Zi Teng's crying came rather suddenly.
I rubbed my temples, thankfully the wisteria dagger had been put away.
I glanced at the wisteria, which was sobbing softly, and then looked outside the door. With all the commotion we made, why didn't anyone outside ask? Had wisteria done something?
Unfortunately, without magic, I couldn't see anything. I pursed my lips, got out of bed, pulled up the wisteria on the ground, and gently comforted it, "Wisteria, I promise you, even if I die, I will make sure your aunt is safe." After speaking, I secretly looked at the wisteria's expression by the moonlight. I must not provoke the wisteria. What if the wisteria suddenly pulls out a dagger from its bosom and stabs me? Wouldn't I be dead?
Fortunately, after hearing what I said, Zifang rubbed her eyes, tilted her head, and asked me with childlike innocence, "Really?"
"Yes." I nodded solemnly.
If things really come to light, I will tell Liu Lieyu that it was all my idea and that Fei Yan had nothing to do with it.
"Alright, stop crying." I wiped away the tears from Zi Teng's eyes. "Did you see your aunt today?"
Zifang nodded. "Yes. My aunt asked me if I deliberately called her away so that you wouldn't be able to see her."
"Is your aunt going to see me?" I quickly asked. "What did she say?"
"Your aunt said she'll come back to see you tomorrow."
"Really?" I couldn't help but smile. That's great! I'll be able to see Fei Yan tomorrow.
I noticed that Zifang looked a little dejected, so I quickly comforted her, "Don't worry, I won't kill your aunt. Your aunt is such a smart person, don't worry."
Wisteria looked up at me, her lips moving as if she wanted to say something.
"What's wrong?" I asked, touching the wisteria's little braid.
"Imperial Consort, do you really not like Donghuang at all?" Zifang asked, seemingly unwilling to give up.
I was taken aback. Why does Wisteria feel like a CP fan?
"I don't like it, I like You."
Wisteria curled her lip and said in a disdainful and angry tone, "What's so good about that good-for-nothing? He's just a sycophant!"
I couldn't help but defend You, "The You of today is not the You of the past. They are just a few souls who should have died long ago. The real You would never flatter Liu Lieyu."
Wisteria still pouted in dissatisfaction, completely disbelieving what I said.
I sighed. Was Liu Lieyu planning to use You's brothers to ruin You's reputation?
I shook my head and yawned. "It's getting late, you should get some rest too."
I didn't sleep well all night because of the wisteria. I have to get up early tomorrow, and I don't know when Fei Yan will come.
Zi Teng gave me a deep look, then tugged at my sleeve and said, "Your Majesty, you must not let anything happen to my aunt."
I nodded and made several promises before Zi Teng left my room, turning back every few steps.
The next day, I got up early, humming a song as I picked out an outfit from the closet, and then went to the bathroom to wash up.
My room has a modern style, and the bathroom is fully equipped with toiletries, which is super convenient.
After I took a shower and dressed up carefully, I sat in my room, eagerly waiting for Fei Yan to arrive.
"Wisteria," I called out towards the door.
"Your Majesty, I am here."
Zi Teng pushed open the door and entered. When she saw me again, she smiled sweetly, as if last night was just a dream I had.
"Wisteria, what time did your aunt say she'd be arriving?"
"What time is my aunt arriving? What are you talking about, Your Majesty?" Zi Teng touched my forehead, then touched her own.
With a loud bang, I froze as if struck by lightning.
