After taking a three-month vacation from Chu Nanfeng's trap, Chu Liyue, along with Xiao Wujie, Yun Mo, Chu Wan, Lu Zhufeng, Ai Ruoman, and Lin Qingyi, traveled to the far north.
Lu Zhufeng recklessly suggested that, thanks to the extraordinary abilities of Xiao Wujie, the group would take another trip to the Frozen Ghost Realm and even see the polar bear they had met before.
After traveling to the far north, the group went to Western European countries for inspiration. By the time they returned to the capital of China, it was already close to the Spring Festival.
Early in the morning, Lu Zhufeng came and banged on the door. Xiao Wujie was fast asleep in Chu Liyue's arms.
Chu Liyue pulled down the strap of her nightgown that had slipped into her arms, sat up with Xiao Wujie in her arms, and coldly uttered a single word, "Enter."
Xiao Wujie wasn't used to waking up too early, so he leaned against Chu Liyue's chest, still half asleep, and whimpered softly.
Chu Liyue patted his shoulder reassuringly, her expression icy as she stared at Lu Zhufeng: "You'd better be in trouble!"
Lu Zhufeng stiffened slightly under her piercing gaze, a forced smile playing on his lips as he pointed to Xiao Wujie, whose face was buried in her chest, refusing to look up.
"I... am looking for him."
Xiao Wujie was so sleepy he could barely keep his eyes open. He lifted his left eyelid like a one-eyed dragon, his voice hoarse with dissatisfaction, revealing that he hadn't had enough sleep:
"What do you want from me...?"
Lu Zhufeng glanced at Chu Liyue, whose expression was icy cold, and seeing his sleepy look, he licked his lips dryly and said awkwardly:
"Didn't you say you'd come back and go shopping for New Year's goods with me?"
Xiao Wujie's brain went blank for a few seconds before he finished processing the information. He then abruptly lifted his right eyelid, his tone so cold it could melt ice:
Will the market collapse in a few hours?
Lu Zhufeng forced a smile, his survival instincts kicking in, and stammered, "Mainly... if we go too late... the good stuff might be snatched up by someone else."
Seeing the coldness in Xiao Wujie's eyes about to solidify, he quickly shouted, "There's more!"
"When you go out, you must comb your hair, wash your face, iron your clothes, and polish your shoes until they look like a dog licked them!"
"I called you too late, wasn't there enough time?"
Upon hearing this, Xiao Wujie pursed his thin lips, and the coldness in his eyes dissipated considerably.
That doesn't seem to be wrong.
Seeing Lu Zhufeng's smug look, he sighed, buried his face in Chu Liyue's neck, closed his eyes, and gently nuzzled her, clinging to her softly.
"Sister, I'm still sleepy. I want you to carry me while I wash."
After washing up and having breakfast, Chu Liyue kissed Xiao Wujie for a while, then took Chu Wan and Ai Ruoman to work.
Xiao Wujie, Lu Zhufeng, and Yun Mo were left to prepare for the New Year.
Originally, they were going to drive there, but Lu Zhufeng said that the market was congested everywhere at this time, so it would be better to use a simpler and more convenient means of transportation.
The manor's garage and basement contain cars, tanks, and airplanes, but it's hard to find simple and convenient means of transportation.
In the end, I borrowed a pink electric scooter from a maid.
Lu Zhufeng rode the bicycle, with Xiao Wujie sitting on the back, in front of Yunmodun.
Yunmo's head peeked out slightly, a tuft of hair sticking out in the wind and brushing against Lu Zhufeng's face, which Lu Zhufeng dismissively blew away.
"Sit still, sit still. Look at you, so ignorant. Have you never ridden in such a luxurious car before?"
Yunmo rolled her eyes speechlessly and said worriedly, "Old Lu, you're not even wearing a helmet, and the way we're sitting..."
Lu Zhufeng, full of pride and exuding nonchalance, said: "What's there to be afraid of? My head is harder than a helmet, and my driving skills are top-notch. Just stay away from me."
Five minutes later, the three were caught by the traffic police, paid fines, and Lu Zhufeng stood at the front being scolded, nodding vigorously, "Okay, okay, police officer."
The traffic policeman raised an eyebrow slightly: "You look older than me."
In the end, Yunmo grabbed a public electric bicycle and cursed Lu Zhufeng all the way.
Their destination was the largest commodity market in the capital. With the Spring Festival approaching, the market was packed with people. On the bustling streets, one could hardly touch the ground and was practically carried around.
The three of them mainly purchased fresh food and other necessities according to the festival customs.
After browsing around, Lu Zhufeng looked like an elder of the Beggars' Sect with eight bags of cloth clothes, his body covered with things. Yun Mo was in charge of looking at and selecting items, while Xiao Wujie was in charge of scanning codes and paying.
By the time the three of them finished shopping and came out, it was almost noon.
Lu Zhufeng called the manor's servants to take the purchased items back, while he took Xiao Wujie and Yun Mo to the company to find their respective wives.
When the pink electric scooter stopped at the company entrance, Chu Liyue was just coming downstairs with two company employees behind her to handle some business.
The moment she saw Xiao Wujie, she turned around and whispered a few words to the two employees before quickly walking towards him in her high heels.
Without hesitation, Xiao Wujie threw himself into her arms and softly called out, "Sister."
Chu Liyue hugged him, gently ruffling his hair. Her gaze fell on Lu Zhufeng, whose face instantly darkened. She raised an eyebrow at the pink electric scooter, her tone icy:
"You brought him here on this?"
"They won't even let him wear a hat?"
Lu Zhufeng's breath hitched, and he forced a smile: "Well, it can't be that bad..."
Chu Liyue's gaze was so cold it could freeze a person, her eyes like knives cutting into Lu Zhufeng inch by inch: "If he catches a cold, I'll feed you this year's New Year's mascot."
After saying that, she ignored Lu Zhufeng's reaction, took Xiao Wujie's cold hand, and walked into the company building.
It was almost lunchtime. Xiao Wujie had been walking around all morning, and his body was sore and he was hungry.
Chu Liyue led him directly into the company cafeteria, personally got him a meal that suited his taste, and sat down next to him to eat.
While eating, Xiao Wujie put one leg on Chu Liyue's leg and enjoyed her gentle massage.
"Sister, aren't you going to eat?"
Chu Liyue shook her head to indicate that she had already eaten, but still indulgently took the small dish he offered to her.
As they walked out of the company cafeteria hand in hand, Xiao Wujie felt that the company employees were looking at him with resentment and anger, their eyes filled with "Why does he have the right to do this!"
