Article 156 Bo Yan X He Li (01)
"Cheng Boyan, Cheng Boyan, Cheng Boyan........"
As soon as Cheng Boyan answered the phone, he heard a series of ghostly howls and screams on the other end. It was clear that someone had suddenly gone crazy for some reason.
It had only been a few hours since we last met.
He was doing an experiment and hadn't checked his phone. When he came out, he saw twenty messages on the screen, ten of which were missed calls—a relentless barrage of messages.
Without even looking, this uniform, screen-filling pattern is very much in He Li's style.
Listening to the incoherent voice on the other end of the phone, rambling and unable to make sense, Cheng Boyan frowned and asked, "What's wrong?"
"He Li is drunk and insists on seeing you. If you're not busy, could you come pick him up?" A more sober voice came from the other end of the phone; it was Lin Yao.
Cheng Boyan neatly put the reagents back in their place, took off his gloves and threw them into the trash can, replying, "Okay, send me the address."
Lin Yao sent an address: "At my godfather's house."
When Cheng Boyan arrived there, he saw from afar that the guy was lying on the ground, slumped over, holding Lin Yao and muttering something unintelligible. He was also ruthlessly plucking Xie Dai's hair with one hand, almost plucking it bald.
"How did you get so drunk?" Cheng Boyan lowered his eyes, separated the person and the bird, and had a terrible headache.
“When it comes to playing rock-paper-scissors with General Pei, the old man is too clever; I can’t beat him at all.” He Li grabbed his sleeve, speaking very bluntly.
He must have really drunk too much. Normally, he would never have uttered the words "old man." Cheng Boyan didn't even have time to cover his mouth before he could only apologize on his behalf, "Please don't hold it against him."
Ignoring it, Pei Yizhong sat to the side, his face dark with displeasure, and let out a cold sneer.
Lin Yao was truly speechless at the sight. He had just finished a joint operation and only managed to catch a glimpse of Xie Xingchen from afar. He hadn't even had a chance to exchange a few words with him before his mood plummeted.
Originally, I was thinking of going home for a meal to relieve my boredom, but He Li insisted on coming along. I don't know why, he just said he wanted to keep me company. But what happened was that he got drunk first.
Xie Dai wailed and cried, clutching his bald patch and accusingly shouting, "He's not human!!! Bullying the weak!!! He's utterly immoral!!! Hit him!!! Give him twenty lashes!!!"
The scene was chaotic. Cheng Boyan's ears hurt from the noise, so he reassured him, "It's okay, I'll stick it back on for you tomorrow."
He Li turned his head and saw the familiar face. He became a little more awake and instinctively stretched out his hands. He smiled and said, "I'm sorry to bother you."
"You still know what trouble is." Cheng Boyan reached out and grabbed him, pulling him towards him. The guy was boneless, pressing his entire weight against him. He reminded him, "Stand firm."
"I can't stand up straight..." He Li leaned his head on his shoulder and drawled, "What should I do?"
That's utterly shameless.
Cheng Boyan's arm firmly protected his lower back, and he coldly threatened, "Knock him out and take him away."
Seeing him swaying back and forth, Lin Yao frowned, still somewhat uneasy: "Could you take him back to the dorm? Or he can just sleep here. I didn't expect him to go crazy like this."
"Forget it, I'm afraid if he stays for another two minutes, he might snatch the general's gun and start shooting." Cheng Boyan simply hoisted the man onto his shoulder, while not forgetting to say goodbye to Pei Yizhong, "Then we'll leave first and come back to apologize another day."
Pei Yizhong was too tired to talk after being disturbed all night. He raised his hand to shoo people away, saying, "Don't come anymore. I want a few more days of peace and quiet."
Lin Yao followed him out, watching as He Li was shoved into the passenger seat, and repeatedly instructed, "If he feels unwell, buy him some hangover medicine."
Cheng Boyan hummed in response, looked up at him, and still couldn't help but ask a few words of concern: "Are you in a bad mood today? Did you see Xingchen?"
