Haha, hello to my dear readers!
Did this title give you a fright, making you think it's completely over and there won't be any more side stories?
Haha, don't worry, I'll write the extra chapters and start posting them tomorrow.
I just felt that since I've finished writing it, there should still be a sense of ceremony, because we will meet again. So I'm putting the closing remarks here instead of saying goodbye at the end.
call!
Having written this far, I only have one feeling: I'm finally done.
I breathed a sigh of relief.
On a boring, rainy afternoon, I suddenly had a whim to try writing a novel, so I did.
I initially wanted to write a fantasy novel, and I even wrote a draft of 50,000 words. But then I suddenly realized that a fantasy novel starts at two or three million words. Can a complete novice like me really write that?
Although I'm not very good at writing, I always believe in finishing what you start. I didn't have the confidence to handle a fantasy novel of several million words, so I discarded the 50,000-word draft I already had, and that's how this novel came to be.
This is my first online novel. Although it's not well-written, it's truly my personal masterpiece.
People say "everything is difficult at the beginning," and that's certainly true.
Even if I write with all my heart, when I've written hundreds of thousands of words and look back at the first 100,000 words, all I want to do is burn them all and start over.
Don't laugh at me, but when I reached chapter 50, I was quite pleased with myself, thinking I was writing really well. By chapter 200, I felt the first 100 chapters were terrible. By chapter 300, I felt the first 200 chapters were unreadable. By chapter 400, I even considered giving up.
Fortunately, they managed to persevere.
From July 24, 2024 to today, 179 days, more than 1 million words.
My abilities are limited, and I have basically never updated in bulk, which is a disservice to your expectations.
Fortunately, I haven't missed a single day of updating, and even when I take leave each month, I still manage to upload at least one chapter.
Just wondering, while I wouldn't call myself outstanding, I'm at least passable in terms of updating content, right?
I've followed novels before and know how hard it is to keep up with updates. To all the readers who have been following the updates, especially those who have followed from the early, poorly written days to today, I sincerely want to say thank you.
Thank you for your support and companionship along the way.
Writing may seem simple, but it's actually very grueling. Every day I wake up to thousands of words waiting for me, but I don't have inspiration every day. I often experience writer's block, which is extremely torturous.
However, I don't like writing drafts in advance because I prefer to communicate with you in real time to ensure that the plot and content suit your taste as much as possible.
So, if it weren't for your continued support and updates, I probably would have given up long ago.
Let's get back to the novel.
Although I'm not very good at writing, I have big ambitions. From the moment I started writing, my goal was to write a million-word novel with a rating of 9.0 or higher.
I enjoy writing long stories, ensemble pieces, narratives, emotional content, and especially detailed descriptions. With your support, I've achieved the million-word goal as expected.
To be honest, I could write hundreds of thousands or even millions more words (hehe~).
There's no need for that anymore. This length is enough for romance novels. If it gets too long, it'll just be tiring for you guys to keep up with.
In addition, I also feel that I need to take some time to reflect.
For example, I didn't expect this book to eventually get a rating of 9.0 or higher.
Because I am a novice with no experience, this article contains too many problems, especially in the early stages.
Most importantly, I secretly revised the first twenty chapters countless times, incorporating my own understanding and various comments.
What touched me most was that I really didn't expect that such a lousy book of mine would be reread by someone, and that they would even find traces of my revisions.
I was really touched, so very touched.
Most other people's books start strong but end weakly, but I wouldn't dare say mine started weakly but ended strong.
However, based on my own experience, the later chapters, especially those after chapters 270 and 280, are of much higher quality than the first two hundred chapters.
From a complete novice with no experience or skills, relying solely on passion and intuition to create, I gradually learned and improved, even though the process was difficult. Looking back, I feel truly delighted and happy.
The low quality of the first 100,000 words cannot be denied, but speaking only of my book, I would like to ask for the third time: compared to the disastrous beginning, the ending should not be considered a bad ending, right?
As I said before, although it's not well-written, this book is my personal masterpiece. My skills and experience are terrible, but I really put my heart into writing it.
Therefore, in order to avoid any regrets, during the writing of the side stories, I will mainly focus on the first 100,000 words, including the entire text, and make careful revisions.
The plot will remain largely unchanged, but I will carefully proofread it to correct typos, grammatical errors, and improve the flow of the writing.
If you're interested, feel free to take a look back and point out any flaws. Any opinions are welcome in the comments section, and I will consider them carefully.
Having poured so much effort into it, I feel a sense of relief upon finishing it, but also a genuine sense of reluctance.
Countless nights spent writing, racking my brains to refine the plot, characters, details, and writing style.
In terms of plot, I like stories with twists and turns, sweet and heart-wrenching moments, emotional shifts, and rich content. Overall, I think I've managed to do that to a passable degree.
In terms of characters, I want to write each character as vividly and realistically as possible, making them three-dimensional and lifelike.
One of the more controversial figures is Lin Qingyi, and I will provide a unified explanation here.
In my initial vision, Lin Qingyi was to be a completely tragic character, and more than half of the book's torment would likely unfold through her.
Based on my original idea, she was raped by Vito Rosso and later rescued by the protagonist, Wu Jie.
