After the person behind Lu Ding finished speaking, both Lu Ding and Pu Weichao fell silent.
The atmosphere between the two sides was somewhat tense.
I saw Fei Lichao and Yan Zhengfeng both shift their right feet back slightly. The movement was so subtle that I wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't been there.

Lu Ding continued, "Alright, since my nephew knows your friend, we can't be considered strangers. We can always find a reason to get along peacefully. If you don't mind, I'll get straight to the point: let's cooperate and split the profits 50/50, half for you and half for us, how about that?"
Pu Weichao said, "Cooperation is certainly possible, but just because your nephew knows my friend, do you expect me to believe you? What if you scheme against us and we die? Who will we complain to then? Don't forget that you outnumber us."
Lu Ding frowned and said, "That's not the point. My men listen to me, but I'm not sure if your men will listen to you completely."
I frowned. The way these two were talking still felt strange. I had a feeling that every word they said was veiled in malice.
Pu Weichao turned and looked at us, saying, "If this isn't the key point, then what is? I know what you're up to. You just want to use the four of us to help you clear out the zombies in the safe zone. Even if we don't die, you won't split the loot 50/50. Since you want to be frank, let's not hide anything. Who are you trying to fool with your sarcastic remarks?"
Lu Ding smirked: "Young man, I'm not targeting you. It's normal that you don't trust me and I don't trust you either. As for the things in the military region, we all know that whoever controls those things is the boss. It's a 50/50 split, and to be honest, it's too dangerous."
Pu Weichao nodded: "You're right, it's too dangerous. Whether you or I take it, it's too dangerous for both of us. How about this, let's all leave here and neither of us should look back. Anyway, there are so many zombies in the safe zone, the number of us probably won't be enough for them to eat."

Ludin said, "Then there's nothing to talk about."
There's nothing left to discuss? I was surprised. What exactly did they just talk about? Weren't they just discussing cooperation? How come there's nothing left to discuss all of a sudden? Are these two thinking too fast, or am I just too stupid?
“Uncle, there’s no need to be so confrontational. We have no grudge against them,” Sun Shichao said.
Upon hearing this, Pu Weichao laughed, "Yes, we don't have any grudges, but your uncle doesn't think so."
Lu Ding stared at Pu Weichao with ill intent in his eyes and said, "If there's really no other way, there's no need for us to go against each other like this. We can just use our own methods instead."
Pu Weichao said, "There's no need to make it so complicated. Cooperation is possible, but the key is how to cooperate."
Curiosity flashed in Ludin's eyes. "Oh? You have a way?"

Pu Weichao smiled, a strange smile, and said, "I won't tell you the method for now."
Ludin stared at him and snapped, "What do you mean? Are you playing me?"
Pu Weichao said, "I have no intention of playing tricks on you. Look at the time, it's almost four in the afternoon. All we can do now is go in and see what's going on, and then make a plan based on the situation. Do you think we have enough time to get weapons? We'll have to kill the zombies inside for a long time. By the time it gets dark, none of us will be able to save our lives."
"So, I won't tell you the plan for now, but I can take two of you in to take a look, and then we can make a detailed plan. We'll proceed according to the plan tomorrow morning, how about that?"
