returned home, she was still leaning against the wall, feeling dizzy.

The house was unstable and kept turning around. If she didn't hold on to the wall, it would collapse, so she had to hold on to the wall.

"Ugh." She made a retching sound, her stomach feeling uncomfortable.

"With your drinking habit, you'll basically never drink again," Chen Ya whispered in her ear. "Did you hear me? Stop drinking."

"You're so annoying~" Liu Ruyan put her hand on his face.

Chen Ya took her hands away, lifted her armpits from behind, and dragged her into the bedroom.

"The stars are blinking, and the moon is drawing question marks~~"

Liu Ruyan sang with a completely out-of-tune voice, which annoyed Chen Ya.

He threw her on the bed, took off her shoes, and threw them outside.

Liu Ruyan immediately crumpled the cup into a ball and clamped the quilt between her thighs.

"Bed! I missed you!"

She closed her eyes, hugged the quilt and sucked it with a look of happiness on her face. Chen Ya felt a little sorry for her and started to think about whether to buy her a bed.

After all, she had been sleeping on the sofa for three days.

He took a glass of water and lifted her neck up: "Drink water."

Liu Ruyan held the cup in both hands, drank the water in one breath, and lay back on the bed with a "ha" sound. She wrapped her legs around Chen Ya in a very ungraceful manner, and her hands were still touching him randomly.

"They all told me to hold you tight... Hey, those abdominal muscles... What is this..."

Chen Ya was sweating. How could this be called controlling him? This was actually holding him in his arms.

"Stay away from me," Chen Ya shook her hand away, "This drinking habit is unmatched."

"I came from the mountains, bringing orchid grass~"

Liu Ruyan started singing again.

Chen Ya covered his ears and said, "Can you please stop singing? I'd rather have a cat than you!"

The next day, when Liu Ruyan woke up, she felt sore all over and felt extremely uncomfortable.

The clothes were changed again.

She staggered out barefoot. Chen Ya, who rarely got up earlier than her, was still sleeping soundly on the sofa.

"Hey." Liu Ruyan pushed him awake, "You changed my clothes, why didn't you take off my stockings?"

"Hmm?" Chen Ya looked at her sleepily, his mind still not coming to its senses.

"When I woke up in the morning, my thighs were so itchy from being squeezed."

Chen Ya was dazed and uttered a dazed sound: "Hmm?"

He felt that Liu Ruyan had become more and more spoiled recently.

Liu Ruyan asked, "Why are all the people living in this building disabled?"

Chen Ya turned over and wanted to sleep a little longer, but she pulled him back.

"The building is full of disabled volunteers, right?"

Chen Ya was so annoyed that he asked, "Do you know what time you stayed up last night?"

"have no idea."

Liu Ruyan climbed onto the sofa and asked again, "Are you disabled too?"

"I'm mentally disabled, I'm a psychopath, okay?"

"Why is everyone disabled?"

Liu Ruyan looked as if she would not give up until he answered.

Chen Ya opened his eyes with great difficulty and said uncomfortably:

"This is welfare housing provided by the foundation to disabled volunteers, so naturally it's occupied by disabled people."

“Oh!~”

Liu Ruyan woke up.

No wonder there are wheelchair buttons with voice announcements in the elevator of this building, and the various disabled facilities are also very well built.

Just as he closed his eyes, Liu Ruyan shook him awake again: "How many things are you hiding from me?"

"I don't like eating cucumbers with knives."

"What is this?"

Chen Ya didn't have a hangover, but his head started to hurt.

"You said it would be great if you could just go home? Why did you come back with me? Yesterday I told you you were just a bunch of empty talk, and you weren't even angry?"

"I'm not angry!" Liu Ruyan said loudly, "Because I'm no longer just a shell. I have dreams now."

She climbed up and down on Chen Ya, extremely excited.

After waiting for a long time, Chen Ya didn't ask her what her dream was, so she took the initiative to say:

“I want to be a writer.”

"oh."

“I want everyone to read my work, praise my writing skills, and be obsessed with my words.”

"oh."

"Is it superficial?"

Chen Ya turned over and sighed.

It was so hard to get a nap today.

"It's not superficial. Most writers initially started writing because of this, and then their mindset changed."

"What has it transformed into?" Liu Ruyan wanted to learn the correct mindset for writing.

“It’s become, let’s just make the fucking buck first.”
