Chapter 154 Heart-Shaped Wreath

Cheng Yuanxing came out of the bathroom after he had dressed properly.

Not seeing what she wanted to see, a hint of disappointment flashed across An Ruoning's eyes.

Cheng Yuanxing looked at An Ruoning's flushed face. What was wrong? He had only taken a shower, and it hadn't been that long. Why was her face so red? Was she shy?

Cheng Yuanxing had no idea that this wasn't shyness at all, but rather that An Ruoning had thought of something that made her blood boil.

Cheng Yuanxing walked towards An Ruoning, stopped in front of her, his dark eyes looking at her.

The two were standing very close, and the scent of men's shower gel seemed to surround An Ruoning. If she hadn't had good self-control, she probably would have had a nosebleed by now.

When their eyes met, An Ruoning was very nervous.

Her heart was pounding so loudly it was like thunder, making her ears hurt.

"Move aside, you're blocking my way from getting my phone," Cheng Yuanxing said, oblivious to the situation.

An Ruoning awkwardly stepped aside to make room for her; it turned out she had been presumptuous.

Cheng Yuanxing had his back to An Ruoning, and a tiny smile appeared on his lips. Even though it was just a tiny smile, it was as bright as the spring sunshine in March. It was a pity that An Ruoning didn't see it.

He opened the drawer next to his desk, and An Ruoning's phone lay quietly inside.

The yellow Pikachu-patterned phone case is facing upwards.

Cheng Yuanxing found it hard to believe that a woman who seemed to have a mature and alluring style would use such a cute phone case, which was completely inconsistent with her persona.

Thinking about this, he suddenly found An Ruoning a little bit cute.

"Here you go." Cheng Yuanxing turned around and handed the phone to An Ruoning.

An Ruoning quickly took the phone, afraid that Cheng Yuanxing would change his mind and confiscate it from her.

"Remember to be more careful next time you play. You're such a grown-up, and you can't even hide your phone properly." Cheng Yuanxing's voice sounded cold, but there seemed to be a hint of doting in it.

An Ruoning felt a warmth upon hearing this; was she a masochist?

"I understand, Captain Cheng. But could you please knock on the door next time you enter the girls' dormitory so I have time to hide my phone?"

Cheng Yuanxing glanced at An Ruoning without saying a word.

Stared at so directly, An Ruoning finally couldn't take it anymore and surrendered. She lowered her head and looked away, saying, "Okay, okay, I understand." It was a completely humble and repentant attitude.

"Okay, let's go." Cheng Yuanxing lifted his long legs, ready to leave.

"Wait." An Ruoning stopped him. Her eyes, which had been lowered, suddenly rose. "You must know what I'm thinking. I want to ask for your opinion." These were the words An Ruoning spoke with all her might. As soon as she finished speaking, her ears turned red.

"What are you thinking?" Cheng Yuanxing asked knowingly, though he actually wanted to hear An Ruoning say it herself.

“I…” That last sentence was the greatest courage An Ruoning had mustered, and now she was breaking through her own limitations, “I… like you.”

"so what?"

An Ruoning was stunned, and for a moment she felt embarrassed. She bit her lower lip and looked up, "I'm confessing my feelings to you, and you don't have any reaction?"

"Oh." Cheng Yuanxing responded, showing no restraint or awkwardness compared to An Ruoning's flustered state, remaining relaxed and composed throughout.

"Was my confession not sincere enough? How about I go downstairs and put up a heart-shaped wreath for you, light some candles, and shout 'I love you' towards your room? Would that be enough? I see college students confessing like this nowadays, and then they get the people around to watch and cheer them on. That will greatly increase the chances of us getting together."
