Chapter 68 Sixty-Eight Cuts "Your tail is wrapped too tightly..."
Luo Mingshu hugged Xie Changming and jumped into the water, the icy pool water washing over her face.
Xie Changming's body was warm, and he subconsciously hugged Luo Mingshu tightly, his arms around her shoulders. Luo Mingshu buried her head in his broad chest, and she could hear his heartbeat.
Luo Mingshu's tail swayed gently in the water, creating ripples that soaked the two of them with the cool night air. Small. Piano. Tidying.
Xie Changming lowered his gaze and stared intently at Luo Mingshu. In the shimmering pool water, her eyes were dreamy and alluring, with the corners slightly upturned, as if she were tempting something.
His limbs were stiff. It looked as if he was holding Luo Mingshu tightly in his arms, but in reality, he was using Luo Mingshu as leverage to keep himself from sinking into the water.
Xie Changming's long eyelashes were wet with pool water, and they trembled slightly: "I want to go up."
“Mermaid beauties live in the water, how did you get up there?” Luo Mingshu turned Xie Changming’s face to face, her fingertips touching his burning lips.
Xie Changming turned his head and bit her fingertip. His canine teeth grazed her delicate skin, and Luo Mingshu instinctively curled her fingers because of the ticklish sensation.
"I'm afraid of water," he answered honestly.
Luo Mingshu wrapped her arms around his neck, and their bodies swayed gently on the water, rising and falling slightly with the ripples.
“I’ll teach you how to swim,” Luo Mingshu said to him.
She didn't understand why anyone in this world would be afraid of water. Even a wolf cub shouldn't be afraid of water.
Luo Mingshu guided Xie Changming's arm to paddle across the water, creating ripples that let in the cool moonlight.
Xie Changming swam forward with her. As Luo Mingshu approached, his tail reappeared, hanging straight down behind him to maintain his balance.
Because he was in the water, his tail couldn't wag, but Luo Mingshu's long, swaying dragon tail touched some of the downy hair on his tail.
Luo Mingshu liked the feel of his tail, so she deliberately swung her tail to touch Xie Changming's tail. Of course, Xie Changming, who had adapted to the underwater conditions, also noticed this problem, and his hand stopped.
“Your tail.” Xie Changming turned his head to look at Luo Mingshu.
"What's wrong with my tail? Don't you have your own tail?" Luo Mingshu's cheeks flushed slightly.
Xie Changming thought about it and agreed. So he swung his tail and wrapped it around Luo Mingshu's tail. Since Luo Mingshu still needed to rely on her little dragon tail to swim in the water, she tilted her body, lost her balance, and fell directly into Xie Changming's arms.
Without Luo Mingshu's guidance, Xie Changming's body began to sink into the water. He grabbed Luo Mingshu's hand, preparing to pull her ashore with him.
Luo Mingshu, however, was unwilling to let him leave. How could Xie Changming be so cowardly? She exerted force with her tail, shaking it in the water and stirring up a lot of splashes.
The two embraced and sank into the water. Luo Mingshu could breathe underwater, so she didn't feel anything. Xie Changming could too, but he hadn't decided whether he should recite the water-avoiding incantation.
He puffed out his cheeks, and a string of small bubbles rose to the surface. Luo Mingshu tilted her head to look at him in the water, and then with a flick of her finger, she created a small, breathing bubble and presented it to him. Xie Changming finally recovered.
Luo Mingshu transmitted her voice to him from underwater: "It's all your fault for tangling my tail with your own first."
Of course, even now, Xie Changming's little wolf tail hasn't loosened, and Luo Mingshu's slender dragon tail is entangled by him, making it somewhat inconvenient for her to move.
Xie Changming thought that Luo Mingshu had clearly made the first move, so what difference would it make if he responded?
Luo Mingshu reached out and pulled him into her arms, leading him into the depths of the pond. There were no plants there, only clear water and the shadows of the two of them under the moonlight.
Her long hair spread out in the pool, curls cascading down like a dark cloud. Xie Changming, having adapted to breathing underwater, stared intently at Luo Mingshu and, surprisingly, stretched out his arm to paddle, following her figure.
Underwater, Luo Mingshu was even more beautiful; her body was graceful and alluring, more real and beautiful than the little fish he had known long ago. Xie Changming reached out, put his arm around her waist, and surprisingly, carried her away into the distance.
Luo Mingshu was caught off guard and fell into his arms. He held her in his arms and swayed slowly forward. Xie Changming's thin lips were tightly pursed, and he looked rather serious.
"Will you take me swimming?" Luo Mingshu was surprised that Xie Changming had learned to swim so quickly.
Xie Changming's swimming style was agile; he could even scoop up Luo Mingshu while paddling with one hand. He nodded.
Luo Mingshu shook her tail again, but Xie Changming still hadn't let go of her tail. Her tail was still wrapped around his. Why was this little dog so clingy?
She frantically shook her little dragon tail in the water: "Your tail is wrapped too tightly."
Xie Changming's fingertips moved slightly downwards, and he secretly touched the scales on Luo Mingshu's waist. They were cool and seemed to have a metallic feel to them. This feeling was very familiar, so he couldn't bear to retract his tail.
"You touched mine first," Xie Changming said matter-of-factly. "I'm just collecting some interest now."
