Chapter 50 Uncontrollable Emotions

Chapter 50 Uncontrollable Emotions

Lin Yao's gaze remained fixed ahead, but he asked with some curiosity, "What secret?"

"I already said it's a secret, how could I easily tell others?" Xie Xingchen said slowly, "I'll tell you when our relationship is more harmonious and when you and I are no longer just strangers."

If you're not going to tell me, then don't. Why keep me in suspense?

Lin Yao composed himself and gave him a cold look: "Just because of that incredibly irritating remark you made, I reckon we'll never have any peace in this lifetime."

Xie Xingchen sighed softly.

He got carried away and angered someone again.

Lin Yao stared at the dark star for a while, then turned around, sat back in the driver's seat, and looked down at the numbers on the dashboard.

The flight simulator had been flown countless times during previous training sessions, consistently achieving perfect test flight scores, but there was actually very little practical experience. Dean Huo is quite ambitious, managing to get several freshmen to participate in this project.

Seeing that there was still more than half an hour until they arrived at their destination, he switched back to manual mode.

Xie Xingchen sat back in his seat, resting his head on the cushion Lin Yao had used earlier. He felt the lingering warmth on it, which was very comforting.

As Hall's aircraft flew parallel to the ground, he turned his head and saw He Li leaning against the cockpit window, shouting into a communicator, "Look at my brother Yao! So cool!! He's piloting it with one hand!!! He doesn't even have a driver's license, yet he can fly an aircraft!!!"

Lin Yao gritted his teeth: "Shut up."

Cheng Boyan rambled on: "Even I have one. I just got it last week. I started taking the test last year. I failed the second part of the test four times, barely passing."

"Useless," Duan Zheng cursed him. "I got it in my senior year of high school."

"Wow, you got it in your senior year of high school, you're amazing." He Li launched a sarcastic attack, "I got it when I turned eighteen in my junior year of high school, you idiot."

Li Mao asked, "Why were you able to get here so early?"

He Li replied fearlessly, "Because I repeated a grade due to poor grades, what else could it be? Don't you know I was admitted to Chongqing University as a student with special talents?"

Xie Xingchen turned to look at him and couldn't help but laugh: "Is it because Lin Yao just turned 18 that he hasn't had time to study yet?"

When the truth was revealed, Lin Yao gritted his teeth and said, "You're only a few months older than me, what's so great about that?"

Xie Xingchen was delighted: "You still remember my birthday? You really care about your nemesis."

Lin Yao deliberately lunged forward, almost pulling the person off their seat. Once they regained their balance, he said, "Your deadpan face used to be all over the wall of honor, with your personal information right next to it. You'd have to be blind to see it."

Xie Xingchen only picked out what he wanted to hear: "Yeah, you often look at my photos."

Lin Yao: ".........."

Cheng Boyan spoke up: "So Lin Yao is actually the youngest among us? Then why do you still call him Brother Yao, He Li? You're practically two years older than him, that's too shameless."

He Li sighed: "Brother Yao forced me to do it."

Lin Yao: ""

He really decided that he wouldn't say another word to anyone until the end of the day!

He remained silent until he arrived at the dilapidated support area on the desolate planet.

He Li, standing nearby, asked, "What's wrong with Yao-ge? Is it because he flew too high and is having a reaction?"

After handing over what he had promised, Xie Xingchen kindly reminded the other party, "I suggest you shut up now, or you might be assassinated tonight."

Although He Li didn't understand, she very obediently raised her hand and made a zipper-sealing motion around her mouth.

Dean Huo said, "It's late today, and there aren't any plans for now. Everyone should go to bed early and try to get some rest, two people per room. The environment here is harsh, so hang in there. It will be an unforgettable experience for you."

Duan Zheng raised his hand and swatted away a giant blood-sucking mosquito, saying sarcastically, "Truly unforgettable."

Li Mao reached out and grabbed him: "Shut up. If you piss them off, they could kill you and bury you here and no one would even know."

"Young man, you've really grown up. I'm officially putting an end to our past grievances." He Li reached out and patted his shoulder.

Lin Yao was too lazy to talk, mainly because the conversation on the communicator was too awkward and he hadn't recovered yet. He pushed his luggage into the room.

The previous precautions paid off; it is indeed small and narrow.

The space is so small you could bump into each other if you turned around; there are two very simple single military beds and a small shower room—that's all there is.

Xie Xingchen opened the box and took out the bedding he had prepared in advance: "You put on your own, I'm going to take a shower first."

Lin Yao hummed in agreement and slowly unfolded the duvet cover, which he couldn't tell was made of silk or some other material, feeling completely out of place with the surroundings.

However, Xie Xingchen gave the other set to He Li. Could the young master really stand those uncomfortable-looking sheets?

He quickly laid out the bed and sat on the edge of it, lost in thought.

A short while later, seeing Xie Xingchen come out after a quick shower, she stood up and said, "It's my turn."

The room was cramped; you could bump shoulders if you passed by. Lin Yao could smell a faint scent of his bath fragrance.

It's definitely not something provided here; it must be high-end stuff brought in by myself.

Such a pampered young master, someone who even needs to bring his own shower gel. Lin Yao glanced at the shabby military bed again and wondered once more whether Xie Xingchen could survive the night.

