Chapter 10: So Addictive
Qi Cong didn't want to come here at first, but he didn't eat lunch and was already starving. When he was sketching in the afternoon, everyone kept praising this restaurant and its delicious food.
He felt very uncomfortable because the dishes at lunch looked very ordinary.
As a result, his classmates mocked him, saying that he had never eaten it, so why did he say it was not delicious?
Qi Cong was so angry that he ran to the farmhouse after finishing the painting. He wanted to see what was so good about the food there so that he could mock it back.
Because he felt heavy-hearted throughout the journey, when he arrived at the restaurant, he didn't see the closed sign hanging at the door, nor did he notice that all the customers had left.
After entering the hall, he found that the shop assistants were eating. When they saw him come in, they looked at him with strange eyes.
"Sorry, the shop is closed." Huaguduo walked forward and said to see the guest off with a smile.
Only then did Qi Cong realize that the door was ajar, which meant the shop was closed. No wonder there was no other customer in the shop except him. He hadn't noticed it at all just now.
His face turned red and he could not help but say:
"You're not going to serve the business you've got? You only have a few dishes, and it's not too late, so why are you closing?"
Bai Mengmeng was speechless and could only stand up and ask, "Handsome guy, all the dishes we prepared are sold out. Are you hungry?"
"Well... I'm really hungry. Please serve another portion of the dishes we had at noon." Qi Cong said with some embarrassment on his face.
"The food is all gone. We can't make it for you even if you want to eat it. You'd better come earlier tomorrow.
Qi Cong naturally refused to give up. He didn't come here to eat, but to find fault.
So after taking a look, he found Liangcha holding a bowl and eating happily. He quickly said, "Are you eating noodles? I'm hungry now. Give me a bowl of noodles."
Liang Cha was stunned for a moment, without even chewing, he slurped the whole bowl of noodles into his mouth and finished it in no time.
Wiping his mouth clean, he raised the empty bowl to indicate it was gone.
Hiss... Qi Cong was so angry that his head hurt.
This guy clearly did it on purpose!
"I'll pay for it! One hundred yuan for a bowl of noodles, is that okay?!"
Without caring whether the others agreed or not, Qi Cong directly scanned the code to pay and made the matter a done deal.
Bai Mengmeng looked helpless. She might have to give her money, so she could only accept it with a smile.
"You want some noodles? No problem, just wait a moment."
He said this with a smile and turned back to prepare the noodles.
Qi Cong sat down on the chair angrily, feeling that what he had just done was not very rational.
His family had booked a restaurant for him, but instead of going to a big restaurant for a big meal, he came to such a shabby little shop to eat noodles?
What made him even more speechless was that he bought this noodle for a hundred dollars!
After a while, Bai Mengmeng came out holding a tray with a bowl of noodles and two side dishes on it. It looked ordinary.
The dish presentation is so messy that it doesn't look appetizing at first glance.
Qi Cong was about to find fault when his stomach suddenly growled. Fortunately, there were not many people in the lobby. He was too lazy to think about it and just picked up a chopstick of noodles and put it in his mouth.
The food on the other side is obviously very ordinary and not tasty at all. Tomorrow he will have to mock those classmates. It is obvious that they have never eaten anything good, so how can they think such food is delicious?
I also don’t know how these two side dishes were made.
He first picked up a piece of toon sauce with chopsticks, but after chewing it twice, he immediately felt like vomiting.
This taste is so weird!
He wanted to get angry, but Wang Hao and Liang Cha were looking at him gloomily from a distance. After all, they were here to cause trouble, and now he was alone, so Qi Cong didn't dare to make too much trouble and could only try another side dish.
As a result, as soon as I picked up a piece of chopsticks, I was immediately amazed.
"This tastes great!" Because he has liked sweets since he was a child, the sweet and salty locust flower eggs tasted crispy and sweet as soon as they entered his mouth, and in the aftertaste, he could still taste the sweet floral fragrance.
Before he knew it, he had eaten up the entire plate of locust flower eggs.
Now there is only a bowl of noodles and another plate of side dishes left.
Qi Cong hesitated for a while, then picked up another piece of toon sauce, wanting to taste it carefully.
It doesn't seem as addictive as before, but this thing smells stinky and feels disgusting, and I don't know what it is.
After a moment of silence, he put the toon sauce directly into the bowl and stirred it evenly.
With this stirring, most of the disgusting smell was immediately absorbed, and instead a fresh fragrance was emitted.
Coupled with the fresh and fragrant smell, Qi Cong felt that the food was more and more delicious. After he finished eating the noodles and found that the bowl was empty, he remembered that he came here to find faults.
But... he ate everything, so how could I find fault with him?
What puzzled him was what these two side dishes were.
Unable to suppress his curiosity, he couldn't help but ask.
"Boss, what are these two side dishes made of?"
"One dish is scrambled eggs with locust flowers, and the other is Chinese toon sauce. What do you think?"
Bai Mengmeng asked with a smile, her tone meaningful.
"It's just okay. Although it doesn't look great, it tastes okay. It's not a bad deal for a hundred yuan." Qi Cong said this reluctantly.
Because the Phoenix Mountain Scenic Area is far away from the city, although Qi Cong could take the shuttle bus directly back to the city, it was still dark when he got home.
As soon as he entered the house, his mother grabbed his ear and started scolding him.
"I specially invited a chef to come home and cook a feast today. You kept nagging me before, but now you're standing me up. How wild are you?"
Qi Cong was afraid of his mother, so he quickly begged for mercy with a smile.
"What did you eat outside today? You didn't even care about the big meal?" Mother Qi looked suspicious.
Qi Cong had completely forgotten that he had originally gone there to find fault, and quickly started to offer his courtesy: "Mom, I found a really good restaurant today. The noodles there are really delicious, and they also have Chinese toon sauce and scrambled eggs with locust flowers. I think it's even better than the crab roe noodles at Yuhuangzhai!"
Qi's mother also came from a poor family in her early years, but later made a fortune in business. When she heard this, she immediately found it funny.
Aren’t they just Chinese toon and Sophora japonica?
It was everywhere in the spring and she had eaten it countless times as a child.
"Old Qi, hurry up and get out! The sun is rising from the west today. Your precious son doesn't like big meals, but prefers wild vegetables!"
Qi Cong's face flushed red, and he couldn't help but defend himself: "I'm telling the truth, it's really delicious. If you don't believe me, I'll take you to try it tomorrow and you'll know!"
Mr. Qi has always treated his son as a treasure, so he found it strange to hear this.
"You're such a picky eater, and yet you think it's delicious? I'm really curious about what kind of delicacy it is. Your mom and I will go try it tomorrow when we're free."
