Chapter 291

"Okay, whatever you say."

"Okay, no take-backs allowed."

Surely this time there won't be a repeat of the last blunder? I've confirmed the time and place; when the fight starts, I'll call You to take me out.

"But what if you're not there when I want to go?"

After a moment of deep thought, he took something out of his pocket and handed it to me. "If you want to find me, smash this thing."

The object You gave me felt cool to the touch. I looked down and saw that it was a piece of black jade with a cool texture.

"Okay." I glanced at it twice and then put it away.

As for the timing of the battle, it's quite easy to determine. First, I can choose to ask Hao or Feng Su. Second, the commotion outside when the battle begins is something I can't ignore even if I want to.

"Feng Su, you said that when the war breaks out, I'll go find You instead. Won't that be a hindrance?" I said, playing with the black jade in my hand with some worry.

“How could that be?” Feng Su glanced at the black jade in my hand and said, “Liu Lieyu and You Yuan rarely participate in battles. As long as Liu Lieyu doesn’t participate, You Yuan naturally won’t be busy either. Most of the time, You Yuan is either sitting in the rear or watching from afar.”

"That's good." The black jade in my hand was icy cold; even after handling it for so long, it still felt a bit chilly.

"Is this the item Youyuan gave you?" Feng Su asked, looking at the black jade in my hand.

I nodded slightly. "That's right. He said he'd come looking for me if I broke it." After saying that, I glanced at Feng Su. "Why are you acting like a child this time, fooling around with Hao?"

Feng Su chuckled, "I just wanted to show my master my heroic figure on the battlefield."

"Didn't you spend enough time with me on the battlefield before?" A helpless smile appeared on my lips. "At least eight hundred, if not a thousand."

"Then Master can see if I've improved." Feng Su smiled, her bright white teeth particularly eye-catching.

Well, Feng Su has told her everything.

When will the war begin?

There will be one the day after tomorrow.

"Okay." I nodded slightly. "I'll go see him the day after tomorrow."

Two days passed quickly, and today was the day I had arranged to meet Feng Su and the others.

As soon as I woke up, I carefully listened to the sounds outside, not wanting to miss anything.

My belly is already showing, my lower abdomen is slightly protruding, and I can feel the baby's presence without using any magic to detect it.

I placed my hand on my belly, my face full of affection, and whispered, "Baby, I'll take you to see Uncle Feng Su and Brother Hao later. They're so amazing. Don't be afraid when you see the battlefield later, okay?"

I stroked my belly and talked to the baby.

Suddenly, the sound of synchronized footsteps came from outside, followed by the sound of horns.

I immediately stood up. Has the fight started?

I listened carefully at the door for a while, then found the black jade that You had given me and threw it heavily to the ground.

The black jade fell steadily to the ground without making a sound.

Upon closer inspection, the black jade was still intact. I picked it up from the carpet, and there wasn't even a trace of it, let alone any sign of it breaking.

I looked at the soft carpet and knew that if this jade kept being dropped on the ground, it probably wouldn't break until next year.

"Sigh," I sighed softly, and with a forceful pull, "crack." The black jade shattered into several pieces in my hand.

I carefully threw the crushed pieces into the trash can. Luckily, I still have some strength; I can't break them by dropping them, and crushing them is easy.

I sat and waited for You to arrive, and the sound of the horn outside became even more melodious.

Will You renege on her promise and not come? I'm a little worried that You won't come, after all, we're at wartime, and I even went to see her.

The next second, my worries disappeared.

"Why choose this time?" You frowned slightly.

"Is that not allowed?" I stood up and grabbed You's arm. "Feng Su said you won't be busy even if Liu Lieyu isn't around."

"That's true." You Qing nodded, not denying it, "It's just that things are chaotic outside right now, and I'm worried about you..."

"With you protecting me, what do I have to be afraid of?" I smiled gently and nestled in You's arms.

"You..." You sighed and reached out a hand to hug me.

"Let's go." I looked up at You with my big, blinking eyes.

"Okay." You looked down at me, nodded gently, and placed a kiss on my lips.

You carefully led me out. There were still some soldiers left outside the tent, but most of them had gone to the battlefield with the main force.

"Where are you going?" You held my hand carefully, as if afraid that something might happen to me.

I chuckled, "Do you need to be so careful?" I patted You's nervous hand, "Don't worry, I'll be fine."

"Let's go..." My eyes darted around. Although I already knew where I should go, I was afraid You would change her mind and not take me if I said it directly.

"Let's go to that high place you took me to before. The view from there is excellent, and we can overlook the entire battlefield."

"Hmm?" You's eyes narrowed when he heard about overlooking the entire battlefield.

"Is it okay?" I tugged at You's sleeve.

"Why would you go and look down on the battlefield?" You frowned slightly, somewhat reluctant. "The fighting is about to begin, and the scene won't be pleasant."

"Hmph." I snorted and acted childishly. "You said such nice things before, that you would listen to me wherever I went. I just thought it would be safer to be close to the military camp."

"This..." You frowned even more, unsure of what to say in response.

"What haven't I seen? Why would I be afraid?"

"You're not afraid, but..." You said, her gaze shifting down to my slightly protruding belly.

I noticed You's gaze and, sticking out my belly, said, "But what? The baby is my and your child, and it's certainly not a coward."

He remained silent.

"Are you taking me or not?" I started to whine and beg.

"Okay, go, go, go." You pulled me helplessly. "It's agreed that you can only watch for a while, you can't stay long."

"Okay." I nodded and smiled with satisfaction.

You led me to the same high spot as last time, where the two sides were engaged in a fierce battle below.

Among the tens of thousands of people, I spotted Feng Su at a glance. It was mainly because Feng Su's golden hair was particularly eye-catching in the darkness. Everyone else was wearing armor, but Feng Su was the only one with her golden hair exposed.

I frowned slightly. Feng Su was really careless about safety; why wasn't she wearing armor?

Feng Su was brave and fierce, single-handedly driving back countless enemies. Even on the battlefield, Feng Su was like a phoenix soaring through the heavens, moving freely.

Hao was easy to find. On the battlefield, Hao was no longer a baby, but a red demon, whose head alone was as big as a small mountain.

The enemies around Hao were like rats at the feet of an adult; a light sweep would bring countless deaths.

I touched my chin. Hao is not bad either.

"Have you seen enough?" You urged him after a short while.
