Chapter 154: The arrest operation is cancelled!

"No...no..." Fatty Zhang collapsed to the ground, tears streaming down his face, desperately trying to move his body backward, like a maggot whose spine had been broken. He looked at Qin Xiao walking slowly towards him, and that calm face was a thousand times more terrifying than any hideous demon in his eyes.

kowtow?

Zhang Debiao had spent half his life in Jiangcheng and was a man of some standing. To have to kowtow to this kid he considered a stray in front of all his colleagues was worse than killing him.

"Young Master Qin... I was wrong, I was really wrong..." he pleaded incoherently, "I was blind to your greatness, I'm not human! I'm nothing but a fart, please be magnanimous and let me go..."

Qin Xiao squatted down in front of him, reached out, and gently patted his greasy cheek, which was covered in sweat and tears. "Let you go? Sure."

A glimmer of hope instantly ignited in Fatty Zhang's eyes.

"I want to see the bankruptcy announcement of Jiangcheng Energy Group before dawn tomorrow." Qin Xiao's tone was as relaxed as if he were discussing what to have for dinner. "All your assets will be transferred to the 'Ning's Era' Charity Foundation."

He paused, looking at Fatty Zhang's instantly ashen face, and continued, "If you can't do it, or dare to run away, I'll tell your competitors the story of this 'power bank' today. Do you think they'd be willing to pay a hefty sum to buy your life? After all, who wouldn't want technology that could wipe out the entire Jiangcheng Energy Group?"

Zhang Pangzi's body went limp, his last glimmer of hope extinguished. He collapsed to the ground, breathing heavily, his eyes losing all light, and a stench emanated from beneath him.

Qin Xiao stood up, no longer glancing at him, as if he had casually crushed an ant.

He walked up to Fang Mengru.

"Mengru, I'm leaving the follow-up business collaborations and media relations to you. There's only one principle: be high-profile, the higher the better. I want the whole world to know that 'Ning's Era' has opened."

“Understood, boss.” Fang Mengru adjusted her gold-rimmed glasses, her gaze behind the lenses sharp and efficient. She glanced at the trembling “competitors,” a professional smile playing on her lips, and then decisively instructed the technical team behind her: “Public relations department, prepare the press release, push it across the entire internet in thirty minutes. Marketing department, contact the top-tier clients on the list and tell them that our product is only available for pre-order, highest bidder wins.”

"I guarantee I will complete the mission." She turned to Qin Xiao and bowed slightly.

Qin Xiao nodded, then turned to Leng Nan, who was still in a state of malfunction. "Captain Leng, I think we need a quiet place to discuss how to 'cooperate'."

...

Ten minutes later, a conference room on the top floor of the factory's office building, which had been quickly emptied, became a temporary command center.

Leng Nan and her five fully armed and fiercely independent "Snow Wolf" squad members stood to one side. They stood ramrod straight, their auras restrained, but each of their gazes towards Qin Xiao was filled with scrutiny, suspicion, and a barely concealed hostility. They weren't looking at a collaborator, but at a potential threat.

Qin Xiao, Geng Yu, and Ling Changning sat on the other side. Geng Yu and Ling Changning still felt like they were in a dream, fidgeting and unsure of what to do with their hands. Faced with the steely aura emanating from those soldiers, they even refrained from breathing.

“First, we need to make one thing clear.” Qin Xiao broke the silence. He walked to a whiteboard, picked up a pen, and glanced at Leng Nan. “From now until the end of the mission, I am the highest commander here. You can reserve your opinions, but you must unconditionally obey my orders. Any questions?”

"Report!" A man with a buzz cut standing behind Leng Nan immediately stepped forward, his voice booming like a bell, "Li Mo, deputy captain of the Snow Wolf Squad! I object! We are soldiers, we only obey military orders! We will never take orders from a civilian with an unknown background! This concerns the lives of the entire squad!"

"Li Mo, shut up!" Leng Nan shouted sharply, but there was a hint of weariness in her voice.

"Captain!" Li Mo retorted, his face full of defiance, his eyes sharply fixed on Qin Xiao. "Military orders are for us to cooperate, not to die! We can't entrust our brothers' lives to someone of unknown origin!"

"This is an order!" Leng Nan's voice rose again, and the atmosphere in the conference room instantly plummeted to freezing point.

Qin Xiao ignored their internal conflicts and simply drew a simple sketch on the whiteboard. "'Ghost' is a woman, about 1.7 meters tall, skilled in using short blades, with a style characterized by extreme speed and unpredictable angles. She has not undergone formal military training; all her skills come from life-or-death combat, so you won't find her moves in your fighting manuals."

As he spoke, he marked several deadly attack angles on the map.

"She has an extremely strong counter-surveillance awareness, but she also has a fatal habit. Every time she completes a mission or escapes danger, she will go to an absolutely safe place within 48 hours and eat a bowl of beef noodles with double the amount of cilantro. Moreover, she only goes to old shops that look run-down, only accept cash, and have taciturn owners."

After Qin Xiao finished speaking, he turned around and looked at the Snow Wolf Squad, who were already dumbfounded.

"Do you have this intelligence in your files?"

Li Mo opened his mouth, but the contempt on his face turned into blankness, and he couldn't utter a single word. All they got was a code name and a bunch of vague battle records. They couldn't even be 100% sure if the target was male or female, let alone such meticulous details about their daily habits.
