critical moment
"There are zombies outside, can you sleep?" Li Pingan asked without getting up.
"Huh?" Annie reacted. She hadn't really wanted to sleep here. After all, the zombies outside were small, but numerous. What if something unexpected happened and they started a riot? But when she saw Li Ping'an, she suddenly felt relieved and nodded.
At night, the two took off their coats and spread them on the bed, then lay flat on the bed side by side. Hearing the rustling sounds outside the house, Annie was still a little scared and curled up in Li Pingan's arms.
Li Ping'an was half asleep and half awake when Annie suddenly leaned close to her ear and whispered, "Ping'an, this is so strange. I didn't see the teacher just now." Although there were fewer teachers than students in the school, when she thought about it now, she didn't see a single teacher in the pile of zombies just now. There were only little carrot-head zombies.
Li Ping'an had encountered a lot of things today. He had finally forced himself not to think too much. Just as he was about to fall asleep, he heard Annie's words. His head suddenly became clear, and he half sat up with an unclear expression.
Annie was startled by Li Ping'an's action. She thought she was going to the bathroom. "Ping'an, do you want to go to the bathroom? There is no bathroom here. I can only ask you to go to the corner."
Li Ping'an looked at Annie strangely and said that she didn't use her brain. She could realize that there were no adult zombies in the zombie group just now. But she used her brain, but didn't want to think about what it meant.
"Ping'an, it's okay, I won't look at you." Annie thought she was very considerate. After all, people can't be held to death by urine.
"Annie, are you sure you didn't see an adult zombie just now?" Li Pingan confirmed again.
Anne twisted her curls around her fingers, thought for a moment, and nodded emphatically, "I'm sure."
"Where have all the adults gone?" Annie's words drifted away along with Li Ping'an's thoughts.
The two of them sat cross-legged on the bed and thought for a long time, but they didn't expect that there was silence outside the room, with only the rustling sound of scratching at the door.
"Forget it, don't think about it, let's go to bed quickly." I have to get up early tomorrow, and I have to escape quickly while there are not many zombies.
Seeing this, Annie nodded and lay down obediently. She just closed her eyes and suddenly opened them again, "Ping An, I think I heard the sound of glass breaking."
"Is it the door outside the security room?" Li Ping'an got out of bed, walked out of the small room, and looked at the door of the security room in the moonlight. There was no damage on the door.
After listening carefully, Annie shook her head and said, "No, it seems to be a little further away." Then, Annie got out of bed, walked to the small window and looked out.
This primary school was built in a very typical style. Through the window, one could just see the library on the first floor opposite. The second and third floors above the library were all lecture halls. At this moment, the windows of the lecture halls were crowded with people. With her excellent eyesight, Anne saw that the cracks on the glass were rapidly expanding.
Annie quickly called Li Pingan over in a low voice, and as if she had forgotten that she couldn't see, she pointed to the location of the tiered classroom and described to her everything she saw.
After listening to this, Li Ping'an's face turned unhappy. After a little thought, he understood that when the zombie outbreak occurred, all the faculty and staff of the school should have been holding a meeting, so there were only little zombies outside, and the glass facing them was almost broken. These adult zombies must have discovered that they were here.
We can't stay here anymore. It won't be long before those zombies rush over.
Li Ping'an quickly asked Annie to pack up her things, and she went to the security room outside to see if there was any other exit.
The security room was built at the school gate, with one wall facing outside the school. There was a sliding window on this wall, but it was welded with steel bars just to prevent theft. Li Ping'an pushed it with his hands but couldn't move it.
Just at this moment, Annie poked her head out, and Li Pingan pointed outside the door and asked in a low voice, "Are there many zombies?"
After this day, Annie became a lot braver. She nodded and whispered, "They all gathered here, but they didn't bang on the door." They just sniffed at the door, walked back and forth, and occasionally roared.
Suddenly, there was a sound of breaking glass in the distance. Annie hurriedly said, "Ping An, the glass is breaking, those zombies are coming."
The zombies in the lecture hall jumped down from the upper floors like dumplings, fell in the flower bed in front of the library, then stood up staggeringly and ran towards this side. I don’t know if it’s because these adult zombies have been trapped until now, their agility is much lower than that of the zombies outside.
Seeing the adult zombies coming, the little zombies seemed to have found their backbone. Their roars came one after another, and the sounds of collisions became much louder.
