Chapter 238 Lu Jing (Part 1)

A large portion of the zombies in the supermarket came from outside.

I find this strange.

When we came here before, we could see the situation outside very clearly. The streets at the intersection, whether they were running east-west or north-south, were very clean, and we couldn't see many zombies.

So here's the question!

Where did this large group of zombies that rushed in from outside the supermarket come from?

Did it appear out of thin air?

Moreover, the timing of these zombies' appearance was too coincidental. We were attacked in the supermarket and were just about to run out when this group of zombies suddenly appeared from the doorway.

That's too much of a coincidence.

My brow furrowed, and a ridiculous idea suddenly popped into my head.

"Could it be that someone is controlling these zombies?"

I scoffed. How could that be? How could a human possibly control zombies? If humans could control zombies, so many people wouldn't have died!

"Sigh, my brain is still too slow, I just can't figure it out! If it were Pu Weichao, would he have figured it out by now?"

"What are you muttering about?" Fei Lichao asked curiously from the side.

I shook my head. "Nothing. How's the situation outside?"

Fei Lichao said, "Judging from the sounds, most of the zombies have arrived, but we don't know the exact number."

I looked up, but all I could see was darkness; I couldn't make out anything.

Fei Lichao was very brave. He turned on his flashlight and shone it on the zombies in front of him, instantly seeing how many zombies there were.

It was a dense, overwhelming mass of zombies! Their heads thronged together.

A moment later, Fei Lichao turned off the flashlight and said, "Damn, so many!"

I asked, "Do you think it's about right?"

Fei Lichao looked at me and said, "It's about time. Judging from the zombies that rushed in at the door and what's left in the supermarket, it looks like it's about time."

I nodded. "Since it's about time, let's go. There's no more noise outside. These zombies will probably quiet down soon. It should be safe for us to leave now."

"I'll listen to you," Fei Lichao readily agreed.

To be honest, we're both very nervous right now because the shelves outside the counter and the zombies are almost quiet. If we make any more noise now, the zombies will probably swarm over us.

By then, it would be a miracle if we were left with only bones.

So we decisively turned on our flashlights to illuminate the road ahead.

We are now walking behind the counter; the light will not shine out.

The counter in the deli section is very long, about twenty meters long.

The entrance we came in through was a meat shop, and the exit we're going to exit through now seems to be a bread shop.

Upon reaching the exit of the deli counter, Fei Lichao led the way. There were no zombies ahead, so it was safe. Fei Lichao then pulled me out.

We shone the flashlight beams around to make sure there were no zombies nearby before we dared to run over.

Fei Lichao remembered the way to the supermarket entrance, but I didn't, so I could only follow behind him.

As they traveled along, although the road was much safer than before, zombies would still suddenly appear beside them.

At this moment, Fei Lichao's strength was perfectly displayed. As a soldier captain, he was quite skilled in this kind of combat, and it was obvious at a glance that he had received professional training.

No matter how many zombies blocked his way, he remained calm and dealt with them perfectly, killing the zombies in his path.

Although it was safe to follow behind him, I dared not relax my guard in any way, for fear of being pounced on by the zombies hiding between the shelves.

"Xiaonan, keep up, we're almost there!" Fei Lichao said.

puff!

He chopped off the head of a zombie, but we didn't care whether it was dead or not, and kept running forward.

Not long after, I saw the light coming from the exit ahead.

"We've reached the checkout counter!"

I was surprised. Fei Lichao led me around a corner, and we instantly saw the cashier area ahead, which was being crammed with zombies.

There were a few zombies near the checkout area, but they posed no threat to the two of us. After killing a few zombies, we didn't linger to avoid any accidents.

After escaping the checkout area, the light shining from the supermarket entrance ahead seemed like hope.

Without hesitation, we both ran outside the gate.

Having been in darkness for so long, the intense light outside the door made it impossible for us to open our eyes, so we had no idea what was happening outside.

But when we opened our eyes, we were stunned.
