Chapter 155 Xie Hengzhi x Yun Qing (The End)
Yun Qing always felt that Xie Hengzhi's feelings were subtle and silent, requiring her to slowly explore them before discovering that they had already permeated everything without her realizing it.
Just like how he never says he likes someone or expresses love, the most he ever says is, "I only want you."
But through various details, Yun Qing could sense that he cared about her.
"Xie Hengzhi, you've fallen in love with me."
"Yeah?"
"Otherwise, why are you hugging me so tightly?"
"I'm afraid you'll fall."
At times like these, Yun Qing would be very happy, like playing a treasure hunt, searching for evidence from the smallest details. He might not know that Xie Hengzhi's parents' indifference towards him as a tool was actually love.
No one else needs to judge; only he knows that Xie Hengzhi is the best person in the world.
"What are you grinning about?" Xie Hengzhi picked him up and placed him on the bathroom counter. He checked him over carefully inside and out before apologizing, "I lost control a little just now, sorry."
Yun Qing leaned over and kissed his furrowed brow, overjoyed to finally have him, and comforted him, "It's okay during this special time."
Xie Hengzhi lowered his eyes: "Don't spoil me like this."
"If I don't indulge you, who else should I indulge?" Yun Qing said matter-of-factly. In his heart, he had already regarded Xie Hengzhi as the most important person in his life. "Aren't we going to get married in the future? I will treat you very well, and I will treat you even better in the future."
It seems that in his dictionary, once a decision is made, there is no other way, even though he has suffered countless disappointments since childhood.
Xie Hengzhi's lips curved slightly: "Okay, I'm looking forward to it."
He had always felt that falling in love was an extremely painful thing. Just like now, in order to have a future together, Yun Qing had to suffer ten or a hundred times more. If he could go back to a few years ago, rationally speaking, he would not make the same choice.
But having come this far, Yun Qing couldn't leave him, and he himself clearly couldn't leave him either.
Then we'll just have to go down this path to the bitter end.
The next two years were indeed difficult to get past his parents. Every time the marriage was mentioned, he would find excuses to delay. Fortunately, they were still young, and his early entry into politics had given the Xie family a lot of face.
"I think Hengzhi might be aiming to become the Alliance Leader someday." It was Grandma's birthday, and all the people around were saying flattering things, but I just listened and let it go.
"You flatter me." Xie Hengzhi disliked these kinds of occasions, yet he had to attend countless times. He simply smiled perfunctorily and then lowered his head to send a message to Yun Qing.
[Xie Hengzhi]: I probably can't go back today, there are a lot of guests at home.
There was no reply from the other party; they're probably busy. They've been elusive these past few days, and I wonder if they're stuck with some project again.
"Tsk, look how absent-minded you are, missing someone." After delivering the gift, Pei Yizhong brought Lin Han over and teased the absent-minded person, "I wonder who it was that said that they refused many times, but the other person insisted."
Xie Hengzhi's gaze was still fixed on the screen, but out of the corner of his eye he saw the two holding hands, and he said in a nonchalant tone: "If you're going to show off your love, then get lost."
Pei Yizhong then put his arm around Lin Han's shoulder, laughing uncontrollably as if showing off: "I can't leave you all alone. Should I find an excuse to help you escape?"
“We’re not going anywhere. We need to keep the old folks happy lately.” Xie Hengzhi looked toward the main table. “They keep bringing up marriage alliances lately. If we don’t work things out, we really won’t be able to hold out any longer.”
“Really, I just got here and saw several rich girls here. They all seem to be trying to find a partner.” Lin Han’s thoughts were simple and impulsive. She suggested, “Why don’t you two just elope?”
Xie Hengzhi raised an eyebrow slightly: "Elope? I want a proper marriage."
In just three years, Yun Qing has propelled Yuntian Group's revenue into the top tier. With his own connections and Pei Yizhong's covert assistance, the relationship between the military, politics, and the Yun family is now completely different from what it used to be; it's only a matter of time before it's too late.
Considering Yun Qing's background, it was indeed not easy to be aboveboard. Lin Han sighed, "Imposing."
Hearing a commotion outside, Pei Yizhong turned around, saw the person approaching, and said slowly, "Your bride has arrived."
Xie Hengzhi didn't expect Yun Qing to come, but the moment he saw him, he felt much of the irritability he had felt all night dissipate.
He got up and went over, noticing the inquisitive glances and whispers around him. He made no attempt to hide his actions as he took the pair of fair hands, a gesture that was tantamount to an open admission.
Seeing the other party's audacity, Yun Qing's dimples deepened, and she was overjoyed.
Xie Hengzhi lowered his eyes, looking at the smile on his face, and spoke in a softer voice: "I sent you a message but you didn't reply."
"Yes, I was signing an agreement just now, so I was delayed." Yun Qing waved the things in her hand and smiled, "Where is Grandma? I'll go deliver the congratulatory gift."
This was the first time the two had acted so brazenly in public, and people around them had already started gossiping about it.
After all, no matter how powerful the Yun family is, he is still just an illegitimate child. His public appearance now looks like a bloody storm is about to break out.
"What are you doing here?" As soon as the person approached, Xie Hengzhi's parents' expressions changed upon seeing their interlocked hands.
Xie Hengzhi thought that since he was already here, there was no reason for Yun Qing to suffer any injustice.
