"The steward didn't come, but he sent someone to tell the young master that the young lady is resting now and will see you again tomorrow."

"Tomorrow? That's fine too." I thought about it and realized that Man Jiao'er's weak appearance did indeed require rest and recuperation.

"Is the young master hungry?" the two little demons asked, pouring me another cup of tea with eager expressions.

"Is there anything good to eat?" I asked curiously, taking a sip of tea to moisten my throat. Actually, my current body wouldn't be affected much even if I didn't eat, but sometimes I still can't resist trying some delicious food. After all, I'm not a real god and can't resist the desire for food.

"Of course! Our city lord's chef is an absolute master. Young master, wait here, I'll go and have the kitchen prepare your meal right away." With that, the little demon vanished in a flash.

What good food could there be in this abyss? I was very skeptical of the little demon's words, because based on my observations of the abyss over the long period of time I've been here, it's far too barren. It's common to find nothing for miles around, and it's strangely unusual to occasionally encounter something that can be called a plant. With such a scarcity of ingredients, what good food could there possibly be?

I wanted to ask the little demon who stayed behind, but after thinking about it, I was afraid of revealing myself, so I held back and didn't ask. I figured I would know when the food arrived.

After waiting for a while, I got a little bored and decided to get up and go for a walk to get some fresh air.

"Young master, where are you going?" Little Demon asked as she followed me as I set off.

"I need to get some exercise, I'm so bored."

"Then let's not go too far, the food will be here soon."

"Okay," I replied. I didn't plan to go too far; I just wanted to take a walk in this little courtyard.

"What's your name?" I asked, glancing at the little demon behind me as I walked.

"My nickname is Xiaohua, and the one I'm with is Xiaogua."

I nodded to indicate that I understood. "What kind of person is your young lady?"

Since I have nothing else to do, I'll chat with Xiaohua to learn more about Manjiao'er, so I can be prepared when we meet tomorrow.

“Our young lady…” Xiao Hua looked up and pondered for a moment, “Our young lady used to be famously lively and never looked down on us lowly demons. She often played with us and was very kind. Back then, the City Lord’s Mansion was filled with our young lady’s laughter.” A trace of nostalgia appeared on Xiao Hua’s face.

Hmm, this is quite different from the charming young man I've met. Both times I've seen him, he looked sickly and heartbroken, not lively at all. As for smiling, he did smile on the stage that time, and while his smile was undeniably captivating, there wasn't a trace of joy in it.

"Sigh." Xiao Hua sighed, then couldn't help but curse, "It's all Yue Jiao's fault for ruining our young lady like this."

"Has the young lady become depressed after breaking up with Yuejiao?"

Xiao Hua was startled when I asked him a question. He shut his mouth, unsure whether to say anything or not, and looked at me apologetically.

"What's wrong?" I asked, puzzled. Why was he suddenly so startled when we were just talking?

"Young master, I deserve to die. I shouldn't have mentioned Yuejiao. Yuejiao and my young lady are innocent. Please don't take it to heart." Xiaohua said cautiously, glancing at me furtively.

I couldn't help but laugh out loud. So that's what Xiaohua cared about. "It's okay, that's all in the past."

Xiao Hua looked up at me again to make sure I really didn't care before she felt much more at ease.

I dared not ask Xiaohua about Yuejiao and Manjiao'er anymore, lest I frighten Xiaohua's fragile heart.

"Young master, I'm back! The food is here!" Little Melon shouted as soon as he reached the door, running happily towards me, followed by a group of little demons carrying food.
