Chapter 155 Unilateral Announcement

Cheng Yuanxing seemed to have discovered a new side of An Ruoning. "Wreaths and candles, don't you think this looks like a funeral?"

An Ruoning: "..."

It really does look alike! Damn, how come I can suddenly picture it?!

"Well...it seems so," she stammered.

Cheng Yuanxing suddenly looked at An Ruoning seriously, "What do you like about me?"

He didn't think someone who had only been there for less than a week would like him. They barely communicated in private, and their usual interactions were only during work.

"Or rather... what do you want from me?"

The first question had already left An Ruoning speechless: what exactly did she like about Cheng Yuanxing? The second question... what did she want from him?

An Ruoning shook her head and said uncertainly, "Maybe she likes your face, but is attracted to your body."

"So you're just trying to take advantage of me." His dark eyes stared intently at An Ruoning.

An Ruoning gripped the hem of her dress tightly, her fingers almost tearing it to shreds. Her voice trembled slightly, "Who... took advantage of you?"

Her actions had already betrayed her guilty conscience, and Cheng Yuanxing saw all of this.

"Come find me again when you've thought it through. Girls should always be clear about things before jumping to conclusions, or they'll regret it."

An Ruoning stood there, stunned, not knowing what to say.

Wait a minute, is this silly person really her?

Given her personality, shouldn't she grab Cheng Yuanxing by the collar, pull him in front of her, and then confidently declare that she likes him and unilaterally announce that he is her boyfriend?

Cheng Yuanxing turned his head and saw that she was still standing there. "Let's go. You were waiting for me at my office door so early. You must not have eaten yet. Let's go to the cafeteria to eat together."

Isn't this girl usually quite shrewd? What's wrong with her now?

An Ruoning followed Cheng Yuanxing to the cafeteria, looking rather dull.

There were quite a few people in the cafeteria. Some were queuing up to get their food, some were enjoying their steamed buns and millet porridge, and some were straightening up and carrying their trays away from their seats.

"I'll treat you to breakfast today." This was a way of apologizing for dampening the girl's enthusiasm. "What would you like to eat?"

"Two meat buns and a boiled egg, plus a bowl of soy milk." She wanted to turn her sadness into appetite, and at the end, she added, "The soy milk has to be salty."

This amount of food is not much for a soldier; it might not even be enough to fill a gap between his teeth.

But An Ruoning is an actress, one of the jobs where she should be maintaining her figure the most. Eating so much was something Cheng Yuanxing really didn't expect. Moreover, the steamed buns in the army canteen were quite large.

"Can you finish it? Don't waste it."

Wasting resources in the military is absolutely unacceptable.

"You can finish it, don't underestimate me."

"Alright, go find an empty seat and wait for me for a bit."

The line at the food serving window was orderly and in a straight line, unlike the canteens in companies or schools, where there was no noise.

The hands of the aunties serving the food don't tremble like those of aunties in other canteens; they try their best to fill the bowls to the brim.

They knew they couldn't let down those who had dedicated themselves to the people and the country.

An Ruoning found a seat where there were almost no people around, took out the phone she had been longing for for several days, and as soon as she turned it on, a bunch of messages bombarded her. Luckily, she didn't turn on the ringer, otherwise she would definitely be the center of attention.
