You sneered, "Weren't his subordinates once mine too?"
I blinked and thought about it, and it seemed to make sense.
Since Youdu has said so, there shouldn't be a significant difference in troop strength.
"I was just wondering if Liu Lieyu would pull some tricks again."
"Don't worry, I'll know as soon as his people enter the Abyss. Have you forgotten? Nothing in this land of the Abyss can be hidden from me." You reached out and touched the top of my head.
"But hasn't Liu Lieyu been inactive lately?"
Feng Su told me all of this.
"Well, it's strange, at first he was furious and immediately gathered his troops as if he was about to attack, but then something happened and he calmed down."
“Yes,” I immediately became alert, “Liu Lieyu must be plotting something.”
You's eyes flickered slightly, as if she were thinking about something.
"Xin'er, don't worry, no matter what methods Liu Lieyu uses, I will protect you."
"You, I'm not worried about myself, I'm afraid something will happen to you again." I held onto You's clothes tightly.
You held my hand that was clutching his clothes, gently pried my fingers off, and enveloped my hand completely in his palm.
"I understand." You held my hand, his dark eyes fixed on me, his warm breath enveloping me. Suddenly, he moved and kissed my cheek.
The people inside the abyss are now filled with rage, each one wishing they could rush out of the abyss right now.
Compared to the excitement of the Abyss, Guixu seemed much quieter. Liu Lieyu hadn't made a move, but I didn't think it meant he was giving up on me. I knew his stubborn nature very well. There was only one reason for him to be quiet: he must be brewing some big move.
Feng Su has been staying by You's side lately, either studying formations or spending time in the barracks, so she is rarely seen.
Now Hao and I are the only ones with free time. Ever since You revealed her identity, Hao has also learned about You's true identity.
Fortunately, Hao wasn't petty. Feng Su and I brought him snacks to apologize. Although Hao was young, he was very sensible and didn't get angry.
"Sister, I also want to go to the military camp with Brother Feng Su."
I was taken aback. Hao's round, adorable face and small, red body seemed completely out of place in the atmosphere of the barracks.
"Why did you suddenly decide to go to the barracks?"
"Feng Su said the barracks is really fun, I want to go with Feng Su too."
I hesitated for a moment. Feng Su went to the barracks with You's permission, and I couldn't just agree to Hao's request. I was afraid it would cause trouble.
"Can I take you with me next time I go to the barracks?" I thought about it and decided that I could only ask You to take me to his barracks next time he came to see me, and to bring Hao along as well.
"My sister is the best." Hao said and then kissed me on the cheek.
I took the opportunity to hug Hao and pinch his cheek. "I promised to bring you here to play, but now you're stuck in the palace all day. Aren't you bored?"
"It's alright, I was even more bored in the Miasma Forest," Hao said with a smile. "Besides, there's so much delicious food here."
I gently patted Hao's little head and said softly, "Once these things are over, your sister will take you out to play sometime."
"Okay~" Hao blinked and smiled sweetly.
The entire palace was empty. Luckily, Hao came to keep me company from time to time. Otherwise, I definitely wouldn't have stayed here peacefully by myself. I would have tried all sorts of ways to stick to You.
After washing up, I lay on the bed, tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep.
I tightened my clothes, got out of bed, and paced back and forth in the hall.
My palace is very simple; apart from the most basic necessities, there is not a single superfluous item.
Perhaps because I was inexplicably restless from being indoors, I pushed open the door and sat on the outdoor veranda, leaning against the doorpost and looking at the water below.
The water below rippled, and a gentle breeze carried the unique fragrance of flowers to my nose. I took a deep breath; it smelled wonderful.
The fragrance of flowers and the gentle breeze instantly eased my anxiety.
I squinted and swung my legs back and forth. Maybe I should sleep here tonight. It's more comfortable here than inside.
"Xin'er, why are you sleeping here?" A familiar voice came from behind me.
It was You's voice. I turned around excitedly and saw You's handsome face.
"quiet!"
"ah!"
I turned my head too quickly, in a fit of emotion. One leg was already dangling outside, and this made me lose my balance, causing me to fall forward.
"Xin'er!" You saw me falling and her eyes showed a hint of panic. She quickly went up and grabbed me.
Unfortunately, I was just a hair's breadth away from Yu catching my hand.
I tumbled down the corridor. In the midst of the crisis, I forgot to cast a spell. Fortunately, there was water below, so it wouldn't hurt too much if I fell in. I closed my eyes, already prepared to fall into the water.
To my surprise, I was greeted not by the cold lake water, but by a warm embrace.
My nose was filled with You's unique scent, and I leaned against You's firm chest.
I opened my eyes, and there was You's perfect profile right in front of me. I looked down and saw that You's toes were just touching the water's surface. I almost fell into the water and got soaked.
"How could you be so careless?" You asked in a low, husky voice.
"I was so excited to see you back." A smile involuntarily spread across my face when I saw You.
You unconsciously smiled and placed a light kiss on my cheek before pinching it again. "Then why are you sitting outside?" she said, tightening her grip on my arm. "Be careful not to catch a cold."
"I couldn't sleep, so I sat outside to clear my head."
You carried me slowly away from the water and back onto the veranda. Once back on the veranda, You didn't put me down; she still held me tightly.
"Bang." It was the sound of the door being slammed shut.
After arriving at the door, You Guan carried me all the way to the bed, looking at me with a smile in his eyes, "Are you still feeling restless and unable to sleep?"
You was quite close to me, and the hot breath she exhaled was falling on my face. I could smell the fragrance emanating from her body. Without realizing it, my face turned red, and my heart started pounding.
"No, I won't." I said softly, my voice trembling with shyness.
"Then go to sleep." You's eyes seemed to possess some kind of magic.
I had a good night's sleep.
I woke up as soon as You got up.
I lay in bed watching You tidy herself up in front of me.
"You, are you still in the barracks?"
"Yes." You turned her head and nodded slightly.
"Can I go?" I hugged my clothes, sat up, and looked at You expectantly.
"You want to go?"
"Yes!" I nodded emphatically.
"Then come with me, I'm going there soon anyway." You agreed to my request without even thinking.
"Yay!" I jumped out of bed excitedly.
You watched me with a smile, reached out and ruffled my hair, saying, "Hurry up and get ready."