Lin Yao nodded slightly, his eyes reddening slightly, and said in a low voice, "I just... glanced at it from afar."
"Who are you going to see? Xie Xingchen? That bastard." He Li muttered incessantly, his eyes closed. "He just leaves like that."
Cheng Boyan reached out and covered his mouth, whispering, "Don't listen to him, you'll get better, and we'll see each other again soon."
"I'm fine, I'm immune to it now and then." Lin Yao smiled. "It's not so bad to hear him curse occasionally, he's a bastard anyway."
Seeing that he didn't have much of an emotional reaction, Cheng Boyan felt relieved: "Okay, I'm leaving then. If there's anything you need me to pass on, just send me a message."
Lin Yao paused for a few seconds, then shook his head: "No need, it will only make us both more upset."
"Okay, then get some rest and don't overthink it." Cheng Boyan started the car. "Let's go."
He Li had already fallen asleep in the passenger seat. It was unusually quiet now, even though it had been quite noisy just a moment ago.
When they arrived at the dormitory building, Cheng Boyan got out of the car, walked around to the other side, opened the door, reached out to unbuckle his seatbelt, patted his face with his palm, and said in a softer voice, "Wake up, go back to sleep."
"No," He Li mumbled, shifting his sleeping position and closing his eyes comfortably. "I can't walk."
Cheng Boyan stared at him for a while, and seeing that he showed no intention of moving, he threatened, "Then you can sleep by yourself. I'm leaving."
Just as I turned around, before I could even close the door, my palm was hooked by the other person's fingers. It wasn't with much force, but it held me so tightly that I couldn't leave.
"No, you mustn't."
"How can you be so domineering?"
He Li half-closed his eyes, not looking at anyone at all, and mumbled, "I'm afraid of the dark, you'll keep me company."
Cheng Boyan really couldn't understand how an Alpha could be so affectionate. Sometimes he really felt that He Li and Lin Yao had swapped each other's gender test reports.
His gaze fell on the other person's face. The eyelashes were quite long, the skin was very fair, and the height was not considered very tall among Alphas, but it was still close to 1.8 meters. The person was curled up in the seat and looked very uncomfortable and in pain.
He stood there for a while, sighed, bent down, took the other person's hand and hooked it around his neck, reminding him, "I'll carry you back to sleep."
"You're so nice, Cheng Boyan is the second nicest in the universe." He Li reached out and hooked his arm around him like an octopus, praising him without reservation.
"Second place?" Cheng Boyan laughed in exasperation. "I've taken such good care of you, and you still can't get first place?"
Despite being nearly drunk, He Li remained principled: "Of course, first is my brother Yao."
Cheng Boyan really wanted to throw him on the ground:
Although she really didn't want to argue with a drunkard, she still said defiantly, "Then let your brother Yao carry you. I'm leaving."
"No, I'll be scared and cry if you leave." He Li grabbed him tightly and pressed himself against him. "Hold me, carry me back."
Cheng Boyan grabbed his waist with one hand and closed the car door with the other, gritting his teeth as he said, "I must have owed you something in my past life."
The drunkard was illogical and liked to move around randomly. After finally getting him back, He Li was restless and kept tugging at his collar as he wandered around the dormitory looking for water.
While keeping an eye on him, Cheng Boyan sent a voice message to Lin Yao, saying, "Don't worry, we're at the dorm."
"Is he asleep?" Lin Yao asked. "Did he throw up?"
"Sleep? Are you drunk and acting crazy?" Cheng Boyan had just finished saying this when he saw He Li pour all the water from the kettle onto himself, getting completely soaked.
Although this guy was drunk and acting crazy, he was still relatively calm. He stood there, dripping wet, looking at himself pitifully: "Ah, I'm all wet."
Cheng Boyan didn't even bother chatting with Lin Yao. He put his phone aside, walked over quickly, and grabbed Lin Yao's collar: "Take it off, or you'll catch a cold."
