"No...no need to be polite!" Liu Qing's face immediately turned as red as a tomato, and he shook his head repeatedly with a shy expression. Despite being a tall man of over 1.8 meters, he had turned himself into a ripe, oversized shrimp, tightly clasping his head as if he wanted to look at her but dared not.
You You swallowed hard. She had initially thought the other person was somewhat interested in her, hence their behavior. But gradually, she realized it wasn't just Liu Qing; everyone in the team was the same. Whenever they spoke to her, they would blush so shyly they looked like they wanted to boil her alive. And then she got used to it.
One of them might be interested in her, but if everyone is like that, then she's probably overthinking it. Besides, they don't seem to have any bad intentions at all; on the contrary, they're quite attentive to her.
That's right, they always stood up for her. Whether it was food or other necessities, they would always save the best portion for her. Any good things they had, they would bring to her without hesitation. Even if there were pebbles or puddles on the road, they would kick them away or fill them in before leading her across. And yet, they would act as if they were making her suffer because of limited resources.
Feeling like a fragile cultural relic, Youyou was completely bewildered. A chill ran down her spine; something just didn't feel right!
This feeling persisted until the group led her out of the forest and into a dilapidated little town. There were quite a few people in the town, but almost the instant she entered, the entire town felt strange.
Everyone stared at her in disbelief, as if they had witnessed some miracle. Along the way, countless people had fallen, bumped into walls, fallen into rivers, twisted their ankles... It was as if she had been instantly possessed by the god of bad luck; anyone who glanced at her in the crowd was guaranteed to be struck by misfortune.
Ironically, none of the victims were angry. Instead, they were blushing with excitement and were even willing to get up and limp to follow along and continue watching.
