Chapter 57 Shock (2/2)

Before he could even recover from his shock, Zhou Cheng and his men opposite him had already raised their guns and begun sweeping across the area.

"Bang bang bang".

"Pfft! Pfft!"

"Ahhh!! What is that, Commander... What are all these things? They're all dead, only wounds on their bodies, no hidden weapons found! Killing weapons, these are killing weapons!"

The sound of bullets piercing flesh echoed incessantly in my ears.

At this moment,

The commander even doubted if he was dreaming. He sat pale-faced in the pool of blood, wiping the warm blood splattered on his face, and shook his head blankly: "This isn't real, this isn't real!"

"This is a dream, I must be dreaming, right...?"

"Commander!" The subordinate dragged the commander away in terror. "It's true! The head of the secret guards and the warden were telling the truth. Zhou Cheng really does possess such a terrifying weapon."

"Commander, all our men are dead! Retreat, retreat now!"

The commander, realizing what was happening, was trembling.

In just a few breaths, blood flowed like a river at the prison gates.

Those brave and invincible Imperial Guards didn't even have a chance to draw their swords or get close before they were instantly killed a hundred meters away.

And archers?

Dead!

They're all dead!

Moreover, Zhou Cheng and his men maintained a safe distance at all times, so the arrows simply couldn't reach that far.

"Retreat! Retreat immediately!"

"Go to the palace immediately and report to His Majesty, asking him to send another thousand... no, no, five thousand... no, ten thousand! Send another ten thousand Imperial Guards to provide support!" the commander shouted as he fled.

Everyone is afraid of death, and even a commander is afraid deep down.

He was always willing to risk his life to charge into battle in the face of any danger, but at this moment he retreated... This scene, which shattered his worldview and overturned his understanding, left him with no fighting spirit or courage whatsoever.

He led the few dozen men he had left, terrified, and ran toward the palace.

He thought,

As long as you escape to within 500 meters, you'll be safe. After all, when we were at the Zhou residence, the head of the secret guards said that Zhou Cheng's weapon could kill people from hundreds of meters away, hundreds... at most three to five hundred.

No matter how powerful the weapon in Zhou Cheng's hand is, it is impossible to kill him from a distance of 500 meters.

It'll be here soon, it'll be here soon.

Phew... We've finally arrived.

We've finally escaped to a safe area.

"Zhou Cheng, you've been harboring deadly weapons and harboring rebellious intentions all along. Just you wait!"

"So what if you have deadly weapons? Open attacks are easy to shoot, but hidden arrows are hard to defend against. How can ten of you possibly defeat tens of thousands of Imperial Guards! I will wear you down to death, even if it means exhausting your strength."

"I will go to the palace immediately to inform His Majesty and summon the Imperial Guards to take your head! I will avenge this grudge in blood!" The commander became bolder as soon as he reached the safe area and began to angrily utter harsh words.

Zhou Cheng aimed his gun at the commander's head.

A slight, disdainful smile curled at the corner of his lips.

Pull the trigger.

Bang!

One shot to the head!

The entire audience erupted in uproar.

"This...no, impossible..." Blood gushed out of the hole, and the commander felt a crimson blur before his eyes. He stared wide-eyed in disbelief and slowly collapsed to the ground.

As he fell, his eyes were still wide open, trying to look at where Zhou Cheng was behind him.

The commander is dead.

The subordinates were so frightened that they stopped breathing. Fear instantly filled their faces, and then they fled in all directions, screaming and running for their lives.

Zhou Cheng put down his submachine gun, no longer wasting bullets chasing after the group of fugitives.

Corpses lay strewn across the field before him.

He was accompanied by guards.

Zhou Cheng's long boots stomped on the ground, already exuding the majesty of an emperor. He led ten guards, carrying the victory that shook the capital, stepping on the bloodstains that stained the ground, and walked away step by step.