At this moment, He Li obediently reached out his hand and stood like a model soldier. In no time, he was stripped naked.
He stared at the other person's movements, then looked down at himself and sighed, "You're not trying to... take advantage of me, are you? That's how it's depicted in comics, drunken promiscuity..."
Cheng Boyan glanced at him and said indifferently, "Sorry, I'm not interested in Alphas."
Hearing this, He Li relaxed and said with a grin, "You like pretty Omegas, right? That's good. Me too. We're really good brothers, even our sexual orientations are the same."
Cheng Boyan ignored him, pushed him into the bathroom, turned on the shower, rinsed him clean, wrapped him in a towel, fixed him to the sink, and dried him with a hairdryer.
"I feel like you're washing your dog." He Li recognized his profile picture—a curly-haired puppy, probably a pet.
"Pretty much, you're not even as well-behaved as a dog." After cleaning him up, Cheng Boyan poured him a new glass of water and brought it to his lips. "Drink slowly, don't spill it again."
He Li lowered his head, but couldn't reach it. He dipped his tongue in the water and stared at himself with his round eyes.
Cheng Boyan's throat tightened for no apparent reason.
"You... drink it properly, don't spill it again."
"I can't get any." He Li lowered his head even further, almost burying his head in it, looking rather silly.
Cheng Boyan raised his hand, holding the back of his neck to prevent him from moving, and slightly raised his wrist to pour the liquid into his mouth.
He Li finally felt relief from his dry mouth.
He smacked his lips, very satisfied with Xiao Cheng's service, and patted his face: "Thank you, you're the second best person in the world."
Cheng Boyan put the water glass aside: "...No need to repeat it a second time, go to sleep."
He watched the person leave, then stayed in the bathroom alone to deal with the mess in the sink. After a quick wash, when he went out again, he found that He Li had gone to the wrong place and was lying stiffly on his bed.
We've been roommates for two years, and this isn't the first time he's done this.
Before Xie Xingchen and Lin Yao were still around, I don't know if they were afraid of the two big shots, but they were still quite cautious. After the two moved out, they are now very unscrupulous.
Cheng Boyan stood by the bed, stared at him for a few seconds, and figured he couldn't hear him anyway, so he gave up, climbed up, and lay down against the wall.
It was already a single bed, and it was very narrow. With two Alphas of considerable size sitting side by side, it became even more cramped. What's more, this person had terrible sleeping habits and took up more than half of the bed.
"He Li, try to fall asleep." He said softly.
"Hmm? Move over?" He Li rolled over, almost bumping into him, her breath hitting his face as she spoke. "Is this okay?"
Cheng Boyan lowered his eyes, looking at how Cheng Boyan had hugged him so tightly, like a body pillow, that Cheng Boyan couldn't move an inch, and said in a calm voice, "What do you think?"
He Li moved forward a little more, finally snuggling into his arms. After shifting around for a while, she finally found a comfortable position and mumbled, "I feel a little cold."
If I hadn't known He Li for quite some time, I would have thought this was some kind of clumsy seduction technique. Pretending to be drunk, getting his clothes wet, going to the wrong bed, and saying some ambiguous things—it's practically the three-piece set for getting into bed.
But this guy doesn't have many complicated thoughts; he's just really thick-skinned and carefree.
Cheng Boyan didn't say a word, but draped the blanket over him, gripped the edges tightly, and then asked, "Are you feeling better?"
He Li felt comfortably covered by the blanket and said groggily, "It's a little better, but my hands and feet are very cold."
Cheng Boyan remained unmoved. Seeing that he had already given two-thirds of the blanket to the other person, he had done more than enough. He still patiently told him, "You'll get warm after a while."
"It's still cold." He Li was half asleep, but felt as if there was a fire around him. "What kind of weather is this?"
He couldn't help but move closer to the fire, reaching out his icy hands to warm them.
Hmm, it's warm here, so I'll put it here.
Cheng Boyan grabbed his wrist and, unusually rudely, swore, "He Li, let go."
