In the ward.
Chu Liyue stood coldly in front of the hospital bed with her arms crossed.
Xiao Wujie gazed at her, his eyes trembling slightly. His fingers carefully slipped out from under the covers, hooking onto Chu Liyue's dress, gently swaying it, and he called out again:
"elder sister……"
Chu Liyue simply stared at him without any warmth in her eyes, and did not respond.
Xiao Wujie lowered his long eyelashes, knowing that acting cute was useless, so he looked at Chu Liyue with trembling eyes and said in a low, hoarse voice, "Sister, I was wrong."
Chu Liyue's cold, beautiful brows twitched slightly, and she said icily, "Explain yourself."
Xiao Wujie tightened his grip on her dress, biting his thin lips lightly: "I should have said so immediately if I felt unwell. I shouldn't have forced myself to endure it, and I shouldn't have gone out into the wind."
Chu Liyue's gaze sharpened: "That's all?"
Xiao Wujie was stunned for a moment, his brain frantically searching for answers, and with a strong survival instinct, he said, "Hmm... I should apologize to my sister as soon as I wake up?"
Chu Liyue stared at him with a cold gaze and sneered, "Let me help you recall what you said to Lu Zhufeng before you fainted?"
Xiao Wujie was slightly taken aback. He was already unconscious before he fainted, and he seemed to have said something like, "Don't disturb my sister."
Chu Liyue worked tirelessly day and night for Xiao Qianshan's sake, and he didn't want to distract her any further.
Xiao Wujie wanted to play dumb, but when he met Chu Liyue's sharp, eagle-like gaze, he could only move his lips and swallow.
As for how many ways Lu Zhufeng could die, he had already imagined them all in his mind.
This kind of fickle assistant should just be killed.
Chu Liyue looked at him, a cold glint in her eyes: "What did I tell you?"
Xiao Wujie's eyes were downcast and trembling as he met her gaze, his voice as hoarse and weak as possible as he replied:
"If you feel unwell, you can't hide it from your sister; you have to tell her immediately."
"Your health is the most important thing. I am the most important person to my sister."
Chu Liyue remained unmoved as he gently tugged at her dress, her voice icy: "So, my words are just passing by?"
Xiao Wujie shook his head repeatedly: "No, I... I was just out of my mind and talking nonsense."
How can I be sure that just because you're wrong you're not talking nonsense?
Seeing that Chu Liyue was not letting him off the hook, Xiao Wujie exerted a little force and gently tugged at Chu Liyue's dress, pulling her towards the bed.
Meanwhile, more and more tears welled up in his eyes, and as his Adam's apple bobbed, he coughed softly and said in a broken voice:
"Sister, I was wrong, I was really wrong."
"I promise I won't do it again. Don't look at me like that. It makes me anxious and upset. Hug me."
As he spoke, he leaned outwards, as if he would rather fall off the bed than be held by Chu Liyue.
Amidst the fragrant breeze, Chu Liyue sat down on the edge of the bed and embraced him.
Xiao Wujie immediately wrapped his arms around her waist, nuzzling his cheek against her neck, pressing tightly against her.
Chu Liyue instinctively patted his back and said coldly, "You just want me to hug you."
The clingy guy in front of her knew exactly how to soften her heart. Even though she knew he was faking it, she was still afraid that it might actually be true.
The slightest wavering she had shown in the past had already punished her severely enough; she gave up.
Xiao Wujie looked up and lightly touched her lips with his thin lips: "I know my sister loves me."
Chu Liyue's long eyelashes trembled, her arms tightened involuntarily, and she sighed softly, "You..."
Before she could finish speaking, Xiao Wujie twisted his waist and interrupted her with a hum: "If you don't like it, you can call me 'Baby,' 'Sweetie,' or 'Baby' if you want."
Chu Liyue rested her chin on the top of his head, helplessly saying, "You're not being good this time."
Xiao Wujie shifted his body, finding the most comfortable position in her arms, and closed his eyes to enjoy it.
"Sister, please love me more, and I'll definitely be good."
Chu Liyue leaned against the headboard and pulled the blanket up to wrap him tighter. "Grandpa Xiao has woken up and is recovering very well. You can see him anytime."
Xiao Wujie rested his head on her shoulder, his delicate nose gently brushing against her heart, and whispered with his eyes closed, "I want to sleep a little longer, we'll go after you wake up, I'll coax you."
He didn't even need to look to know that his face must look as terrible as a ghost. Since Xiao Qianshan was alright, he wanted to adjust his state before going.
Chu Liyue nodded, gently stroking his back with her palm, patting him softly from time to time, her chin lightly brushing against his hair, a silent sob welling up in her eyes.
His health deteriorated at an alarming rate; after each illness, he would visibly lose weight and his condition would worsen.
She felt uncomfortable holding him, and she could even sense that he was starting to have difficulty moving.
She hoped he could hold on a little longer, give her a little more time, and she would be able to save him soon.
*
Xiao Qianshan sat in a wheelchair, and apart from looking slightly haggard, there was little else to see.
Behind him, Old He respectfully handed him a silver box.
He pushed the box toward Xiao Wujie and Chu Liyue opposite him, and chuckled softly, "I never thought I would have the chance to personally hand this over to you."
"I preserved the bone marrow inside using cryogenic technology, and it can be used for Wu Jie's surgery."
Xiao Wujie stared at the box in front of him, then looked at Xiao Qianshan opposite him, his expression complicated.
"Grandpa, thank you." He said earnestly.
Xiao Qianshan agreed this time, his expression softening. He had thought he was going to die, but now he could hear the little guy calling him grandpa. Even with his strong personality, he felt a sense of relief, as if he had survived a disaster.
His gaze shifted between Xiao Wujie and Chu Liyue, a look of satisfaction appearing in his eyes.
He was well aware that he had survived this time entirely because of Chu Liyue's foresight and all-out rescue efforts.
Xingyun said that this calamity was his destiny, and now that his calamity could be resolved, he thought that the little guy would also be able to turn bad luck into good and be reborn.
After a moment, he suppressed his emotions, his expression turned serious, and he said in a low voice, "I have received some intelligence, you should be careful."
"God's power has been completely taken over by Aisie Hall, and so has that SL."
