Chapter 33 No Good Intentions
"Our CEO Jiang treats his wife so well."
When Jiang's employees saw Jiang Ruohe applying medicine to me, they all whispered about it.
I glanced at Jiang Ruohe, who still had a cold and sour face. I sneered in my heart, thinking that he was just putting on a show for others, how could he really be nice to me.
The afternoon was free time. Everyone was moving around on the isolated island, some taking pictures, some chatting. I sat under a tree and took out my cell phone, feeling a little bored. I wanted to call Tian Rong to chat, but I found that the signal was too poor. Even after making several calls, there was no response.
At 4:30 in the afternoon, Jiang Ruohe's assistant came over to me and said that Jiang Ruohe was looking for me. I stood up, looked around, and asked him where Jiang Ruohe was.
"Boss Jiang said he'll be waiting for you on Lonely Mountain."
I frowned and whispered that Jiang Ruohe must have something to tell me that he had to run so far to tell it. I looked up and said thank you to him, then walked towards Gushan.
When we got to Solitary Mountain, the sun was about to set, but I didn't see Jiang Ruohe. I checked the time on my phone. Damn, it was almost half past five. Didn't we agree to gather at the pier at half past five?
I suddenly opened my eyes wide and quickly ran down the mountain, panting, only to find that there was no one there. I looked at the time and it was already past six o'clock. When I came here, Jiang Ruohe said that there would be no boats at the ferry after six o'clock.
I ran quickly to the ferry again, looking at the rippling river surface, my face pale.
How could they do this? Didn't they even notice I was missing when they gathered? They didn't even bother to wait for me, and just left like that.
By the way, Jiang Ruohe must have wanted to trick me, so he asked his assistant to lead me to the lonely mountain and let me spend the night alone on the island.
"Jiang Ruohe, you bastard. You've gone too far. I knew you had no good intentions in bringing me here." I stomped my feet and cursed at the river for a long time.
Calm down. There's no point in cursing all the time. I have to conserve my energy and spend one night on this deserted island. Even though I'm very scared, things have come to this point and I have no other choice.
I walked to a distance where I had sat before and found that my bag was still there. I opened the bag and found that someone had put a lot of snacks and a flashlight in my bag.
"Jiang Ruohe, I'll deal with you when I get back tomorrow."
After eating, it was dark. I leaned against a tree trunk, looking at the dark surroundings, my heart pounding.
For the first time, I felt that time was passing by like years. I looked down at my phone and saw that it was only eight o'clock in the evening. I felt like I was having a mental breakdown. Thinking of this, I cursed Jiang Ruohe again in my heart.
Suddenly, a rustling sound came from not far away, as if it came from a certain direction, and there seemed to be heavy footsteps. I was extremely nervous, and hurriedly got up from the ground, looking around vigilantly, thinking in my mind whether there were any scary monsters on this deserted island. I was scared to death by this thought.
The sound was getting closer and closer, and my hand holding the flashlight began to tremble. I took a breath, mustered up the courage, and swept the flashlight towards the grass. The footsteps suddenly stopped. I squinted and seemed to see something covered in black. I screamed, turned around and ran.
The footsteps followed closely behind me. At this moment, I felt like I was the prey of that thing. If I ran a little slower, I would fall into the prey's mouth. I didn't want to die yet. If I died, I would not let Jiang Ruohe go even if I became a ghost.
Suddenly, I heard a plop sound behind me. I stopped, looked back boldly at the thing, was stunned, and hurriedly ran back.
Jiang Ruohe was lying on the ground covered in black mud, and the look in his eyes as he stared at me made it seem like he wanted to skin me alive.
