(Third update is here. Take your time reading. Please give me some recommendations, the more the better, I don't mind.)
The next morning, I was woken up by a slap.
The slap was very forceful; my face stung. When I opened my eyes, I saw it was Lu Ding.
Luding's left cheek was still contorted in the sunlight, but he smirked, "You're awake."
I nodded.
Last night, just as Sun Shichao was about to strangle me, Lu Ding suddenly appeared and threw Sun Shichao out, thus saving my life.
I licked my chapped lips; I was hungry and thirsty.
Since I was arrested yesterday at noon, it's been more than ten hours now, and I haven't had a drop of water. I'm starving and going crazy.
Luding said, "Now that you're awake, don't sleep anymore. Come with me to meet your friends later."
I nodded without saying a word.
He beckoned to the person behind him, who was holding a black hood. After covering my head with it, I really couldn't see anything.
Then, someone pressed something against my head, and after a while I heard Ludin say, "I'm holding a gun to your head now. If you don't want to die, you'd better behave."
"Mmm," I replied.
Immediately, someone untied my legs, then my hands, but after untying them, they pulled them behind my back and tied them up again.
Ludin moved the gun to the back of my head and pushed me away.
Since I couldn't see the road clearly, I was basically being pushed forward. After leaving the garage, I could feel myself traveling some distance and arriving at an open area. The ground under my feet seemed to be made of wooden planks. Since it was wooden planks, it must be a house.
A short while later, I stepped out of the house and felt the warm sunshine on my skin.
After I went outside, I heard some noises around me, as if some people were talking. It was very chaotic, but I could still make out some of what they were saying.
"Why doesn't this kind of person just die?!"
"That's right, that kind of beast is shameless, daring to steal our things!"
"Just kill them, what's the point of keeping them alive!"
"..."
It was mostly insults. I don't know what Ludin said to them, but in their minds, we were always the bad guys.
However, this is normal.
Luding pushed me into the car. Sitting in the car, I still couldn't see anything, and naturally, the cursing outside gradually faded away.
I don't know where the car is going.
According to what Zhou Liang said yesterday, if Lu Ding's goal is to use me to trade for weapons, then he definitely wouldn't go to vocational high school.
He will probably find a suitable place to make the deal, a place that is advantageous to him.
In the car, Lu Ding suddenly asked, "What did Xiao Chao say to you last night?"
Ludin's voice came from my left. I turned my head slightly and said, "He talked about how he killed that scumbag couple. It made me feel disgusted."
"Hmph." Luding sneered, "If you saw this, you'd probably find it even more disgusting."
I have no further comment on this statement.
Luding spoke with an air of authority: "He's gone mad now, and you know why, but ultimately it's because of you. If it weren't for you, he wouldn't have become like this."
I didn't deny it, so I didn't defend myself either.
Luding said, "You went too far back then."
I admit, that's absolutely right.
However, if we hadn't done it that way, neither of us would have benefited, given our ulterior motives. We might have ended up turning against each other after getting the guns. That's why Pu Weichao came up with the idea that it would be better to keep all the spoils for ourselves than to divide them.
I don't know how long the car drove, but it was about an hour, and it seemed like we took a long detour.
When we parked, Luding pulled me outside the car, and I felt the warmth of the sun again.
He pushed me along for a short while, then whispered in my ear, "I saw your friends, quite a lot of them. Do you want to say hello?"
As he spoke, he ripped off the black hood from my head. The moment the blinding sunlight hit me, I closed my eyes and it took me a while to adjust before I opened them again and saw Pu Weichao and the others about 30 or 40 meters away.
Upon closer inspection, it was clear that quite a few people had indeed arrived.
Pu Weichao, Fei Lichao, Yan Zhengfeng, Chen Shen, Zhang Zhihao, Lu Jing, and finally Zhou Liang.
Each of them had a gun, and Fei Lichao was also carrying a large bag, presumably containing the guns to be traded.
Lu Ding didn't go any further. Instead, he waved to Pu Weichao and the others, and then pushed me toward the lake.
It was only then that I noticed that this was a lake, and if I wasn't mistaken, this should be Honghu Lake in Jiajiang.
Lu Ding pulled me directly to a house by the lake. After we went inside, he shouted to Pu Weichao and the others who were following behind, "If you dare, come in all of you."
Pu Weichao and the others naturally followed them in.
I went into the house and found that the first floor was completely empty. Apart from a few load-bearing columns, there was nothing else. The walls were bare and had not been painted.
The windows on all sides are very high.
After Pu Weichao and his group entered, they stood face to face with Lu Ding's men.
Pu Weichao stood in the middle of the crowd, took the bag from Fei Lichao, and said first, "These are the things you wanted. Release Xiaonan, and you can all take them."
A sneer appeared on Lu Ding's ferocious face: "Pu Weichao, you tricked me last time, but I won't let you trick me again this time. Here's the deal: we want the guns you have too, otherwise I won't return this guy surnamed Lu to you."
Pu Weichao remained expressionless and said, "Neither you nor I are fools. Do you think I would agree to your condition?"
Lu Ding laughed and said, "You have no choice but to agree, since I have your men under my control. You certainly don't want them to die, right? So, you won't go wrong by listening to me."
I saw that Fei Lichao looked very angry and wanted to speak, but Pu Weichao stopped him.
Pu Weichao continued, "So you're saying we have nothing to talk about? You want guns, I want people. But I don't mind killing you all. Lu Xiaonan is dead, so be it. I don't need to keep an enemy for myself, don't you think?"
Hearing this, Lu Ding wasn't worried at all. He smiled, pulled out a pistol from behind his back, pointed it at my head, and said, "So you really don't care at all whether he lives or dies? In that case, how about I kill him for you, and then you kill us all?"
Pu Weichao's eyes flashed with anger as he said in a suppressed voice, "Do you dare!"
"You really think I wouldn't dare!" Lu Ding's face twisted into a ferocious grin as he laughed wildly. With a flick of his wrist, he aimed the gun at my shoulder and fired a shot.
Bang!
Gunshots rang out in the room, deafeningly loud.
"Ah!" At the same time, a bullet pierced my shoulder, and I screamed in agony.
“You…” Pu Weichao raised the gun in his hand, but dared not fire.
I endured the excruciating pain in my shoulder, as blood continued to flow from the piercing wound.
Like a madman, Ludin pointed the gun back at my head: "Now do you think I dare to kill him?"