Annie was shocked by this scene. Could it be that these zombies still retained their intelligence?
Time was too urgent, so Li Ping'an rummaged through the boxes and cabinets much faster. Finally, he found an electric saw in a cardboard box in the corner. He turned on the switch, but there was no power. Damn, listening to Annie's report, Li Ping'an was anxious. If there was no power, he would just use force to saw it.
The sound of sawing steel bars was not pleasant. Li Ping'an frowned and pulled the steel bars back and forth desperately. Annie took the opportunity to push all the movable objects in the house to the door.
Through the glass in the security room, Annie could clearly see the appearance of the adult zombies in the school. They had green faces and fangs, and there were pitted wounds on their faces, which looked like they were bitten by humans. Most of the adult zombies that arrived first were small in stature, and they didn't hit the door with much force, but the zombie that staggered in at the end was tall and looked like a physical education teacher. If they hit the door a few times, it would be hard to say how long the door could hold.
Li Ping'an cursed in his heart while sawing, what a crap APP, it throws people into the apocalypse and doesn't even give them some cheats, at least to make them stronger.
He cursed and sawed at the same time, and his arms were almost sore. Although Annie did not broadcast the live situation, judging from the force of the door being hit, he didn't know what the situation was like outside.
After sawing and bending for a long time, a steel bar was finally pulled out. After trying it again, not only her, but even little Annie couldn't get out.
"Ping'an, they are about to come in." Annie was afraid of affecting Li Ping'an and also afraid of irritating the zombies outside, so she had been moving things quietly. But now, looking at the door that was about to be kicked open, she couldn't help but say something.
Li Ping'an's mind was spinning rapidly. If time ran out, could he hold Annie by himself and protect her in his arms...
Her hands kept moving, and her thoughts kept going. Li Ping'an felt like she was about to explode. But at this moment, her cell phone rang, and the continuous "ding dong" sounds made her upset.
Pulling one hand out, he picked it up and took a look. "Login Rewards," "Newbie Gift Pack," "Task Completion Rewards." Holding a glimmer of hope, Li Pingan clicked on "Login Rewards" first. "Congratulations on winning the "Daily Miles" (Individual Only): Our slogan is "Don't Time Out."
Then click on the "Newbie Gift Pack" and it says, "Congratulations on getting your Favorability Up: If you encounter a difficult customer, this can help you turn danger into safety."
Only one was left. Li Ping'an's hands began to tremble. He clicked on "Mission Completion Rewards." "Congratulations on successfully delivering a case of mineral water and receiving a five-star rating from the guest. As a reward, you'll receive a Doraemon Anywhere Door (one-time use): It can help you pass through any wall. You can bring your guests to experience this magical gift together for fifteen seconds. But be careful, the prop door can't distinguish between friend and foe."
Seeing this, Li Pingan breathed a sigh of relief. He finally got one that he could use now and clicked "Confirm to use."
The page started to turn again. Li Pingan felt annoyed and simply threw down the saw in his hand. He went to the door and pushed it open with Annie.
Annie had been staring at the door and was surprised by her behavior. Just as she was about to ask, Li Pingan said, "Trust me, you'll be able to go out in a while."
Annie knew that Li Ping'an was somewhat magical, and was convinced by her words, so she didn't ask any more questions.
Although Li Ping'an couldn't see the zombies, he could feel the banging sounds coming from outside the door, see the cracks on the glass and the shaking of the door lock. It seemed that the door would not hold on for much longer.
Li Ping'an pushed the door while keeping an eye on his phone. Finally, after turning around countless times, a small door that looked like a keychain appeared in Li Ping'an's hand. At this moment, the adult zombie outside the house suddenly attacked with a fierce blow, and the door lock was opened by this strong impact. Li Ping'an hurriedly held the phone and the small door tightly in his hand.
Seeing that the door had been broken, he turned around and stuffed the small door into Annie's hands, "Hurry, Annie, stick it to the wall." As he said, he used all his strength to push the door up.
Annie didn't know what this thing was for, but she still stuck it to the wall with trembling hands. A white light flashed, and a door appeared on the wall. Just as Annie was stunned, Li Pingan rushed over from behind and pulled Annie out.
There were dense footsteps and banging sounds coming from behind. Annie took the opportunity to look back. The zombies squeezed in from the broken door, bumped past the chairs, small sofas and other things behind the door, and ran straight towards the two of them through the portal.
