Chapter 552 I Have No Family (2/2)

Ruan Wushuang's smile immediately froze, and she was so angry that she wanted to bite Huo Minxue.

This man is really wasting his breath.

"What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell anywhere? Should I call a doctor for you?" Huo Minxue asked tentatively, looking at Ruan Wushuang, whose face had turned pale again.

"No need!" Ruan Wushuang withdrew her gaze.

"Well..." Huo Minxue wanted to say that if she was alright, he would go back first.

It was already very late, and if he didn't go home soon, his family would definitely worry. But before he could finish speaking, Ruan Wushuang interrupted him.

"You just said you've owned cats?"

"Yes." Huo Minxue nodded.

"Then do me a favor." Ruan Wushuang looked at him again.

“…You go ahead,” Huo Minxue said slowly.

"The cat I rescued last night is still in my shop. It was injured, and I didn't leave it much food. Could you go and feed it for me?"

"Feed the cat?" Huo Minxue was slightly taken aback.

"Yes, feed the cat."

Huo Minxue's eyes flickered, but he didn't answer immediately. He just looked at Ruan Wushuang on the hospital bed with some curiosity.

She wasn't worried about her own health at all; instead, she was even thinking about having someone feed her cat.

"What's wrong? You weren't lying just now, were you?" Ruan Wushuang narrowed her eyes when she didn't get a reply from Huo Minxue.

"No."

"Then I'll leave my cat in your care. You've been to my shop before, so you should be able to find it, right?"

"Um."

"Here's the key." Ruan Wushuang laboriously took another key off her neck and handed it over.

"..."

Even after Huo Minxue left the hospital, he was still a little confused as to why he had agreed.

He looked at the keys in his hand, sighed softly, and finally put them in his pocket before hurrying home.

When I got home, the yard was quiet, and all the other rooms were dark except for a single, dim yellow light in the living room.

Huo Minxue slowly entered the house and immediately saw Tang Chunlan asleep on the sofa.

"Mom, why are you sleeping here?" Huo Minxue stepped forward and asked in a low voice.

"Hmm?" Tang Chunlan opened her eyes groggily when she heard the noise. When she saw Huo Minxue, she immediately sat up straight. "Minxue, you're back."

"Yes, something came up today and I got back late." Huo Minxue's eyes showed a hint of guilt.

"It's alright, I figured you must have been delayed by work." Tang Chunlan breathed a sigh of relief after confirming that Huo Minxue was alright.

"Mom, if I come home late in the future, you don't need to wait for me. I'll most likely be working overtime at the office," Huo Minxue said softly.

"It's nothing, I was just watching TV," Tang Chunlan said with a smile.

"Then hurry up and reply to my message." Huo Minxue knew that Tang Chunlan was just making excuses to avoid blaming herself, so he didn't call her out on it.

"Okay. You should get some rest too." Tang Chunlan got up.

"good."

"..."

The next morning.

Huo Minxue got up an hour earlier than usual, and even skipped breakfast before rushing out the door.

Tang Chunlan only had time to stuff a steamed bun into his hand.

"Eat on the way."

"Okay." Huo Minxue smiled and waved to her.

Watching Huo Minxue walk away, Tang Chunlan couldn't help but sigh.

"I leave early and come home late every day, I almost live at the company. If this continues, I might not be able to find a wife."
