That day, as soon as I got up, Huanzi stood by my bedside and stared at me intently.
I was startled. Huanzi already had a cold and aloof demeanor, and it was quite frightening that she suddenly stood by my bedside.
"What's wrong?" I rubbed my eyes and yawned.
Huanzi remained silent, but handed me a note.
I took it with a puzzled look, opened it and saw only a few words: "Please come to my palace at Shenshi (3-5 PM) for a chat. Fei Yan."
"What does this mean?" After reading it, I crumpled the paper into a ball and silently tucked it into the inside pocket of my clothes.
"Lord Feiyan requests a chat with you."
"What does she want from me? Okay, I got it." I pretended to be confused, after all, I still didn't know who Huanzi was working for. What if she was sent by Liu Lieyu to scam me?
Huanzi didn't seem to care and remained aloof.
I sighed and got up. It was late afternoon, Shenshi (3-5 PM).
After leisurely washing up and getting dressed, I strolled out and walked as if taking a walk to Fei Yan's palace.
Fei Yan is now a very busy person in Guixu. She handles more things every day than Liu Lieyu. Liu Lieyu delegates many things to Fei Yan, while he has plenty of time to mess with me.
I reckon Fei Yan's palace isn't empty anymore, is it?
But when I arrived at the entrance of Feiyan Palace, I realized I was wrong! Feiyan Palace was still empty, without even a gatekeeper.
Just as I was about to knock, the door suddenly opened, and Fei Yan's face appeared in the doorway, with an expression that said she had expected it to be me.
Fei Yan invited Huanzi and me inside, while the rest of the people remained outside.
As soon as I entered the door, I heard Fei Yan ask, "There's only one week left of the eighty-one days. Tell me some of your private matters with Donghuang and your habits so I can be prepared."
I glanced silently at Huanzi beside me. Okay, now it's confirmed, Huanzi is Feiyan's woman.
"Okay." I followed Fei Yan into the previous room, and Huanzi served tea to Fei Yan and me with practiced ease.
I sat next to Fei Yan this time, and before I spoke, I glanced around nervously, worried that Liu Lieyu might appear at any moment.
Fei Yan picked up her teacup and took a sip of tea. "Don't worry. Donghuang has gone out and won't appear here."
"Where did you go?"
Fei Yan spoke indifferently, unwilling to elaborate, "Something happened in Hell, and Donghuang went to see it."
"Oh." Since Fei Yan didn't want to say more, I wouldn't ask any further. Now that Liu Lieyu wasn't around, I felt relieved.
I stayed in Fei Yan's palace from late afternoon until late evening, and my mouth was so dry from talking. Even though I kept drinking tea, my throat was still sore and dry.
After I finished speaking, I waved my hand and said, "I can't go on, my throat can't take it. Let's talk about it tomorrow."
"No way." Fei Yan refused decisively.
"Please spare me, grandma, I really can't take it anymore." I wailed, lying on the table. It was already dark outside, with stars twinkling in the sky; it was late at night.
Fei Yan frowned, reached out and touched my neck. My dry, sore throat felt as if it had been moistened by warm water, and it was instantly healed.
"Can we continue now?"
I pursed my lips and shook my head. "I'm too tired. Let's talk about it tomorrow." I looked at Fei Yan with pleading eyes.
Fei Yan shook her head again.
Oh my god, this... I'm speechless with grief.
"The night is long and many things may happen. Perhaps the Eastern Emperor will return tomorrow, and it will be inconvenient for us to meet."
"But I've stayed in your palace for so long, the Eastern Emperor will definitely find out tomorrow."
"So what if they know? They have no way of knowing what we were talking about," Fei Yan said with a hint of arrogance.
