During the second long break, there's a morning exercise session, and students who have handed in their papers all walk out.

Dong Yangyang darted over from behind and plopped down on Ruan Bei's desk: "Hey bro, how did the exam go?"

"I think it went well; I answered quite smoothly," Ruan Bei said with a smile.

"I knew it! Look at your pen, scribbling away non-stop." Dong Yangyang was sitting in the third row of a group, diagonally opposite Ruan Bei.

Ruan Bei smiled but didn't say anything. If you learn English, you can do tests really fast, since there's less to write.

Lin Dengke packed his things, picked up a vocabulary memorization booklet, and stood up to make way. Dong Yangyang then pulled Ruan Bei along as they walked out.

"Dude, can you share some English learning tips?"

Lin Dengke, who was walking ahead, slowed down. Ruan Bei didn't notice. After thinking for a moment, he brought out his experience from his previous life: "When I was on leave at home, I watched some English movies and compared them with the context of the plot. I found that it helped me memorize words. You know, I used to have trouble memorizing words."

Watching movies is much more enjoyable than simply memorizing vocabulary. Dong Yangyang was immediately intrigued: "That's a good method. I'll try it later."

The two walked out chatting and laughing, and Dong Yangyang even asked Ruan Bei to recommend a few movies to him.

After that, Ruan Bei had long forgotten how to do the morning exercises, only remembering a few movements. Fortunately, he was tall enough to stand behind and learn from the students in front, and he managed to do them alright, albeit with some stumbles.

The following lessons were nothing special, just a regular class. After such a long break, Ruan Bei felt that she was falling behind the teacher's pace.

For example, when explaining a problem, if a formula is mentioned only briefly, Ruan Bei has to go back and look at what the formula looks like and how to use it.

He wasn't in a hurry; he listened to as much as he could and would catch up on the lessons he missed later.

He remembers that there were two more rounds of review in his senior year of high school, and all the high school content would be reviewed twice. As long as he could keep up with the pace before then, that would be fine.

His home wasn't far from the school, so he didn't stay at school for lunch and went home for dinner after school. When he passed the intersection outside the community, Ruan Bei looked left and right, but didn't see Ran Yusheng, so he didn't pay any more attention and went straight home.

Mom had already prepared lunch. After eating, Ruan Bei went back to her room and found all her old junior high and high school textbooks.

Simply looking at the textbook and memorizing the knowledge points isn't very effective, so he does exercises, referring to the steps in the answer key to find the relevant knowledge points, and then comparing them with his existing memory. This helps him quickly recall the information.

I did two math problems to help with my digestion, then took a half-hour nap before going to class.

I was supposed to have an English class this afternoon, but I gave it to the Chinese teacher.

Having been given a second chance, Ruan Bei became engrossed in studying. Every time he recalled a piece of knowledge, he felt a sense of accomplishment as he slowly returned to his peak.

Because there are two evening self-study sessions, and the school gates are closed in the evening, we eat in the cafeteria.

The cafeteria at No. 1 High School was so-so; the food was neither good nor bad, just typical cafeteria food, nothing special. Ruan Bei, Dong Yangyang, and a few other male classmates ate a little something together.

It was almost nine o'clock when Ruan Bei finished her evening self-study session. She was stunned when she stepped out of the school gate. Was there no more public transportation?

Dong Yangyang pushed her bicycle out: "Ruan Bei, where's your bike?"

Ruan Bei: "..."

Oh right, he went home at noon and should have come by bicycle...

In the end, Dong Yangyang kindly gave him a ride, and luckily Dong Yangyang's car was big enough to carry people.

To thank him, Ruan Bei brought him some food the next morning. Dong Yangyang was so eager to pay for his meals that he asked Ruan Bei to cover the cost of breakfast.