Seeing that the person had closed the bathroom door, Xie Xingchen grabbed the crumpled sheets and wiped his face with his hand: "It's even worse than I imagined, I can't stand it."

He got up, walked around the room, and his gaze fell on the mineral water bottle he had brought.

He hesitated for only a second before unscrewing the bottle cap and neatly pouring it onto his single bed. The water stains instantly spread over a large area, making it too damp to sleep.

Xie Xingchen bent one leg and placed it on the edge of the bed, while the other leg was lazily stretched out. He held a mineral water bottle and swung it back and forth, seemingly lost in thought.

As soon as Lin Yao came out, he noticed his strange sitting posture: "What's wrong with you?"

Xie Xingchen turned to the side, showing off his work, and said regretfully, "I drove for too long today, and my hands were shaking a bit. I just drank some water, and I spilled it all."

A large puddle of water spread across the dark green sheets, making it impossible to lie down on them.

Lin Yao frowned: "Then where will you sleep tonight?"

"Sleep on the floor," Xie Xingchen said slowly, observing his expression. "Or squeeze onto the aircraft for the night. It's fine, don't worry about me."

Lin Yao stared at him for a few seconds, as if trying to discern the truth from the falsehood.

Xie Xingchen stood up briskly, grabbed a small pillow, and walked out: "You go to sleep, I'm leaving, goodnight."

He had just reached the door when he felt someone grab his arm. He stopped and turned around: "What's wrong?"

Lin Yao stared at the narrow single bed, repeatedly questioning whether he had made the right decision.

But the silk duvet cover, so out of place in the room, kept reminding me to be kinder.

"You... squeeze in with me."

Lin Yao coughed lightly, "Although it's a bit cramped, it's still better than being curled up in the aircraft seat."

That seat is meant for a tall person who's 1.9 meters tall; it's really too much of a hassle.

Xie Xingchen stared at him for several seconds: "Is this appropriate?"

The next second, he nodded: "Okay."

Before the other person could react, she had already stretched out on the bed, turned to one side, and patted the bed: "Come on, let's sleep."

Lin Yao: "......"

I felt something was off, but I couldn't quite put my finger on what was strange about it. I just slowly lay down.

He turned to his side, raised his hand and turned off the bedside lamp, plunging the room into darkness.

Both of them were already tall, so they felt even more cramped on the narrow little bed.

After Lin Yao accidentally bumped into the other person several times, his lower back was suddenly gripped tightly.

"What are you doing?" he asked in a low voice.

Xie Xingchen patted his palm, smoothing out his stiffness: "If you move around again, neither of us will be able to sleep tonight."

After saying that, she added, "It's easier to sleep this way, and I won't fall off."

But how can I fall asleep like this?

Lin Yao felt his breathing become labored: "Too close... Let go of me, I won't move."

Xie Xingchen didn't listen to him, but just lowered his head, as if confirming his belonging.

He didn't know what was wrong with him.

Just by leaning against each other, I instinctively wanted to pull the other person into my arms.

Mingming had taken three injections of inhibitors before leaving home, just in case.

It's as if everything has stopped working right now.

Lin Yao rested his chin on the other person's shoulder and asked uncertainly, "What's wrong with you?"

Because we were so close, I could feel that Xie Xingchen was very hot.

It was a night when the temperature was very low.

Xie Xingchen didn't speak, he just shook his head.

"Is your illness acting up again?" Lin Yao blinked slowly, his gaze fixed on the ceiling, and tentatively asked, "I... I'll try to comfort you."

"It's no use, stop making a fuss." Xie Xingchen felt that this situation was probably the norm, and he couldn't keep taking advantage of Lin Yao every time.

So he propped himself up on the edge of the bed, preparing to get up: "I'll go sleep on the aircraft."

What do you mean by reaping what you sow? I should have known better than to spill that bottle of water.

He reached for the inhibitor by his bedside in the dark and gave himself another injection.

But it seems to be useless.

Lin Yao stared at him. The room was dim, but he seemed to see the dark depths of his eyes, like the dark star that had flickered in the darkness before. It flashed for a moment, making his heart tremble.

He reached out and grabbed the other person's pajamas, pulling them closer little by little: "Then... a kiss, still a kiss, okay?"

I don't know what else to do.

For the two of them, it was no different from giving artificial respiration after falling into the water.

Xie Xingchen didn't speak, but just stared at him intently for a few seconds with his lower lip pursed.

"It's not that serious, you don't need to—"

Before he could finish speaking, Lin Yao had already tilted his head back and kissed him. He brushed his lips against his slightly dry lower lip, slowly transferring the antidote into his mouth.

Xie Xingchen felt a long-lost joy.

So I couldn't help but touch the back of his neck and respond deeply.

"Wait a moment……"

Lin Yao had never seen such a situation before and wanted to turn his head away and hide.

His wrists were tightly gripped, forcefully restraining him, making it impossible for him to move.

Even at such a moment, Lin Yao still remembered to pass on the antidote. This soft and helpless little gesture was like a feather brushing against my heart. So cute.

Let's indulge ourselves this once.

Xie Xingchen couldn't help but kiss her even deeper.

“…”