"Do you lend money at exorbitant interest rates?" Luo Mingshu was shocked.
Xie Changming swam quickly forward with her, the rippling waves flashing past their eyes: "You pulled me down first."
Luo Mingshu was on the verge of tears: "You can actually swim, you were lying to me before, weren't you?"
Xie Changming patted her head: "I really don't know how, but since you like it, I'll naturally learn."
Luo Mingshu was held tightly in his arms, but his arm muscles were actually tense, which showed that he did not appear as relaxed as he seemed.
Fine, since he's scared, she'll let him hold her a little longer. After all, she was the one who pulled him down in the first place, wasn't she? Luo Mingshu thought to herself.
Xie Changming took her swimming, and it wasn't a bad feeling. Moreover, his tail felt really nice to the touch; it was wet and fluffy even in the water.
Luo Mingshu simply leaned against him, acting as a dutiful lifeline until Xie Changming had swum enough, at which point he led her ashore.
After getting ashore, Luo Mingshu leaned against the bluestone, lifting her long hair that was obscuring her vision. The wet hair was tucked behind her ears, and tiny water droplets were shaken off and landed on the damp bluestone shore.
She seemed to blend into the water, as if every drop of water was something she was born with. But Xie Changming was different. He first retracted his wolf tail, which was wrapped around Luo Mingshu's little dragon tail, and then shook it in front of her.
After he shook the wolf cub's tail, which had been soaked in water, the fur was now wet and clumped together, making it look rather disheveled.
Xie Changming's long hair was smooth and originally fell to his shoulders. Now, the dark hair clung to both sides of his face, outlining the cold, hard curve of his lips.
Luo Mingshu turned her head and leaned closer to look at him: "You've learned it?"
Once Xie Changming reached the shore, he had forgotten everything except the sensation of Luo Mingshu's tail. It was cool and smooth, like some kind of hard metal, with her slender body pulsating with the current beneath a thin layer of scales.
He met Luo Mingshu's gaze, his captivating peach blossom eyes saying, "If you haven't learned it, you can try again."
Luo Mingshu, of course, wouldn't fall for his trick. She cupped Xie Changming's cheeks and said, "So you're just after my tail?"
Xie Changming's little wolf tail swayed back and forth, the water droplets clinging to it, making the swaying of his tail seem particularly heavy.
Luo Mingshu subconsciously reached out and secretly touched it, while also wringing out the water from the tip of its tail. The once fluffy wolf tail was now a pitiful, thin, and long tail.
Of course, even in this state, Luo Mingshu couldn't help but touch it again, mainly because Xie Changming's slightly furrowed brows looked extremely handsome.
“You covet it too,” Xie Changming said.
“I like anything that looks good,” Luo Mingshu said confidently.
"Am I pretty?" Xie Changming asked her.
"You...you shameless." Luo Mingshu pushed his chest.
Xie Changming grasped her wrist, and with a forceful pull, Luo Mingshu fell into his arms. Under the moonlight, the pale purple dragon's tail flicked, sending out a string of water droplets.
He stood up and picked her up in his arms, so that Luo Mingshu wouldn't be able to touch his tail at this height.
"What are you doing?" Luo Mingshu grabbed his collar and asked softly.
"I'll take you back." Xie Changming forgot to cast a water-repelling spell on himself for a moment, and water droplets still clung to his long eyelashes.
Luo Mingshu's little dragon tail was still tucked in, swaying gently in Xie Changming's arms.
Xie Changming said, "Take it back." Otherwise, he wouldn't be able to resist touching it.
Luo Mingshu used to love letting him touch her tail, but now she refuses. She has definitely changed.
Luo Mingshu actually obeyed. Her little dragon tail curled up, and then, under the moonlight, a pale purple light rippled. Her tail transformed back into legs, but her feet were bare, her toes were white, and the curves on her ankles showed a mysterious and alluring meaning.
“My embroidered shoes are by the pond,” Luo Mingshu said, wiggling her toes.
Xie Changming's Adam's apple bobbed, his steps faltered, and his voice was low and deep: "I'll take you back to get it."
“There are new ones in the room.” Luo Mingshu shifted her body, finding a more comfortable position to lean against him.
"Okay." Xie Changming's answer was methodical. He wanted to take his gaze away from Luo Mingshu's legs, but he couldn't help but look there.
Luo Mingshu rested her head against his chest and chuckled softly: "So you don't just like fish tails."
Xie Changming certainly didn't only like fishtails. He raised his arm and hugged her tighter: "Alright, let's go back to sleep."
"I bet you still haven't learned to swim," Luo Mingshu pointed at him. "But I won't teach you next time."
“I can be taught again; I’m eager to learn,” Xie Changming said.
“You’re tangling your tail around me, interfering with the lesson,” Luo Mingshu said matter-of-factly. “I won’t teach such a disobedient student.”
The palace doors in front of Xie Changming opened wide, and he went inside, bowing his head to place Luo Mingshu on the soft couch: "I've been very good."
Luo Mingshu bent her knees, looked at Xie Changming, and chuckled, "Whatever, I won't teach you next time."
Xie Changming patted her head, turned and left. Luo Mingshu noticed that he left with his hands and feet moving in unison.
He was surprisingly nervous.
Luo Mingshu lowered her head as if nothing was wrong, and touched her chest with her hand.
Sure enough, her heart was pounding too.
