"One heart is still missing."
"What?" Fei Yan's slightly narrowed eyes widened instantly as she looked at me.
I stood up and slowly walked to Fei Yan. My left hand was on my chest, feeling my heartbeat. In a moment, it would no longer belong to me.
Fei Yan took a few steps back in astonishment, her eyes wide and her eyebrows raised, "Are you crazy?!"
I smiled faintly, and with my left hand I took the hand that was pulling Fei Yan from my chest.
"What are you doing?" Fei Yan asked, her hand instinctively moving away from mine as I pulled her, still looking surprised and unsure.
I remained silent, took Fei Yan's slightly cool hand, placed it on my chest, and stared intently at her, saying slowly and deliberately, "You still owe me your heart."
Fei Yan's hand, which was resting on my chest, remained motionless, and the expression on Fei Yan's face slowly changed from shock to calm.
After a long while, Fei Yan suddenly spoke, "Just wait patiently."
I nodded. "Don't worry." I removed my hand from Fei Yan's hand.
I glanced down and saw Fei Yan's fair, well-defined hand resting on my chest. I could even see the purplish veins and fine hairs on Fei Yan's wrist.
If a mortal loses his mind, he will surely die, but if we immortals lose our minds, we will be fine, I suppose.
"Have you thought it through?" Fei Yan's gaze was fixed on my chest, then she looked up at me again.
"I've made up my mind." I looked up, then shifted my gaze to the side. "Let's get started."
Fei Yan was very close to me. I felt her calm breathing suddenly become heavier twice. After a short, deep breath, I suddenly felt a heart-wrenching pain in my chest.
I frowned slightly, biting my lower lip hard with my teeth, enduring the pain, and stubbornly refusing to utter a sound.
Fei Yan moved quickly, and the pain was only brief. When I turned my head, I saw a spherical object in Fei Yan's hand with a faint golden glow around it.
Is this my heart?
"Thump, thump, thump," the silent room made my heart pound even louder.
Fei Yan glanced at my heart and then put it away.
Fei Yan looked at me with a complicated expression, then suddenly reached out and touched my chin, her thumb gently stroking my lower lip. I looked at Fei Yan in surprise, wondering what she was going to do.
I soon found out what Fei Yan was doing. I saw my pale face and my bleeding lower lip reflected in Fei Yan's pupils. As Fei Yan's thumb traced across my face, my bloodstained lower lip returned to normal.
I took a few steps back, feeling inexplicably embarrassed. After a brief silence, I broke the silence first.
"With this heart, no one can tell."
Fei Yan nodded slightly, without saying a word.
I suddenly lost my mind and felt weak. Huanzi helped me up, and I sat down on the sofa. After calming my breathing, I said, "Why don't you try it now?"
Fei Yan thought for a moment and nodded in agreement, "Okay."
Fei Yan took out my heart, performed a ritual to integrate it into her own body, and silently chanted a spell. In an instant, a woman who looked exactly like me appeared before me.
Fei Yan closed her eyes, slightly adjusted her state, and when she opened them, her eyes were full of affection, and she smiled sweetly as she said, "Lie Yu, you're back."
I nodded in satisfaction. This imitation really does resemble me; I can rest assured now.
“We don’t necessarily have to wait until the grand ceremony to change. You can pretend to be me these days, and I’ll pretend to be a palace servant by your side. If anything is wrong, you can come and ask me anytime.” I lay half-reclined on the sofa, looking at Fei Yan with satisfaction.
"OK."
