"Xin'er, stop thinking about running away." Liu Lieyu picked up a strand of my hair and smelled it. "No matter where you run to, I will bring you back." Liu Lieyu's tone was calm and casual, but very firm.

As long as I'm by your side, I'll always be thinking about running away. I lowered my eyes and thought to myself.

I snatched my hair back, pulled the blanket over myself, and turned away from Liu Lieyu.

I heard Liu Lieyu burst out laughing.

I felt increasingly frustrated.

"Xin'er?" Liu Lieyu suddenly called out to me.

"Go to sleep!"

"Asleep?" I could picture Liu Lieyu's smug face even from under the covers. "How can you talk if you're asleep?"

I was so angry that I stopped talking and, as I lay there, I actually fell asleep.

The next day, I woke up again, but Liu Lieyu was still nowhere to be seen. I touched the already cold blankets by the bedside, and it seemed that Liu Lieyu had already left.

Liu Lieyu said yesterday that Luo has already submitted to him?

I thought about Luo's cold and calculating demeanor. I figured Luo probably wasn't truly submitting to Liu Lieyu. After all, Luo was someone who desperately wanted to be the boss.

You has disappeared, and I'm trapped in this palace all day, like Rapunzel in the High Castle. No, Rapunzel could use her long hair to escape, but what about me? I have nothing.

I sighed and lay on the bed staring at the ceiling.

During these days of being naked, I spent most of my time in bed, and the rest of the time I spent in the bathroom.

Liu Lieyu's palace is large, very large, but cold and desolate. It is filled with black marble and is empty and devoid of any human presence. If I were still an ordinary person, I would definitely be afraid to stay in such a place.

As I lay in bed lost in thought, a series of joyous sounds suddenly came from outside—the banging of gongs and drums, creating quite a lively atmosphere.

The last time Guixu was this lively was during my and Liu Lieyu's ceremony. What's going on this time?

Is anyone home?

"The Emperor's Consort."

"What's going on outside? Why is it so lively?!" I looked out the window curiously.

"Your Majesty, they are welcoming the Lord of Heaven outside," the palace maid replied coldly.

"The Lord of Heaven?" I was taken aback. The first person I thought of was right here. A few seconds later, I realized, "Is it the Goddess of the Luo River?"

"That's right," the palace maid replied, bowing slightly.

Suddenly, a man rushed in from outside, greeted me, and then whispered something in the woman's ear.

I rested my chin on my hand, watching the two of them whispering in front of me.

The man finished speaking quickly, then bowed to me and took his leave.

"What did he say to you?" I turned to ask the little palace maid kneeling by the bed.

"Reporting to Your Majesty," the young palace maid kowtowed to me first, then continued, "The Eastern Emperor just sent someone to inform us that we should dress you up and prepare you for the upcoming event."

I was stunned, somewhat incredulous. Was I really going to have to go out again?

I licked my dry lips. Seeing this, a palace maid quickly poured me a cup of tea from the table and handed it to me, saying, "Your Majesty, please."

I took it and drank it all in one gulp. To be honest, I was actually quite thirsty.

Seeing that I seemed a little thirsty, the young palace maid took the empty cup from my hand, moved to the table, and poured me a cup of tea. "Your Majesty, please."

I drank two or three glasses in a row before my dry throat felt a little better. Then I asked, "Did Liu Lieyu really say that?"

“That’s right,” the palace maid replied, bowing her head.

My eyes involuntarily lit up. Great! I can go out again. The last time I went out, Liu Lieyu dragged me to jail.

That time, it hardly counted as going out; it left a psychological scar.

This time, a smile appeared on my face.

Since it's a grand welcoming ceremony, the scene must be incredibly interesting. Not to mention the beautiful fairy sisters dancing, there will definitely be plenty of delicious food and wine.

Since I moved into Liu Lieyu's palace, I haven't had a decent meal or even a snack. I suspect that Liu Lieyu is deliberately torturing me and not telling me this.

I remember asking once, but Liu Lieyu told me that my magic power had been restored, and since we are gods, why would we need to eat? He then refused my request! That was really going too far!

"Quick, let's take a shower." With that, I jumped off the bed, didn't even put on my shoes, and ran towards the bathroom.

The little palace maid followed behind me.

After three or four palace maids finished serving me my bath, they helped me change my clothes. They took out a set of formal attire from somewhere, but I found it cumbersome at first glance.

"Do I really have to wear this?" I glanced at the thick clothes and the elaborate headdress on one side, and my head started spinning.

I hate wearing these cumbersome clothes and those heavy headdresses; they always make my neck hurt.

The palace maid looked troubled. "Your Majesty, for formal occasions, you must wear these."

"Fine." I'll put up with wearing something complicated just to go out.

The palace maid's face lit up with joy, and she then instructed the remaining two or three palace maids to help me change my clothes at the same time.

Actually, I have no idea where they get all these clothes. Every time I finish showering, they always bring out a new set of clothes for me.

However, when I looked around Liu Lieyu's palace, yes, there was nothing there. Apart from a bed, a table, and a few necessary benches, it was completely empty. There was nothing superfluous, which made the huge space seem even more empty.

Sometimes I even wonder if Liu Lieyu is a minimalist? He doesn't put anything in his house?

I thought of my room in Heaven, which was always filled with fun things, delicious food, and beautiful clothes, and Chang Xi always kept it perfectly organized for me.

I miss the Heavenly Court, I miss the Netherworld, I miss Changxi.

I used to think that life in Heaven was not happy at all. I was so ungrateful. Look at my life in Guixu now, there hasn't been a single good day.

I sniffed, wondering if things would get even worse.

While I was lost in thought, I had already changed my clothes.

"Your Majesty, your clothes are ready." The maid looked up and said, "Your Majesty, please sit down. We will now help you with your hair and makeup."

"Okay." I nodded and sat down in the chair.

The palace maids then produced cosmetics and various kinds of jewelry, which were displayed on a tray.

Three or four people were carrying a tray, and two of them were doing my hair and makeup. One was combing my hair and the other was applying makeup.

All I need to do is close my eyes and let them do whatever they want.

Actually, I feel that my face is perfectly fine even without makeup.

This body is quite good-looking, otherwise Liu Lieyu wouldn't be so obsessed.
