Chapter 2 You're Really Good at Gaining Sympathy
I didn’t hear what Jiang Mingzhe said next and fell asleep feeling a little tired.
When I woke up again, Jiang Mingzhe and Jiang Ruohe were both in the ward.
"Xiaowan, you're awake." Jiang Mingzhe looked at me kindly.
"Grandpa." I called out weakly.
"Ruohe, come and apologize to your wife." Jiang Mingzhe urged the person behind him.
The man glanced at me indifferently, and I couldn't tell how much disgust was in his eyes, but he still said without any warmth that it was him who didn't know the seriousness of the matter and caused me to have a miscarriage.
I looked at him coldly, turned my gaze away, a hint of sarcasm flashed in my eyes, and said that he didn't know the severity of the situation. If possible, he would probably want to hit him harder.
I reached out my hand and touched my lower abdomen with trembling hands under the quilt, and sighed in my heart. It’s better to be gone. If I really came to this world, it would be a tragedy to have such parents.
Jiang Mingzhe kept comforting me, saying that since we lost this time, we could have another child after recuperating for a while. When he mentioned the child, the old man became a little excited, and turned around and scolded Jiang Ruohe in front of me.
Not long after, Jiang Mingzhe received a call and looked at me apologetically, saying that he was going back to the company and asked Jiang Ruohe to take a week off to take good care of me.
When leaving, Jiang Mingzhe looked at Jiang Ruohe again.
"I happen to have a senior executive position available for transfer to Africa. If you don't want to go, take good care of it for me," Jiang Mingzhe glared at him. "If you dare to hurt Xiaowan again, I'll show you how I'll deal with you!"
The door slammed shut, and Jiang Ruohe walked over to my bed and sat down, looking at me mockingly.
"You really are trying to gain sympathy before Grandpa's New Year."
I turned around and glared at Jiang Ruohe. I really wanted to tell him not to think so badly of others, but what was the point of saying it? He always found something to belittle others.
Anyway, there was nothing to say to him. Although the child came at the wrong time, it was still his own flesh and blood. He felt very upset and irritated. He was about to pull up the quilt and go to sleep, but was stopped by Jiang Ruohe.
"Why do you feel like I'm wrong? Don't you think it's fair that you've had a miscarriage now?"
"Jiang Ruohe, are you fucking sick?" I shook off his hand and glared at him.
Probably because he had never seen me show any resistance before, Jiang Ruohe's eyes were a little surprised, and then turned cold.
"I am whatever you want me to be, it's up to you. If you've finished speaking, I want to rest now and you can go away." I said quickly without giving him a chance to speak.
"Yu Xiaowan." Jiang Ruohe gritted his teeth and called out my name.
Just then, the door of the ward opened and Jiang Ruohe hurriedly picked up a bowl of chicken soup beside the bed.
"Wife, drink it quickly." The voice was so gentle that it was sickening.
"son."
When Jiang Ruohe saw that it was his mother Wang Yingzhi who opened the door, not Jiang Mingzhe, he immediately put the bowl of soup back to its original place with disgust.
"Yu Xiaowan, what do you mean? Since you are pregnant, don't be so shameless to seduce Ruohe! Now that you have found out, Dad has taken out his anger on me... Did you do it on purpose?" Wang Yingzhi looked at me reproachfully.
Seeing the same disgust on my mother-in-law's face as Jiang Ruohe's, and a hint of bitterness in her eyes, what else could I say?
"I'll take care of her. You go check on Minwei. I just called her and she said she was in the hospital. I asked her what happened, but she wouldn't tell me."
"Miscarriage." Jiang Ruohe stared at me coldly.
"Ah, why did Minwei have a miscarriage?"
Seeing the look on Jiang Ruohe's face, Wang Yingzhi instantly realized that I had something to do with this matter, so she reached out and picked up the bowl of chicken soup and splashed it towards my face.
