Chapter 234 Zombies everywhere!

We walked for about two minutes, covering a distance of about 100 meters.

A hundred meters isn't far, but I was a little apprehensive, not because of the zombies around me, but because of that building to the west!

The light emanating from that building puzzled me. It didn't seem to be a reflection from the building's surface, and there weren't any mirrors on the side of the building to the west that could reflect light!

So this makes me wonder, could this reflection be from a telescope or the scope of a sniper rifle?

I didn't tell Fei Lichao about this because I was afraid it was just my own overthinking.

Continuing forward, Zhang Zhihao's men led the way, killing many zombies along the way.

A short while later, I saw a park across the street to the east. It was a gated park with the gate open, and from a distance, I glimpsed what appeared to be quite a few zombies inside.

After walking about four or five hundred meters, we crossed the small street and came to a crossroads.

The area around this four-character intersection looks like a commercial street, with a supermarket building across the street and shops on both sides. In the past, this place would have been very prosperous.

However, this place now appears desolate and empty.

There weren't many zombies around. The east-west streets were much cleaner than the north-south streets. This was probably because the east-west streets were occupied by the military when the zombie outbreak first started, which is why they were so clean.

The reason there are fewer zombies here is probably because this area is located on the outskirts of Jiajiang City. When the zombie outbreak occurred, the people here followed the army to the safe zone, which is why there are fewer zombies.

However, these are not the main points.

Xu Hai pointed to the building across the street and said, "I found the diary in the warehouse of that supermarket."

We looked across the street, at a large supermarket. I figured there would be quite a few zombies inside, but Xu Haishui's next words dispelled that notion.

"There are very few zombies inside. When I went in before, there weren't many zombies, and I got in very easily. I took a lot of things out of there."

“Yes, yes, I know. I was there too. There were very few zombies inside,” Liu Jinshuang said with a smile next to Xu Haishui.

Since there are fewer zombies, it's advantageous for us.

Zhang Zhihao looked at Fei Lichao and asked, "Brother Fei, what do you think?"

Fei Lichao said, "I don't have any thoughts. I've been here before, so what's there to be afraid of? Let's go in."

Zhang Zhihao said, "Okay, let's go over there."

We crossed the intersection where no zombies were lurking and arrived at the entrance of a large supermarket.

A chilly wind was blowing all around us. After we arrived at the door, Zhang Zhihao made arrangements.

He said to the two people in the group, "The four of you stay at the entrance and let us know immediately if anything happens!"

"Yes, Captain." The four nodded. They had walkie-talkies, which made communication easy.

Immediately, Zhang Zhihao turned to look at us and asked, "Brother Lu, Sister Jing, what about you? Are you coming in together?"

"I want to go in!" Sister Jing said decisively.

I glanced at the surroundings outside, a strange feeling creeping into my heart. I said, "Let's go in. We're already here, it'll be safer with more people around."

Zhang Zhihao did not object, and our group went inside.

We each had a flashlight, which we prepared before setting off.

We entered the first floor of the supermarket, and according to Xu Haishui, the warehouse he discovered was located deep inside the first floor.

Turning on the flashlight, the entire supermarket was pitch black because it was enclosed, and you couldn't see anything clearly. The light coming in from the entrance could only extend a short distance before it was almost completely dark behind.

A short while later, we arrived at the cashier's booth. After going inside, we used our flashlights to illuminate the surroundings, but we didn't find any zombies.

The entire supermarket was silent; there didn't seem to be a single zombie in sight.

Clang!

Suddenly, a noise came from ahead, and everyone tensed up.

Liu Jinshuang quickly apologized, "I'm so sorry, I didn't see anything under my feet, I'm so sorry."

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief, and Zhang Zhihao said, "Be careful."

Let's continue forward.

Xu Haishui led the way, and because it was pitch black all around, we didn't dare to walk too fast.

I used the beam of my flashlight to observe my surroundings. The supermarket, which had just been bustling with activity, looked eerie. In addition, many items on the shelves were scattered on the floor, making the whole supermarket look like a scene from a horror movie.

The whistling sound of air flowing came from all directions. I don't know if it was because of the air flowing in the pipes, but it made me very uncomfortable.

Jingjie walked steadily beside me, but because it was too dark, I couldn't see the expression on her face.

Xu Haishui led us deeper and deeper into the supermarket, and the deeper we went, the darker it became.

Fortunately, there was no noise around us; the only sounds were everyone's footsteps and breathing.

"Aww!"

Suddenly, the sound of a zombie's hind footsteps came from a corner of the supermarket, and we all stopped in our tracks without hesitation.

"Was that a zombie making noise just now...?" someone asked.

"Shh." Zhang Zhihao told people to be quiet.

"Awooo!" A moment later, the sound of a zombie's hind legs came again.

Fei Lichao suddenly said, "About twenty meters to the left front!"

Upon hearing his words, we all shone our flashlights to the left front.

Unfortunately, there was only one row of shelves to our left!

The supermarket is well-organized, with rows of shelves arranged in an orderly manner.

As for the zombie, it's probably behind a few rows of shelves.