He didn't try to hide anything and simply introduced himself: "I invited Yunqing, my marriage partner, to celebrate Grandma's birthday."
"You really are something!" Xie's father suppressed the urge to smash the teacup and said in a low voice, "It's Grandma's birthday, so many important people are here, do you have to upset her? Make the Xie family a laughing stock?"
"Take a look at the gift first, then judge whether it's annoying or not, okay?" Yun Qing's voice was very gentle, and she wasn't angry. She simply handed over a stack of documents in a humble yet assertive manner.
As Xie Hengzhi's parents opened it, their expressions slowly changed from anger to bewilderment, and then to deep confusion, as if they didn't think this thing should be here.
Xie Hengzhi turned his head: "What document?"
Yun Qing smiled gently and explained, "Yuntian Group has undergone a change in shareholding. I am now the largest shareholder of Yuntian and have the right to veto the board of directors. My father's will has also been re-signed in the presence of a lawyer. The document details the division of all family assets. I've been busy with this recently, so I'm a little late today."
“I think that none of the children who are currently eligible to marry into the Xie family can enjoy so many benefits all by themselves. If you marry me, these will be your entire dowry.”
He paused, slightly raised his chin, tightened his grip on her intertwined hands, and said in a gentle yet powerful voice, "Is Yun Qing now worthy of a marriage alliance with Xie Hengzhi?"
Xie Hengzhi's parents looked at each other, speechless. They had thought their son was just hanging out with an Omega for a couple of days, but they never expected that they were actually planning to get married.
Xie Hengzhi said in a deep voice: "You're not just looking at interests. With so many documents right here, is there still a problem?"
"No." Xie's father's gaze fell on Yun Qing, his expression shifting from disdain upon entering to admiration. He asked slowly, "How did you do that?"
“Because Hengzhi has helped me a lot, your son is far more outstanding and ambitious than you imagine.” Yun Qing smiled faintly. “Moreover, he really loves me. I’ve already signed the prenuptial agreement. I don’t want anything else, I just want him.”
It's hard to imagine that son, who's like a machine, could love.
It's even harder to imagine that Yun Qing doesn't want anything from the Xie family, only Xie Hengzhi.
This was incomprehensible to Xie's parents, who always considered gains and losses. They had spent so much energy and time only to give it away; it seemed like a losing proposition no matter how you looked at it.
Xie Hengzhi took back the stack of documents, revealing a rare hint of agitation: "Since neither you nor Mother have any objections, let's take advantage of the fact that everyone is here today to make an announcement, and you won't need to worry about the rest."
Seeing the other person grabbing someone and trying to leave, Xie's father asked, "Where are you going?"
"Wait for the Civil Affairs Bureau to open, then go get your marriage certificate." Xie Hengzhi announced loudly without turning his head, amidst the gazes of everyone.
After dropping a bombshell, Xie Hengzhi and Yun Qing really did run away, but this time, it wasn't an elopement.
They parked their car in front of the Civil Affairs Bureau. It was still dark. Yun Qing nestled in his arms and said with a grin, "There are still about ten hours before it opens. Are we just going to wait like this?"
"Okay, let's just wait like this." Xie Hengzhi's eyes softened as he looked at him.
Yun Qing blinked and laughed at him, "Why are you more anxious than me? Are you worried that I'll run away because you're eyeing our huge fortune?"
Xie Hengzhi lowered his eyes and tidied his disheveled hair with his fingers: "It's very urgent. I'm afraid that once the news comes out tomorrow morning, many people will come out and try to take my wife away."
Those two simple words made Yun Qing's heart skip a beat.
He tilted his head back, leaned in to kiss her, and said with unspeakable joy, "Whose wife is she?"
"Xie Hengzhi's wife." Xie Hengzhi knew what he wanted to hear, so to please him, he changed the word to "Madam Xie."
"That sounds so nice," Yun Qing said, her eyes crinkling with laughter.
Xie Hengzhi paused, thinking of that rather unfair document: "However, there's no need to sign that prenuptial agreement. Half of what belongs to me will be given to you as part of the betrothal gifts for my wife."
"Does your father know how you're squandering the family fortune?" Yun Qing leaned in to kiss him again. "This isn't the kind of decision Xie Hengzhi, who prioritizes profit, would make. No matter how you weigh the options, you're going to lose."
Xie Hengzhi pressed his neck and gently returned the kiss: "I'll only lose this once, I admit defeat."
As dawn broke, Yun Qing grabbed Xie Hengzhi's hand and ran quickly into the Civil Affairs Bureau, becoming the first couple to register their marriage that day.
When he received the documents, he looked at them over and over again before he dared to confirm that Xie Hengzhi and Yun Qing were legally married, that their marriage was justified and recognized by society.
"It's that simple?" Yun Qing shook the two small notebooks in disbelief.
"It's that simple." Xie Hengzhi looked at the names side by side, hesitating to speak.
Such a simple process, yet they went through it for a very long time in order to marry openly and legitimately.
Standing beneath the large red "double happiness" character at the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau, he still didn't know how to express his love, and made a promise: "Yunqing, I am yours, forever."
I said the same thing seven years ago. The deal that was based on weighing the interests back then has finally come to a fair conclusion.
Yun Qing looked at him; he still had the same indifferent expression as when they first met. It turned out that even a lonely god could be moved.
"Xie Hengzhi, happy marriage."
"Please love me forever, or I cannot live alone."
