You's eyes darkened. "Wait for me. I will rescue you and Feng Su soon."
After You finished speaking, she released her hand that had been tightly holding mine and prepared to leave the palace.
I quickly grabbed You, "Where are you going?"
You turned her head, paused for a moment, and left only one sentence, "Wait for me to come back."
"Don't go." I clung to You's clothes, refusing to let go. "You, have you heard?"
"Xin'er, what's wrong?" You turned to look at me, a hint of joy flashing in her eyes. "Xin'er, are you going to come with me?"
"No." I shook my head, and after a moment of silence, I decided to speak my mind. "You, if we want to defeat Liu Lieyu, we must seize the Nuwa Cauldron, a divine artifact in Liu Lieyu's possession."
You pondered in silence for a moment before speaking, "I know what you're saying. Liu Lieyu must also know the importance of the Nuwa Cauldron, and he won't give us any opportunity to take advantage of him."
"You, I will help you steal the Nuwa Cauldron." I am the only one who can get close to Liu Lieyu, and there is no other candidate.
Upon hearing this, You immediately retorted in an unquestionable manner, "No way!"
"Why?" I looked up at You with a puzzled expression.
"No!" You simply said with a stern face.
Seeing You's serious expression, I could only stick out my tongue and say, "If it doesn't work out, then forget it, I won't go."
You looked at me for a long time, then earnestly advised me, "Xin'er, don't go. Don't worry, I will definitely rescue Feng Su soon and then come to find you."
I nodded obediently, "Okay, I won't go. I'll wait for you here."
"Xin'er, I'm really worried." You said, pulling me into her arms again. "Xin'er, why don't you come with me? I promise I'll rescue Feng Su."
“You, we’ve already discussed this,” I said, tugging at You’s sleeve.
Actually, I also wanted to leave with Youyi, and I didn't want to stay by Liu Lieyu's side, but I wouldn't be at ease until Feng Su was out of danger.
Before leaving, You quietly kissed my forehead and then disappeared.
I stayed there alone, staring blankly for a long time, then returned to my bed with a smile on my face.
I sat on the bed, my hands clasped around my legs, my chin resting on my knees, wondering what You would do after she left.
You just told me not to steal the Nuwa Cauldron, but I absolutely have to steal it!
If Liu Lieyu has the Nuwa Cauldron, You and I will never be able to defeat him. What if You and I escape and are caught by Liu Lieyu again? Although I don't want to kill him, I also have the ability to protect myself. I don't want to become their prey again.
I was squatting on the bed, lost in thought, when Liu Lieyu suddenly appeared beside me.
I glanced listlessly at Liu Lieyu, then rested my chin on my lap, my eyes darting around as I pondered some mischievous ideas.
Liu Lieyu suddenly leaned closer to me and sniffed lightly with his nose. "Has someone been here?"
I was panicking inside, but I remained calm on the surface. "Who could be here? There are layers upon layers of guards outside."
Liu Lieyu glanced at me suspiciously. "Someone come here."
"Greetings to the Eastern Emperor."
"Has anyone come while I've been away?" Liu Lieyu straightened up and put his hands behind his back.
My heart suddenly pounded with nervousness, and my palms were sweaty.
"Reporting to Donghuang, no one has come." Hearing the servant's report, my tense mood eased a bit, but I still had to be extremely careful. Liu Lieyu was not someone who could be easily fooled.
"No one here?" Liu Lieyu slowly paced around the hall, squinting as he scanned the room.
"You may leave." Liu Lieyu suddenly waved his hand, and the kneeling servants disappeared with bows.
I still rested my chin on my knees, my gaze fixed on my fair feet. Once again, only Liu Lieyu and I remained in the hall.
I thought for a moment and decided to say something to ease the awkwardness before the atmosphere became too ambiguous. "I heard they said you went to the West?"
"Who said that?" Liu Lieyu slowly moved to the bedside, and gently sat down on the edge of the bed while holding onto the bed frame.
“I heard it from the little palace maid who serves me.” I still didn’t dare to look up into Liu Lieyu’s eyes.
Liu Lieyu nodded noncommittally, "Yes, that's right." Suddenly, a hand landed on my shoulder and gently stroked it. "Xin'er, you didn't meet with someone while I was away and secretly plot to leave me, did you?"
I forced myself to remain calm. "How could that be? Who else could I possibly look for in this vast Ruins of Return?"
Liu Lieyu chuckled softly, "That's true."
I lowered my eyes and dug my hands tightly into the flesh of my leg. "What did you do in the West?"
"I'm going to visit an old friend."
"An old friend?" I was taken aback and looked up at Liu Lieyu, whose eyes were squinting at me.
"Yes. Your subordinate, Luo."
Could Liu Lieyu have arrested Luo Ye? I stared into Liu Lieyu's long, deep eyes, but I couldn't see anything. Instead, I saw my anxious face reflected in his eyes.
"Liu Lieyu, you..." I stammered, "Liu Lieyu, you didn't do anything to Luo, did you?"
Liu Lieyu's lips curled up slightly, his brows relaxed, and he seemed quite happy. "No." Liu Lieyu let out a soft hum from the tip of his nose. "Your Luo is quite a real person, though."
"What do you mean?" I asked, puzzled.
Liu Lieyu leaned down and kissed my forehead again. "You don't need to worry about it. You just need to know that Luo Ping is safe and sound."
I lowered my eyes and softly said, "Oh."
Did Luo do something? But whatever he did, as long as Luo is safe, that's all that matters.
"Do you want to see Luo?" Liu Lieyu leaned close to my ear and whispered.
"What do you mean?" I opened my eyes. I remembered that last time Liu Lieyu asked me to see Feng Su, Feng Su looked miserable.
"Don't worry." Liu Lieyu chuckled when he saw my panic. "Luo is different from Feng Su." Liu Lieyu raised his eyes slightly, his gaze shifting. "Luo has already submitted to me."
"Submission?"
“Yes, Luo is now considered one of my top generals. Those people in the Heavenly Court have all submitted to me.” Liu Lieyu said, glancing down at me.
My heart is filled with mixed feelings, and I don't know what to say.
Liu Lieyu's power has grown even stronger. It's fortunate that I didn't escape back then. If I had escaped and taken Feng Suyou with me to seek refuge with Luo, would I have been caught by Liu Lieyu by now?
I'm getting more and more worried about You. You said she would save me, but Liu Lieyu has such a powerful force and many soldiers under her command. You is all alone. How can You save me?
What if You fails to save me and instead exposes us, allowing Liu Lieyu to find out?
"Xin'er, what are you thinking about?" Liu Lieyu suddenly called out to me in a deep voice.
"Congratulations." I replied perfunctorily to Liu Lieyu, snapping out of my daze.
Liu Lieyu squinted and ruffled my hair. "Congratulations are not the right thing to do."
