"I'm not a ghost, how could I speak ghostly language?"
The Emperor of Fengdu has decided to ignore me.
Throughout the journey, no matter what I said, he remained completely silent.
"We've arrived." The Emperor of Fengdu stopped in front of the house.
"oh."
The Emperor of Fengdu turned to leave, but I quickly grabbed his sleeve. "Where are you going?"
The Emperor of Fengdu paused, glanced at my hand tugging at his sleeve, and said, "I have to attend to official business."
"Oh." I released the sleeve of the Emperor of Fengdu. "Then go ahead."
The Emperor of Fengdu left without looking back.
I shouted again, "Remember to chat with me when you're done!"
The Emperor of Fengdu quickened his pace as he departed.
I lay back in my room, wondering why the Emperor of Fengdu had brought me back.
I looked myself over and wondered, what do I have that the Emperor would care about?
I'm confused. I've thought about it for a long time, but I can't figure it out. Oh well, I'll just take it one step at a time.
If the Emperor of Fengdu is going to kill me, well, that's fine too, at least I'm good-looking.
I don't need to bother going to Liu Lieyu to beg for death anymore.
A sad smile tugged at the corners of my mouth. I closed my eyes, intending to take a nap, but tears still involuntarily streamed down my face.
The next day, when I woke up, the room was still empty, and there was no ghost outside the door.
It's so deserted here, I sighed.
Being alone here, I'm overwhelmed by sadness.
I suddenly stood up, refusing to let myself continue being sad.
I stood outside the door shouting, "Is anyone there?! No, is there a ghost?! Are you there? Are you there?"
I called out for ages, but not a single ghost paid any attention to me.
I lowered my eyes to hide my sadness, and suddenly a dagger appeared in my hand.
"If no one pays attention to me, I'll kill myself." With that, I didn't wait and stabbed straight at my neck.
With a "clang," the dagger in my hand was knocked away.
I looked at the dagger lying on the ground; it seemed that someone still cared about my life.
"Are you crazy?!" The next second, came the cold voice of the Emperor of Fengdu.
I said with a smile, "I woke up all alone, feeling incredibly lonely. I called out for ages, but no ghost answered, so I had no choice but to die."
The Emperor of Fengdu was taken aback, and after a long while said angrily, "If you're going to die, don't die here. It's bad luck."
I suddenly laughed. The Emperor of Fengdu is surrounded by ghosts. Would he really think it's unlucky to die here?
"You're injured." The Emperor of Fengdu looked at my neck.
I couldn't see it when I looked down, so I casually touched my neck and sure enough, my hand was covered in blood.
I'm bleeding, but why can't I feel any pain?
"It's okay, I won't die," I said casually, not caring.
The Emperor of Fengdu's eyes changed color, and he finally reached out a hand to gently stroke my neck to stop the bleeding.
Looking at the face of the Emperor of Fengdu, I suddenly remembered that Youye had once soothed my wounds.
Seeing me in a daze, the Emperor of Fengdu blushed again and casually tossed me a wet towel, saying, "Wipe your blood off yourself."
I took the towel, looked at the wet towel in my hand, and carefully wiped my neck.
After I finished wiping, I asked the Emperor of Fengdu curiously, "Your Majesty, aren't you supposed to be working? Why are you so prompt?"
The Emperor of Fengdu looked somewhat uneasy. "It's on the way."
"On the way again?" I obviously didn't believe it.
"Your Majesty, what's so fun about Hell?"
"Fun?" The Emperor of Fengdu frowned and thought for a long time before shaking his head. "No."
"Great Emperor, what do you do every day in Hell?" I asked the Fengdu Emperor curiously.
"Don't call me the Great Emperor anymore." The Great Emperor of Fengdu frowned slightly. "Call me Lan Qi."
"Lan Qi?" I glanced at him slightly. "A nice name."
"Lan Qi, what do you do every day?"
"I'm handling official business and taking a break," Lan Qi replied, his tone still indifferent.
"That's it?" I was a little confused.
"Um."
"Aren't you bored?" Even I find it monotonous.
"There's a lot of official business."
"Sigh, at your level, you could easily delegate tasks to others and enjoy a peaceful life."
What I'm saying is absolutely true. When I was born, the Great Emperor of Yingdu was already ruling over Hell.
He spent a long time in hell.
Lan Qi did not answer my question.
"Stop hurting yourself." Lan Qi suddenly said this out of the blue.
I chuckled and stepped forward, looking into Lan Qi's dark eyes. "If you stay with me every day, I won't hurt myself."
Lan Qi frowned slightly, feeling as if he had brought back a troublesome person, but he couldn't just abandon Nv Xin.
"I have a lot of official business to attend to every day."
"It's okay, I'll just stay by your side and watch you handle it." I said nonchalantly. "Don't worry, I won't look at your secrets."
"There are no secrets in hell."
"What's there to be afraid of? Just let me come with you. I'm really scared to be here alone."
Lan Qi looked at me coldly, as if to say, "I can't see any fear in you."
"Is it okay?" I blinked at Lan Qi and continued, "If you bring me back, aren't you going to take responsibility?"
"You brought me back, you can't just abandon me, can you?"
Lan Qi frowned slightly and uttered a "Okay".
Lan Qi was extremely surprised to hear himself agree.
"Hehe." I smiled with satisfaction and officially followed Lan Qi.
Lan Qi's life was indeed as he said: aside from official duties, he only rested.
Lan Qi's rest involves meditation.
I was completely bewildered after just one day of this ascetic lifestyle!
Good heavens, isn't Lan Qi bored doing this every day?
No wonder Lan Qi doesn't like to talk. Doesn't he become withdrawn by living like this every day?
"Lan Qi, get up!" That day, Lan Qi finished his official duties and began meditating again.
I angrily went up to pull Lan Qi up.
Lan Qi opened his eyes, his tone growing even colder, "What are you going to do?!"
Although Lan Qi's tone was unfriendly, I wasn't afraid at all.
"Stop meditating, it's so boring!" I pulled Lan Qi up.
"Then what are you going to do?" Lan Qi suppressed his anger, almost spitting out each word through gritted teeth.
"Take me out to play, I don't want to meditate!"
Lan Qi was now filled with regret. How could he have brought back such a troublesome person?!
"What do you want to play?" Lan Qi looked at Nv Xin, who was confident and unperturbed, and finally gave in.
"Let me think." I stroked my chin, thinking. There really was nothing here at Lan Qi's place; it was so boring.
"Let's go for a walk."
"Want to go out for a walk?"
“Yes,” I nodded. “I rarely come to Hell, and I wanted to see how the ghosts there live.”
Lan Qi said coldly, "How can you get through it? Those who are guilty will be punished in hell, and after serving their sentence, they can be reincarnated."
"Is there no place to live?" I asked curiously.
Lan Qi glanced at it coldly, "This is hell."
I pouted in dissatisfaction, "But they still have places to live, right? Not all of them go to reincarnation."
Lan Qi was momentarily at a loss for words.
